After recently becoming the deputy, she'd taken to the actual role quite smoothly, but she might have had a bit more issues falling asleep in a practically empty den, having grown used to the warrior's den. Stretching out his legs in the clearing, he began to look around for his apprentice. He couldn't say that he'd be all that surprised if he didn't wake soon, after all Coalpaw had only been training for a moon and had yet to adjust. Taking a glance towards Mistheart, he was mildly disappointed to hear that he wouldn't be on any patrols yet.

Walking back into the camp, the seal point was only carrying two birds as he hadn't spent as long as he usually did out of the camp. It wasn't all that surprising for him to sneak out of the camp, especially in the morning, as more than a few cats simply didn't like him and he wasn't one to pick a fight this early in the morning at least.

Shuffling in his nest, he nearly kicked other apprentices in the face a few times, he did not want to get up even if he could most likely be coaxed out by friends. He wasn't exactly like his sister or his mother and wake up before the sun even rose, and if he could, he would sleep in until at least sunhigh. His poor mentor was probably busy with his own duties, and his own apprentice probably didn't help matters.

The tom's ears flattened. Though Seashadow was his friend, he wasn't really open to speaking on why he left. "I would've stayed in CrowClan if our mother didn't pass away." The words stung like stinging nettle. He took a moment to compose himself. "We never figured out how she died but my sister believed Velvetwing was poisoned by Duskclaw… Mossyshadow's mate. I was so distraught that I left, causing Mossyshadow to spiral into what she is now: A mess." The tom sighed. "I was told Duskclaw threatened Mossyshadow when he first found out she was having his kits. I did what any other protective brother would've done and, well, picked him off." He mewed quietly.

She didn't know all the details of Mossyshadow's relationship with Duskclaw, but she knew it hadn't ended great. "Hopefully you can move on from that. He can't bother you anymore." She laid down next to the other queen. "And you have plenty of others who will help you." Mossyshadow's brother, for one, and of course herself. Queens ought to stick together and help each other out. Raising kits was certainly not easy. "And I'm always here if you need help."

"Twistflare, Leafheart," Mistheart called to the two warriors, and then smiled as Twistflare came over. "Twistflare, I was hoping that you and Leafheart could go out on a hunting patrol." She looked over to where Twistflare had come from. She could have sworn she had seen Mothpool. Huh. "Maybe you can grab a few others?" The deputy shrugged. She didn't particularly care who went on the patrol, just as long as the clan was fed. When Weaselpounce came over, she smiled. "Yes, Weaselpounce! Great timing. You can go on the hunting patrol with Twistflare and Leafheart." She said.

Chicoryleap fixed their apprentice with a curious look. They had never really thought of Dahliapaw as too serious, but then again, Chicoryleap was usually fairly straight-forward too, worried about making mistakes. She'd been up long before the sun began it's climb into the sky, walking the forest paths when nightfall still held the land under its grip. Sleep had not come easy to the warrior for the past couple of nights and she couldn't begin to explain why. Cannaleaf had debated going to see Suncliff about any herbs that could help her sleep better at night. Though she would need to do so with discretion since she didn't want word getting back to her brother and then have him worry over her sleeplessness. The last thing she wanted was for Rowanstar to worry about her, he had enough to deal with already, what with running the clan and all. When she had left the camp just before dusk, the stillness of the night and the playful fireflies that bounced in the night sky soothed her and almost made her forget about her lack of ability to sleep soundly. Cannaleaf hadn't had a destination in mind when she began her walk, and somehow she ended up in the branches of a tall tree that overlooked most of Crowclan's territory and was a superb vantage point to watch the sunrise. So that's what she did. Perched atop a thick branch, her thick tail dangling off the other side, the black and white molly staked out the sunrise, her beautiful pale emerald eyes lighting up as the sun peeked over the horizon and painted the sky in swathes of pinks and oranges.

Atop that branch she sat for a little while after the sun first made an appearance and only when she caught the faint traces of her clan mates scents on the breeze did she decided it was time to head back. There were probably a few early risers that were out in the forest to do some hunting or just grabbing some peaceful alone time before they had to begin their duties. The fluffy molly scaled down the tree trunk and landed skillfully on the ground below with barely a sound before she began heading back towards camp. The molly's head lifted as she spotted a figure in the distance ahead heading in the same direction she was. Picking up her pace, Cannaleaf tried to distinguish who it was and as she drew closer she recognized the unmistakeable point markings of Eaglebreeze. "Good morning Eaglebreeze. Hunting was good this morning?" the warrior greeted the tomcat as she came up beside him, her green hues flicking down to the two birds he held in his mouth.

The moss underneath her body was warm and offered ample cushioning for her small form and gave her just one more reason to want to stay there all day. Apidpaw had been aware of the other apprentices rising and leaving the den, each on their own time, and despite knowing fully well she should be doing the same, opted for a little more sleep. The pale coated dilute calico molly peeled open an eye and slowly tilted her head back in her nest to scan the apprentices den, catching a glimpse of another apprentice who was asleep still as well. The small apprentice rolled over onto her belly and pushed herself up to a sitting position, her jaws parting in a wide yawn that left her smacking her lips together tiredly. Apidpaw licked a paw and drew it over her ears before she rose to her paws, her pale blue eyes resting on her other sleeping den mate. It was Lilypaw, an older apprentice but one she quite liked. Then again, all the apprentices were older than her since she was the baby of the den at seven moons. Not wanting the other molly to be the last one awake, Aphidpaw crossed the den to where her nest was and gave her den mate a nudge in the side, hoping to wake her. "Psst, Lilypaw?" came her semi-hushed meow before she realized there was really no need to whisper when her goal was to wake the other cat. "We'd better get going, we're the last ones to wake. Featherhaze and Adderlight are probably waiting for us" she added as she took a step back to wait and see if the pointed molly would wake.

Sealsmog had woken not long ago along with the majority of the clan, and had been waiting around for Mistheart to arrange the morning patrols. From what she could tell, the deputy had already put together a hunting party consisting of Twistflare, Leafheart and Weaselpounce, so maybe Sealsmog could offer to take out a border patrol for her. Where she was laid out near a boulder on the outer parts of camp, the brown colourpoint molly's ears swivelled when she caught onto a particular conversation. Her eyes flew in the direction of the conversation, not surprised when she noticed she was looking at Badgerstripe and Seashadow. She remembered Badgerstripe from their previous clan, Crowclan, the clan they'd both left for own personal reasons. After Sealsmog's sister died she hadn't been in right state of mind for a long time and her actions began taken on a more aggressive and self-destructive form, which was why she had chosen to leave Crowclan so as to not continue to be a bad role model for her two nieces. Berrykit and Lilykit, who were most likely apprentices by now, meant everything to her. Daisyflower and Sealsmog had been incredibly tight as sisters growing up and when she discovered her sister was pregnant, Sealsmog was overwhelmed with joy for her. Once Berrykit, Fawnkit and Lilykit were born, it was often joked about that Sealsmog was more of a worry wart over them than their own mother. She cared for those three kits deeply and it just about killed her when they lost Fawnpaw and Daisyflower in one go.

So because of that and out of fear of her nieces seeing her in a poor light, she left the clan, trusting that their father, Icestorm would take good care of them. Not a day went by where she didn't miss her family, but after settling in Spiderclan she felt as if she had done the right thing for everyone. Her eyes lifted towards Badgerstripe once more, remembering that it was most likely the death of his mother that drove him to switch clan's as well. If anyone knew how much death could drive someone away from their home, it was both of them. Pulling her attention away from the conversation happening between the two toms, Sealsmog got to her feet and made her way towards the deputy. "Hey Mistheart" the brown colourpoint warrior meowed, approaching the older she-cat. "I can take out or join a patrol if you'd like" Sealsmog offered, her ears twitching at the same time her whiskers did.

The sight of his sister animatedly beckoning her apprentice and Bravepaw over so their patrol could get a move on. It had been a while since the two had actually had a civil conversation, one where there was no tension or feelings of guilt on his behalf. Ever since the whole incident of their brother, Barrow, being found guilty for the murder of their clan mate, Flyfang, Crocusweb and Flowersong had sort of been on the outs. Mind you, it had been revealed that their brother had been framed for the tomcat's death, and the real aggressor had been caught and exiled immediately. When Rookstar and the rest of the clan had realized their mistake, that they had banished an innocent cat, they hadn't had any chance at finding the now elusive black tomcat. It was like he had disappeared. Crocusweb was especially left with a deep pit of regret that had built up form the moment he'd found out his brother was innocent. Perhaps his guilt wouldn't have been there had he not been against his brother. Crocusweb was convinced along with the rest of the clan that Barrow was guilty fro Flyfang's murder, which had wrecked their little family of three. Flowersong had been by Barrow's side through it all, up until the moment he was banished form the clan, and it had devastated her just as much as Crocusweb's betrayal to their brother.

Since then, she hadn't wanted much to do with him which tore him up inside because Crocusweb loved his sister. He loved his brother deep down as well, but they had always had a rough relationship growing up so he wasn't sure anything could fix things after what happened. The grey tabby shifted in the spot he occupied, seated on the outskirts of camp while he watched his sister's calico pelt gather with her patrol, waiting himself for a chance to get started with the morning patrols.

For some reason he preferred to sleep on the hard ground than the soft makeshift nest he'd made with his own two paws. He remembered the nests his sister used to make for him, adding moss and duck down to it to make it more comfortable for him. The thought made his heart squeeze in the absence of his sister. He missed Flowersong dearly, but there was now way he'd be able to be with her again the way they used to when they were younger. The only upside was that she often found time to meet with him, so his life wasn't completely void of his beloved sister. The lean black tomcat shifted his hind legs, lifting his head briefly to get comfortable again before he lowered it and rested it on his paws.

He stayed silent as they walked into the forest, her ears were alert for the sounds, and nose smelled the scents of some prey here and there, but as they were going for climbing trees first he ignored them. He looked over to the trees as well "So aren't those good enough to climb at?" he meowed to the warrior his eyes looking up to the large tree.

The she-cat finished grooming herself and found herself irritated with just sitting around, she wasn't getting anything done! Whiterose stood up and shook her fluffy coat before padding out of the camp. Once out into the forest she dashed from shadow to shadow as she looked for something tasty to bring back to camp.

The dark tom huffed as he laid on flat on his belly covered in mud from his failure to catch the mouse. He sulked for a moment before getting up and heading toward the river, his tail flicking in irritation as he stepped into the chilled river to clean the mud off of his pelt. The tom wasn't the most experienced hunter and so he ended up missing many meals but catching just enough to keep him alive. Sure living alone was tough but he'd rather be alone then trapped in a house with the tall creatures.

Whispersong frowned and then gave Mossyshadow a warm smile. "Well, I'm sorry about that." She said again. She didn't know all the details of Mossyshadow's relationship with Duskclaw, but she knew it hadn't ended great. "Hopefully you can move on from that. He can't bother you anymore." She laid down next to the other queen. "And you have plenty of others who will help you." Mossyshadow's brother, for one, and of course herself. Queens ought to stick together and help each other out. Raising kits was certainly not easy. "And I'm always here if you need help."

"Thanks, I'll be okay!" He said, then flopped down and started eating. The squirrel was pretty big since Shiverkit himself was small, so he was a bit tired. He took a bite and then rolled onto his back, batting his paws in the air. "Oh!" Creamflower!" He exclaimed after a moment. "Can you show me how to pounce on stuff better?" He mewed. He wanted to get better so he could catch a mouse or something. And Creamflower was as good as anyone to ask.

"Twistflare, Leafheart," Mistheart called to the two warriors, and then smiled as Twistflare came over. "Twistflare, I was hoping that you and Leafheart could go out on a hunting patrol." She looked over to where Twistflare had come from. She could have sworn she had seen Mothpool. Huh. "Maybe you can grab a few others?" The deputy shrugged. She didn't particularly care who went on the patrol, just as long as the clan was fed. When Weaselpounce came over, she smiled. "Yes, Weaselpounce! Great timing. You can go on the hunting patrol with Twistflare and Leafheart." She said.

As Sealsmog came over, Mistheart smiled. "That sounds good. I've already sent one patrol to go out along our border with CrowClan, mayhbe you can check the other border and go hunting if you have some time." She looked around camp quickly, noticing that Rookstar was up now. "Take Lightningjaw and Coalpaw with you too." She decided. "Great, that should be all then."

"These should work, yes." Chicoryleap said to Dahliapaw. "The most important thing is picking a tree that has branches that can hold your weight. Falling from a tree is dangerous." They walked a bit more to find one with some lower branches so that they could climb back down easier. "And you don't want to get yourself into a tree that you might get stuck in." With a leap, Chicoryleap jumped up into a crook of a tree, then used their claws to bring themselves a bit higher and to perch onto a branch. "Come on up."
