Spirepaw watched the medicine cat and his apprentice prepare the body for the vigil near the apprentice den. He sat on his favorite rock, his mind turning like a rusty machine. He continued spectating the preparation, chewing his tounge slightly.

Since waking up, all Gullpaw had heard about was talk of a murder, a killing in their clan. The thought of investigating was almost alluring, however the small apprentice knew his place. Still in the apprentice's den, Gullpaw began to mutter to himself, thinking up possibilities and jumping to conclusions before bracing himself and stepping out of the den. Immediately, he was hit with a strong sense of dread; the air was thick with sorrow and mystery. One glance towards the body was all he needed. It certainly wasn't a nice sight, not at all, and he found himself recoiling in dismay. Truthfully, Gullpaw had not known who the victim was. So to see his mentor, laying dead on the ground, was rather chilling.

Silverkit poked her head out of the nursery, wondering what the clan was doing. Tail flicking, she quietly climbed out of the den, looking back to the sleeping forms of the queen and kit still inside. Why is everyone so sad? she thought to herself, before glancing over at Spiderpaw and Daydream, and saw the where working on something. Padding over to them, she finally saw what was going on, and froze in shock and worry as she heard the clan saying that Dipperstrike had been murder.

the murmurs of dipperstrike's death hung in lilywhisker's ears as she sat a little while off from the body, eyeing it over with a furrowed brow. claw marks and fur that didn't belong to dipperstrike were found at the scene. an obvious scuffle. there were accusations of nurder hanging in the air, and lilywhisker can't say she wasn't on edge. "who would do something like this?" she thought to herself, pressing her tongue to the back of her paw and drawing it over the back of her ear, "the world is cruel, sure, but- who would murder a clanmate like that?"
