Storm | Fire Pack | Location: Border | Tagging: Karter, Three-Foot
It had been a big day. With the passing of Max came the uprising of Striker and the new Beta Rubin. It also brought the wrath and subsequent punishment of Thunder, Max's son. Not many wolves backed the Trainee and she wasn't surprised. If he wanted to uproot his life, that was solely on him. He shouldn't expect any kin or friends to try to assist him in an endeavor that was solely his own.
Eventually things quieted down and she watched as the wolves that were due to go on the Meet left. She wondered for a moment if she could've asked to go with them. She tended to keep her head down for the most part, but perhaps she might be able to sneak in with the rest of them. After all, perhaps Karter would be among the Lightning Pack wolves. Oh, how she longed to speak to him again. She knew her sister was somewhere in the Fire Pack and she suspected she'd narrowed it down, but... But what? All the wolves in the Fire Pack, minus perhaps Thunder, seemed happy here. If her sister was among their ranks, how could she disrupt her life like that? The question that plagued her mind since the day she left wiggled into the front of her attention once more: Had she made a mistake in moving packs? Had she made a mistake... in leaving Karter?
She stayed around to pace a bit, before she eventually made the choice to take a stroll down by the border. She couldn't recall if there was a guard posted tonight, but with the Meet... surely no one would try to cross over? She may have the chance to get some time to herself, to truly think, once and for all.
Alas, that wasn't meant to be the case. She heard the call go up by the border, identifying Three-foots voice as he called for the help of Arian. Arian wasn't able to come assist him, but Storm certainly was. Changing her direction, she ran like a lightning streak to his side, only to see-
"Karter?!" It came out as a yelp as though she'd been struck a blow. Why was he here, on the border? He wasn't here to see her... was he? Her heart leaped into her throat as she lunged at her own pack mate, her teeth fastening around his scruff in a non-lethal blow as she struggled to haul Three-foot away from Karter. When that didn't seem to do much, she forcibly shoved her way between them, positioning herself over Karter in a protective stance as she stared at Three-Foot.
"Do you want to explain to me why you're attacking a Lightning Pack wolf on the night of a Meet?" She demanded of the old wolf. She swung her head around to look at Karter. "And you! You're not getting off that easily!" She turned her gaze back to Three-Foot. "You can explain yourself now, or you can check around the borders," She jerked her head upriver where their border continued further away. "And make sure there isn't anyone else coming along with whatever this Lightning Pack wolf has planned. Which will it be, Three?" She asked, eyeing the older wolf as her heart thumped hard in her chest.
