___ The sound of the water lapping at the edge of the fountain had almost been unheard, with the slightly louder sound of the fountain's downpour, Reo continued to enjoy the scene of his new home. That was, until water did what water does... drip. The young man smirked, he already knew who was behind the few stray drops that had fallen from the wall of water behind him. "Would you really soak someone on their first night in their new home... in front of of all of his superiors- oh wait- his superior is the one going to soak him, how commendable," he quipped, balling his hand into a fist by his side. Slowly, Reo extended his fingers, causing the water to disappate into a mist, still getting him wet, but not nearly as wet as he would have been. The redhead could have easily redirected the water wall to his leutenient, but he was too kind for that.
___"Tarkik, you forget I enjoy ambient bending..." he laughed a bit, pushing himself up from the edge of the fountain and turning to face his friend with a smile. Ambient bending was the practice of changing water between physical states. Liquid water to a solid or gas, and any other interchangeable pathway. "Have you enjoyed yourself so far?" he asked, tilting his head a bit as he raised a brow. "It seemed to me, that the Princess's speech was not to your liking?" he asked, curious if he was adjusting as well as Reo was, which was not well at all. The water tribe they belonged to had been so focused on generational living, being on their own for the first time was unsettling and it usually put a person off of their normal self, or most behaved self.

___โThank you,โ a young man thanked the old couple on the island. โI really appreciate everything you have done for me,โ he added with a smile and soft bow to the elders before grabbing the small bag at his feet. Hisashi had spent the last few years taking residence in their shed, it was the only place he could afford for the cheap price of manual labor and he had grown quite close to the pair. They often liked to tell stories of the past, and they had a decently large family which allowed him to be well socialized among many different ages and knowing them had only helped him get to know the island. Every family had their own set of stories, and with each story, it made him hungrier for a connection to the people in his culture. The fire nationโs history, the culture, stories and traditions were all he really all he had, after losing his father and never really having a mother.
___That was after all, how he came to be the chosen Historian of the Fire District. His dedication was unprecedented to others up for the position, and he was glad to accept since he knew he had learned all there was on the island. Now, he could mingle with all the individuals from other parts of the fire nation, get new perspectives, and more history where his knowledge lacked. Hisashi was already learning things from the moment he left the island. Hisashi felt like he was probably the most lavish setting he had ever even imagined, from the boat that took him back to the mainland, to the ship that took them to the capitol city. The architecture of the buildings and statues was breathtaking and as much as Hisashi was a quiet, calm, and reserved guy, he could not help but feel the need to explore right away.
___Of course, there was the matter of the gathering with the other representatives. The young man tried his best to take in what he could on his way to the city, and of course not run into anyone by mistake. Anyone would have likely been a bit embarrassed about the clothing he had been able to come up with to such a formal event, but Hisashi was just happy to be there.
