RushWind bounded across the forest floor, their gaze following a scrawny rabbit a couple of paw steps ahead of them. It most likely had been desperate for food since it had risked traveling fairly far from it's home. They finally had enough of the chase and pounced, their front claws barely gripped the back legs of the rabbit making it tumble. They were quick to regain their balance and get a better grip before ending the rabbits life.
They proudly raised their head, feeling the weight of the rabbit as she picked it up. It wasn't exceptionally scrawny but it was fairly underweight considering it was still Leaf-fall.

When Weaselpounce came over, she smiled. "Yes, Weaselpounce! Great timing. You can go on the hunting patrol with Twistflare and Leafheart." She said. As Sealsmog came over, Mistheart smiled. "That sounds good. I've already sent one patrol to go out along our border with CrowClan, mayhbe you can check the other border and go hunting if you have some time." She looked around camp quickly, noticing that Rookstar was up now. "Take Lightningjaw and Coalpaw with you too." She decided. "Great, that should be all then. Take more cats with you as you feel you need." She nodded. "I trust you all to organize that well," She said to both groups of cats. Mistheart dipped her head and left the group of cats she had assigned for patrol.

That was all done then. Now she just needed to wake Wildpaw, and maybe speak with Rookstar before she set about on training. Ducking her head into the apprentice's den, Mistheart saw that Wildpaw was still asleep, so she padded over and shook her gently with a paw. "Wildpaw, it's time to get up." She said.

"These should work, yes." Chicoryleap said to Dahliapaw. "The most important thing is picking a tree that has branches that can hold your weight. Falling from a tree is dangerous." They walked a bit more to find one with some lower branches so that they could climb back down easier. "And you don't want to get yourself into a tree that you might get stuck in." With a leap, Chicoryleap jumped up into a crook of a tree, then used their claws to bring themselves a bit higher and to perch onto a branch. "Come on up."

Creamflower gets up from her crouch and watches Shiverkit try to copy her, immediately noticing his tail flying around and his rear end sticking up too high. She then watches him try to pounce on a leaf nearby and is quick to predict how its going to end up, chuckling a little when she watches Shiverkit doing exactly what she predicted would happen. "Not bad for your first try." she said. "But you missed the leaf because of your posture in your crouch. Your tail was flailing around like a bird's wing flapping around and your rear end was too high. You need to keep your your tail down as well as your rear end lower. If you let your tail flail around in excitement, it might brush against some foliage and will certainly alert the prey of your location."

She'd been up long before the sun began it's climb into the sky, walking the forest paths when nightfall still held the land under its grip. Sleep had not come easy to the warrior for the past couple of nights and she couldn't begin to explain why. Cannaleaf had debated going to see Suncliff about any herbs that could help her sleep better at night. Though she would need to do so with discretion since she didn't want word getting back to her brother and then have him worry over her sleeplessness. The last thing she wanted was for Rowanstar to worry about her, he had enough to deal with already, what with running the clan and all. When she had left the camp just before dusk, the stillness of the night and the playful fireflies that bounced in the night sky soothed her and almost made her forget about her lack of ability to sleep soundly. Cannaleaf hadn't had a destination in mind when she began her walk, and somehow she ended up in the branches of a tall tree that overlooked most of Crowclan's territory and was a superb vantage point to watch the sunrise. So that's what she did. Perched atop a thick branch, her thick tail dangling off the other side, the black and white molly staked out the sunrise, her beautiful pale emerald eyes lighting up as the sun peeked over the horizon and painted the sky in swathes of pinks and oranges.

Atop that branch she sat for a little while after the sun first made an appearance and only when she caught the faint traces of her clan mates scents on the breeze did she decided it was time to head back. There were probably a few early risers that were out in the forest to do some hunting or just grabbing some peaceful alone time before they had to begin their duties. The fluffy molly scaled down the tree trunk and landed skillfully on the ground below with barely a sound before she began heading back towards camp. The molly's head lifted as she spotted a figure in the distance ahead heading in the same direction she was. Picking up her pace, Cannaleaf tried to distinguish who it was and as she drew closer she recognized the unmistakeable point markings of Eaglebreeze. "Good morning Eaglebreeze. Hunting was good this morning?" the warrior greeted the tomcat as she came up beside him, her green hues flicking down to the two birds he held in his mouth.

She wasn't waiting long after nudging the older apprentice awake and Aphidpaw took a step back as Lilypaw lifted her head and stood up. When the question about her mentor arose, the pale calico didn't have the answer Lilypaw was looking for so she shrugged. "I haven't seen her yet, but my guess is she's probably out there organizing patrols" Apidpaw offered as she glanced towards the den entrance. A moment later Lilypaw was out of her nest and beckoning for her to follow as they left the den. Aphidpaw blinked in the morning light but her eyes quickly adjusted and her eyes zoomed in on the fresh-kill pile, stomach growling loudly on cue. "You wanna get a bite to eat first?" she asked the other molly since Aphidpaw had yet to see her own mentor and wasn't in much of a rush.

Her angular ears were pointed forward as she addressed Mistheart, nodding once the feline suggested she lead a patrol to check the other border and do some hunting on their way back. The siamese warrior gave the deputy another nod before she turned her attention elsewhere and set off to look for Lightningjaw and Coalpaw. When Sealsmog spotted the other warrior not far she set off towards him, noting that she didn't see Coalpaw with him yet. "Morning Lightningjaw. Mistheart asked me to take you and Coalpaw with me on a border patrol if you're up for it?" the colourpoint feline meowed as she drew closer, within speaking distance of the warrior

The sight of his sister animatedly beckoning her apprentice and Bravepaw over so their patrol could get a move on. It had been a while since the two had actually had a civil conversation, one where there was no tension or feelings of guilt on his behalf. Ever since the whole incident of their brother, Barrow, being found guilty for the murder of their clan mate, Flyfang, Crocusweb and Flowersong had sort of been on the outs. Mind you, it had been revealed that their brother had been framed for the tomcat's death, and the real aggressor had been caught and exiled immediately. When Rookstar and the rest of the clan had realized their mistake, that they had banished an innocent cat, they hadn't had any chance at finding the now elusive black tomcat. It was like he had disappeared. Crocusweb was especially left with a deep pit of regret that had built up form the moment he'd found out his brother was innocent. Perhaps his guilt wouldn't have been there had he not been against his brother. Crocusweb was convinced along with the rest of the clan that Barrow was guilty fro Flyfang's murder, which had wrecked their little family of three. Flowersong had been by Barrow's side through it all, up until the moment he was banished form the clan, and it had devastated her just as much as Crocusweb's betrayal to their brother.

Since then, she hadn't wanted much to do with him which tore him up inside because Crocusweb loved his sister. He loved his brother deep down as well, but they had always had a rough relationship growing up so he wasn't sure anything could fix things after what happened. The grey tabby shifted in the spot he occupied, seated on the outskirts of camp while he watched his sister's calico pelt gather with her patrol, waiting himself for a chance to get started with the morning patrols.

For some reason he preferred to sleep on the hard ground than the soft makeshift nest he'd made with his own two paws. He remembered the nests his sister used to make for him, adding moss and duck down to it to make it more comfortable for him. The thought made his heart squeeze in the absence of his sister. He missed Flowersong dearly, but there was now way he'd be able to be with her again the way they used to when they were younger. The only upside was that she often found time to meet with him, so his life wasn't completely void of his beloved sister. The lean black tomcat shifted his hind legs, lifting his head briefly to get comfortable again before he lowered it and rested it on his paws.

He knew how to climb he was done it before with or without his mentor, but even if he knew he started to act stupid around his mentor. He felt like if he wanted to teach him something, it could be waste of Chicoleap's time if he already knew it, so he copied everything his mentor did, not even trying to do something else. He leaped into the tree and clawed himself to the same branch his mentor was on.
