Sariel's expression changed to shock for a moment, but it soon relaxed. He was here, and that meant something in his heart had changed. "Well, did you ever see if Chiren regretted any of it? You must on some level, for you are here with us. That means Starris believes you capable and deserving of a second chance. If she were the same, there’s a chance she may have been delivered here as well."

The male shook his head sadly.
"Like I said, it was only after Alita that I had a change of heart... Chiren died from blood loss while birthing. My other pups did not make it either. Most of them were stillborn." He said, even more sorrow weighing down on him.

Sariel's heart sank to her stomach when he spoke. She never would understand the appeal of wolves eating other wolves unless they were either corrupted or absolutely desperate. Chiren had never had the chance to change her mind or her heart. Sariel's gaze dropped to her paws.

"I’ll ask around if you like, but if it was cannibalism and she never opened her heart to other options, it may be too late, and she may be with the moon-dogs. To kill another wolf in cold blood is a horrible crime. To devour the flesh of our own kind, even worse." If she was with the moon-dogs, chances of her returning were slim to none. She hoped it was not that. It made her feel guilty. She grieved her mate who had moved on and still lived, but he was a good wolf. One day, he would rejoin her and they would be reunited happily. This male and his mate may never have that opportunity.

She was still crying as Grace said they would find her food. She replied, "Ok, thx u." She moved over to Grace and asked to be picked up.

Grace carefully picked up the Pup and carried her towards the meadow. There would be plenty of small game running around there. Mice and other small rodents, the prey that had the softest and easiest flesh for a young one to deal with. "Stay right here," she instructed, gently placing the Pup down by a tall rock. "I’ll be right back."

Grace had been a Hunter before she’d borne her first litter, and that skill had not abandoned her. In a matter of minutes she had found and dispatched three mice. She brought them back to the rock and used her sharp, narrow incisors to tear apart the muscle and fur of one of the mice, revealing the soft, tender flesh inside, then nodding to it, gently nudging the prey towards Willow.

"Go ahead, take a bite, see how that is for you."

She took a bite and she said, "It's really good. Can I have some water though. I need help swallowing it." As Grace walked to get water, Willow was seized in someone's jaws and she yelped and wailed for Grace. The wolf started running and it ran far away from Grace with Willow in its jaws.

Fawn saw the female wolf nudge mouse flesh to Willow and Willow took a bite. Then, she saw the female wolf go to the river to get some water. Fawn dashed and seized Willow in her jaws and heard Willow yelp and wail. She began running with Willow swinging from her jaws. "SHHHH!!!," Fawn grunted.

"We may as well ask around, however I don't have hope. I suppose those were all the questions I had... Now, where is someone who can teach me how to... dream walk, did you say?"

Grace nodded. "Of course, I’ll go back to the river and fetch some for you. You just wait right here, okay? No need for you to go get lost or-" The large, muscular brown she-wolf gasped as another smaller figure rushed in and grasped the small Pup in her jaws. Although Grace had fully intended to adopt and care for Willow, and was not the she-wolf who had given birth to her, her mother's protective streak had never died away, even after the majority of her own litters had grown and separated to their own jobs, found their places in the world.

Grace turned and darted after the she-wolf, praying to the oldest wolves in the heavens that her Hunter's speed had not abandoned her. She knew if she could reach the other wolf she could overpower her in strength. As she was more than half dire wolf, that would not be an issue, but catching up may be a problem. She let out a harsh bark and gave chase.

"There is. A number of wolves know how. If I could teach you myself, I would, but I’ve never successfully managed to, it takes a lot of work and a lot of focus. Focus I’ve never had for anyone save for Ash." Sariel lifted her head and looked around. Cobalt wasn’t far away, but he was occupied speaking with a young she-wolf Sariel could not remember having seen before. How many wolves had died recently?

"I could take you to the former Lightning Pack's Alpha, Lolan. He’s been here quite some time, and I know that at least once he's shared dreams with his eldest daughter," She remembered.

Dyson nodded gratefully, bringing himself to his feet. "Thank you, Sariel." He said, shaking his fur. "How do you even find everyone here anyways?" Starris must've been huge after all. Maybe even unending. Was it like Earth, where if you ran and ran, there was always more land? Or were there walls... Barriers?


OOC: How DOES the whole landscape thing work anyway? I'm curious now XD

Fawn ran faster and she heard Willow squeak and wail for the she-wolf. The she-wolf was giving chase and she flung up dirt, rocks and dust in the air, hoping it would stop her. Willow swung from her jaws and she rounded the corner and then jumped into the river and ducked under in the water. Good thing I'm good at swimming she thought.
