Raingaze

"I know of a few," Raingaze answered Plumsparrow. "I know marigold, dock, catmint, alder, burdock.." the silvery tom trailed off, furrowing his brow as he tried to recall more. "As I kit, I'd always bother the medicine cat and she would put me to work to get me, quite literally, off her tail," he purred, enjoying the fond memories as they came back. "If we see any, I'm sure they'd be put to good use."
At Plumsparrow's sign to stop and hush, he froze and glanced around. The scent of rabbit filled his nostrils and he saw the bunny's ears sticking up through the grass. He crouched and listened to the plan before weaving his way through the undergrowth to get to his position. After a few moments, Raingaze heard Plumsparrow's yowl and soon after the thumping of the rabbit's strong back legs kicking the ground as it ran away. He readied himself and bunched his muscles, preparing to give chase. He's tail thwacked the ground as the tom watched Sparrowtail pounce at the rabbit, but instead go sprawling. Aw, bad luck! he thought. His eyes widened as the rabbit bounded in his direction. Raingaze unsheathed his claws, reared up, and attempted to slam his big white paws down on the rabbit, but unfortunately missed. He tore after the bouncy-brown-blurr, matching it turn for turn. With a final leap, he felt his claws sink into fur. The tom delivered a quick bite and the rabbit went limp. He picked it up and trotted back to his clanmates, struggling to catch his breath through the prey's fluff pressed up against his nose. He dropped it near Plumsparrow and Sparrowtail, waiting patiently to see if they would continue hunting or if they were done for the morning. He gave Sparrowtail's shoulder a friendly headbutt. "You'll have better luck next time," Raingaze purred, hoping the tom wasn't too embarrassed. "Rabbits are tough! Too quick for their own good!"
