Scar's Pride (Lion King)-Open-RP Thread

(NOTE: The original idea for this rp came from kesshowolf, and I have permission to remake this. Message me for proof!)

(The roleplay takes place when Scar becomes the king in the movie before Simba's return.)

It is a new era where lion and hyena live together under the eyes of the tyrannical Scar. The past is buried underneath the bones of the lionesses that dare to protest against his reign. The leering gazes of the hyenas peer out from the shadows, waiting for their next feast whether it be lion, hyena, or a creature from the Pridelands. Their never-ending hunger seeps through the pride, making it harder and harder to please them as they get greedier and greedier. When a lioness refuses, they are reported to Scar. Lions and hyenas are always at eachother's necks with teeth bared. Some nights, hyenas and lions will go missing from the darkness of the night. And yet, Scar still demands that they work together. The lions and hyenas are both forced to sleep outside as Scar has made the den into his own personal cave for him and his three goons: Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed. Zazu now serves as a personal jester for the king as he has his own personal jail in Scar's den. The Pridelands are slowly deteriorating and falling apart within Scar's claws as he demands respect and flashes his authority with his overbearing stares, and all the lionesses can do is weep.

While everything is occurring, Scar is simply a tyrannical leader. Anyone who challenges him is struct down. Corruption reigns over the Pride as he favors the hyenas over the lions. He makes sure that everyone is well aware of his presence and status. His queen still remains to be unnamed. However, he has since mated with a few lionesses and they have produced his cubs. He isn't the best father. However, he is desperately trying in his own way to become a good king. Even though he has been corrupted by the hyenas, he is doing his best. He is hoping, along with the lionesses that accept him, that having cubs would help with his image overall.

Each lioness and hyena has differing opinions on whether or not he is a good leader or not. Views of him range from being selfish to superb. That all depends on the creature at hand. Some hyenas believe the same as the lionesses while others pretend to agree before running off to tell Scar. Rumors are spreading throughout Pride Rock about whether or not be murdered his own family so that he may assume the throne himself.

Pride Laws

(They may be broken)

1.) You must obey all of Scar's orders.
2.) Do not question Scar.
3.) Do not challenge Scar.
4.) Do not defy Scar.
5.) Do not disobey Scar.
6.) All lionesses must hunt for the hyenas, but hyenas may join in. (Mothers Excused)
7.) All hyenas eat before lionesses.
8.) No speaking of his brother nor his nephew.
9.) No lions may hurt a hyena and vice vera.
10.) Scar's cubs must not be harmed and must be protected at ALL times.
11.) Scar, his queen (if he has one), and his cubs must eat first.
12.) No romances other than with Scar (hyenas not included).
13.) Whatever Scar says is law.
14.) If exiled, you are not allowed to return to the Pridelands.
15.) Anyone that was exiled and is found in the Pridelands must be chased out or killed.
16.) No one is allowed to mate with an exiled.
17.) Jesters and other low ranking forms are not allowed to have mates.

1. All Tess/CS rules apply.
2. You may have as many characters as you want, but KEEP UP with them.
3. Lions reach maturity at age 4-5 years old. Hyenas reach maturity at about a year old (in this rp).
4. You MUST have 3-5 sentences per character per post. Don't make them super short either.
5. Everylion believes that Simba and Mufasa are dead.
6. All lions must be realistic. (No brightly colored purple eyes/coat like Vitani's eyes in Lion King 2)
7. No OP/immunized characters. All characters get hurt, tired, ill, etc. sometimes.
8. Drama is definitely acceptable! Don't be afraid to make some tea or spill some tea.

9. OOC and forms go on the discussion thread.

All the lions and hyenas were gathered around the bottom of Pride Rock as Scar had gathered everyone for a meeting. He addressed some new laws along with the punishments that would go with them. The generals sat behind Scar on the rock, closer to the den. They were visible to everyone as they sat there respectfully, listening to him.

Scar lifted his chin as his glaring green eyes glared at the crowd with corrupt authority. "And if any of you disobey my law, you know what will happen." Scar turned around as the wind caught his mane, blowing it elegantly in the wind. "Meeting dismissed." He made his way to his den. "Generals, we have things to discuss. Come see me in my den." He walked into his den.

Shenzi|General|Location:Pride Rock|Tag(s):Hiari

Shenzi jumped down from Pride Rock, and she walked over to Hiari. "Remember to always obey what Scar says, Hiari." She said as she used her paw to pat the top of Hiari's head. "I need to go discuss a few things with Scar. Don't go too far away from Pride Rock." Shenzi turned before running off to Scar's den.

Hiari|Cub|Location:Pride Rock|Tag(s): Shenzi, Open

Hiari was at the bottom of Pride Rock with everyone else, watching Scar address the pride. Afterward, she looked over at Shenzi. Her tail wagged as Shenzi came over, and she let out a soft, playful growl as she was patted on the head. "Okay, Auntie!" Hiari chimed happily as Shenzi ran off. She turned and looked around, wondering about what she should do for now.

Diata|Hunter|Location:Pride Rock|Tags:Open

After the meeting, Diata went over to the area where lionesses usually went to relax (where Simba went to get nala). She laid down in the shade, having nothing better to do for the moment as no hunting parties had been formed yet. Diata rested her head on her paws and looked up at the sky.

Gathii|Outsider|Location:Water Hole|Tags:Eze, Open

Gathii walked over to the water source and dipped his head. He lapped up the water, paying Eze no mind. The old lion closed his eyes as he drank, enjoying the sounds of nature around them in the pridelands.

Eze|Outsider|Location:Water Hole|Tags:Gathii, Open

Eze followed Gathii to the Water Hole. His eyes scanned the rest of the animals that were at the Water Hole, and an idea sparked in his head. He crouched down, and he crept over to a merekat while hidden. He then jumped out and yelled, "boo!" at the merekat. It jumped, screamed, and ran away. Eze giggled at the sight.

Her claws drug across the ground as Scar finished the meeting, calling his generals away with him. A growl threatened to rear its head, but she held it back punishment was not something she wanted. Nudging her two cubs, she followed Diata, using her tail to motion to Nadira and Abasi to follow. It wasn't a long trek but she was already tired, not physically, but mentally and emotionally. Turning her dark red-orange hued eyes to her eldest cub. "Nadira, Scar will probably be calling another hunt soon. As I will be here with your brother, you are to be on your best behavior. If I find out you've screwed around again, there will be words." She said, we can not afford to go hungry again. Turning her gaze to her son she chuckled," And you are not to get into trouble, or I might have your father give you talking too."

Badru

Bright copper eyes flickered across the barren area, the scent of prey something that was rare in this area. Though with the hyena's mostly back in the pridelands, he was much safer in this area. Though it was rare for anything living to come here anymore, he did find it funny that many elephants came here to die. So it was a relatively easy source of food. Padding out of the large elephant skull that he called home, Badru started to head towards the source of the scent, hoping to find a sick or elder elephant coming here to die.

Nadira

Her gaze didn't leave Scars form for a short time, following his shape as he left. Gaze narrowing a tiny bit the pale coated feline, sighed as her mother silently ordered her to follow. Nipping her brothers growing mane as she followed after their mother the glowing-eyed female sat next to older lioness waiting to be addressed. Nadira internally grimaced as her mother essentially told her not to make any waves, but nodded. While hunting was one of her greatest joys she hated the involvement of the Hyenas. Rolling her shoulder Nadira spoke up," I'll do my best mother." Nadira had takin it upon herself to get onto his good side, in hopes that she'd be able to protect her family more.

Abasi
1 year | Male | Cub
Location: Pride Rock | Tags: Jiona, Nadira, Open

Though it didn't show on his face, Abasi was in awe of his father; who ruled with an iron paw. From a young age, Abasi yearned to emulate the older male, and possibly become king after him. Though there was still a lot of work do to, and growing as well. Shook out of his thoughts by his mother, and then again by his sister nip, the dark-coated male snarled after his sister and followed the two lionesses. He hated gatherings but hated that after every one his mother would pull both him and his sister away to talk to them even more. But he'd put up with it. He held back a snicker as his mother addressed Nadira first, but grimaced as the old lioness turned her dark gaze to him. Lips curling back into a momentary sneer, he huffed, remembering the last time he'd caused trouble. He'd been found messing with a few outsiders. "Of course mother, I won't let you down." He said, a bit half-heartedly.

Hiari|Cub|Location:Pride Rock|Tag(s): Abasi, Open

Hiari's eyes went over to Abasi as he went with his family. An idea seemed to spark in the young hyena, and she slipped into the shadows to follow them. She crouched down as if stalking Abasi, and her tail wagged playfully as she did. Once she got the chance, she ran towards him, and she would probably be easily detected and seen. She jumped and attempted to tackle Abasi, letting out a playful growl. Since there weren't many other cubs to play with, she would naturally go for the nearest cub to play with. "I'm gonna get you!" She playfully yelped as she launched herself towards him. She paid no mind to the others around them.

Diata|Hunter|Location:Pride Rock|Tags:Jiona, Nadira, Abasi, Hiari

Diata raised her head and looked at the other lionesses. She looked over at Abasi with a small hint of jealousy in her eyes before they shifted back to Jiona and Nadira. She thought for a moment before looking at Abasi once more. "You wouldn't want to get in trouble Abasi. You mustn't let your father down, you know. It'd be a shame if you had to be punished." As innocent as the words were by themselves, there was a hint of poison in her tone. She looked over at Nadira and said, "I wonder what prey will be out and about today. Wouldn't mind snagging a juicy antelope." Her gaze turned to the flying Hiari, and she simply blinked at the scene.

12 years | Female | Mother (Head Hunter)
Location: Pride Rock | Tags: Nadira, Abasi, Diata, Open

Fighting a smirk off her maw, Jiona was thankfully able to keep a full-blown smirk off her face but wasn't able to stop her twitching lips. She stayed silent as both Abasi and then Nadira made harsh retorts to the hunter. Though her stomach churned at the thought of her son being more like his father in more than appearance. While it was true, it wasn't something she liked a lot. Hopefully, they'd be able to stop that. Mentally shaking those thoughts away she sighed, and started to reminisce about the days before Mufasa died, and farther back when Diata was still a cub. All things start out innocent, its experience that makes us cruel. She thought ruefully.

Badru

The closer he got to the scent the more he was able to recognize it, antelope. Not the biggest meal, but if eaten in careful segments he could make this meal last a day or two. Now it wasn't often animals other than Elephants came to die here, and he often wished that smaller mammals would choose to come here. Elephant hide was tough, and he often spent a large amount of time chewing the elephants hide open so he could get to the meat. There was also the part where there was so much meat on one elephant, it was nearly impossible for one lone lion to eat a whole elephant before the meat spoiled. At least not without gorging himself and getting a horrid stomach ache afterward. So yes, Badru was very thankful that an antelope had come.

Nadira

Irritation bubbled in her gut, Diata had always been an annoyance. While only a few years apart in age, the older lioness had always tried to make things harder for everyone else. And oddly enough, Nadira didn't care much when the female was targetting her but tended to get a little annoyed when it came to others, her family especially. Letting her brother get his cut of flesh in a metaphorical way, Nadira stood once her brother left. " Last I checked, the head hunter or Scar chose what we hunted, not wasteful carcasses like you. You could go request something from Shenzi and Scar but I'm not sure if they're in the mood to do so." She turned and padded away a few feet before pausing, then adding, "And just in case you forget, once Abasi's old enough to watch himself, Jiona will be taking her rightful place as the head hunter." She snickered before trotting away.

Abasi

A harsh huff of breath escaped him as Hiari tackled him, causing him to stumble but not fall over. Ignoring the cub for a moment he turned his face to Diata. His lips curled back a look of rancor flashing across his face as Diata spoke and interrupted before Jiona or Nadira could speak up. "I'd mind your own business warthog." A cruel grin flashed across his face, "After all, I do take after my father in more than just appearance." With that, the male gently nudged Hiari off of him, then in a softer tone said," Let's go somewhere else." Then without waiting for a reply the male got up and started to pad away.
