Some of us don't want to quit because we have a hard time of letting go, some of us still come back to this site just to adopt the monthly pets. Some of us worked really hard for what we have today and don't want to quit, the spark may fade but it doesn't mean we want to let go and quit.

i get what you mean when you say some traders come of as rude (especially in high-demand/rarity trades) but for the most part, i'd say the community is really friendly here and there's often people trying to work out trades with you or gifting <3 i especially noticed that when you trade more common pets, trading goes super smoothly c: but when your WL is mostly old/high-demand/rare pets, trading could become pretty difficult and sometimes frustrating:(

personally, i took a hiatus for most of 2016-2020 (quarantine brought me back hehe) and it was nice to see all these new designs and fun trading for them! but when you play constantly, the site can seem to be a bit stagnant and this is most strongly felt between events. still, i also can't bring myself to quit completely as so many of my pets are so nostalgic to me c: i just continue to look forward to new pet/item designs and trading and checking the pound when i have time.

it's inevitable to find rude users on any social site/game honestly..

i don't know how i feel about the cs spark fading, but realistically speaking probably yes,
since the game was rapidly growing with new users and new pet designs a few years ago,
youtubers were talking about it, (i found cs from animal jam youtubers)
but like any game, especially ones that have been running for over 10 years, of course
    it's gonna get boring overtime

i just try to learn how to not take sites or games like these too seriously anymore
to only come here for relaxation, not stress

Not in the slightest to be honest!
I'm here almost exclusively for the pet collecting and trading. And I'm not viewing CS as a game per se, but just as a little extra guaranteed joy in my daily life. I just adopt everything by the start of the month and then just watch the cute and pretty pets grow as the days go by. I could do this to the end of my days.
And then I of course also join the events and maintain my collection by trading for missed outcomes but that's as gamey as it gets for me.
Recently I've even gotten my proper trading spark back and I want to get those 5 URs I've missed over the last few years so I can complete my collection again.

However, the forum and community part of the site has been dead for years for me. Used to be much more active on the forums back in the day but I just can't stand how pc and squeaky clean the forums have become. It started a long time ago and have just gotten progressively worse over the years. And now I simply don't want to post in the forums anymore.
This is not an issue I have with CS exclusively though, this is an issue I have with the western culture in general. Truly disappointing and also slightly terrifying to just watch as our freedom to speak just... dwindles away anywhere you look.

I technically started playing in 2011 (logged on once in 2010), and in those past 9/10 years I've never considered leaving Chicken Smoothie. Have I lost interest at times? Yeah, definitely. From 2017 to 2019 I only adopted special event pets, and when I missed the Easter event twice, I barely cared. But there are some reasons why I stayed, like the forums and the events. But honestly, the biggest reason why I've stayed is because CS is my home. I've been here for a long time--I've grown a lot on here and in real life. I don't even care that much about the pets anymore (even if I never finished my rat collection...), I'm just here because I feel like I belong here. It's a part of my childhood that I'm way too attached to, and I like it that way.

So right now, I still feel the CS "spark". But I know what it's like to lose that spark. I really do hope that something new happens and everyone will be excited all over again, but I don't know what that something is!

I remember that. That was a strange time since I don't think such a gap has existed since then.
Was it because we couldn't trade for C$ directly?
Was there some kind of ban on offside trading?

I kind of remember this, not sure of the reasons though

I recently returned after a 3-4 year hiatus and it definitely feels different.
I was unsettled to learn that that list system was dismantled and feel very uncomfortable making high value trades now.
(I'm scared about trying to find/trade for this UR peach to complete my BW collection yet again...)
Even the forums I used to peruse are gone now.

BUT there are still kind-hearted people on here that I enjoy chatting with that makes it worth coming back to.
