She felt Kai pick her up and she yelped in delight and she wagged her tail. She said, "I'm a superhero." She posed like a super hero flying in the aor and she giggled at her own pose.

Around the mouthful of fuzzy pup-fluff, Kai couldn’t help a small laugh of his own. This Pup, although she had recently died and come to join them, was still as full of life as any living Pup. No. The brown wolf scolded himself silently. She IS alive. That’s what Starris is for. A second chance at life. Because some wolves deserve to be remembered, and even more often, some wolves have died all too soon. He himself was an example of that, but this she-wolf, young Willow...she had died even earlier than Kai himself had. That wasn’t fair. Not to her, not to her birth family, not to anyone. Willow should have lived a good, long life before coming up to join them.

Kai set off at a light jog, trotting around and around in a wide circle, still holding his little sister in her superhero pose in hopes that perhaps he could make her feel like for even a brief moment in time, she could fly.

“I’ll wait as long as I can so that I can get a feel of this place” she finally decided in a quiet voice. She felt bad for changing her mind, but she didn’t want to risk anything. After all, she had only just arrived there and didn’t want to leave. She sighed heavily.

Rain

Rain flattened her ears to her head, slightly nervous that she had gotten it wrong. She sighed slightly, but when she saw Anna get up unharmed, she sighed with relief. “I’m ok! Who’s next?” She asked.

She felt Kai walking around and she yipped, "I'm flying!! Thx brother, u make playtime fun!" She spread her paws out furthur and she felt the wind ruffle her pelt and she saw her pelt shimmer more and she yippede with happiness.

"Understood. I don’t blame you. It’s always good to know what you’re dealing with beforehand," Cobalt agreed with a nod. "There’s no need to feel bad or awkward about it. The fact you would entertain the idea at all is more than most wolves around here can say," he finally told her. "Shall we meet up with the other two? I believe young Acero planned to bring back prey. He and Fang should be back any minute."

"See? I’m okay!" Anna hadn’t missed the worry in the other Pup's eyes, and for a moment, it made her feel bad, but she forced herself to shake it off for now. She glanced over at her brown furred sister, Merida, who was nodding firmly. Rain had won the round fair and square. Her first time, too! "Now you and Merida do it!"

Kai smiled to himself. He’d always been the younger one. Although Mano still retained the body of a Pup, he’d chosen to allow his mind to grow up instead, so mentally and biologically, Kai had always been younger. Now he had a little sister to play and goof around with. He could be the big sibling for once. It was, he reflected, a strangely nice feeling. Perhaps to be looked up to, and to be the fun big brother.

She hugged him and then said, "What does it mean when mommy says growing my mind?"

Kai gently set his little sister down on the soft, sparkling grass below them. The question she asked had briefly caught the male off guard, but at least he had an answer this time. It would be terribly awkward for his new sister's first impression of him to be that he was totally clueless about the way things worked in the place they lived. Especially since he had lived here for a good long while.

"Well, sometimes a wolf chooses they want their mind to become that of an adult. Bodies never grow here, but your mind can still mature, you can still learn and your mental state can still become an adult if a Pup wants it to," Kai explained.

Willow looked up at him and said in a more serious tone, "When will I have to decide if I want my mind to grow?"

Kai bent down to gently lick Willow between the ears. "You get to decide that whenever you want, and you can change your mind at any point if you want to remain a Pup for a while and let your mind grow up later," he told her. "We have literally all the time in the world here, there’s no rush for anything."
