Plumpup groaned, and covered her face with her paw, as she heard Oreopup's high-pitched voice. She then soon sighed in relief as Oreopup went away, but Plumpup immediately got up as what Oreopup had said processed through her head. Plumpup quickly walked to the mouth of the cave and yelled, I swear if you even glance at my food I'll make sure that out packers eat your flea-bitten hide! She growled under her breath at the prospect of having to race after her sister to make sure that Oreopup wouldn't touch her food, Do you hear me Oreopup?! Not one glance! She yelled, running towards her.

Daisypup looked at Fallensnow’s body before quickly supporting the other half of her. “I can help you Eaglepaw. I helped comfort Fallensnow when she was having her pups, I can at least help her body get buried.” Daisypup said. She waited for instructions. Daisypup didn’t mind carrying Fallensnow. It was like she was helping her adoptive mother Rest In Peace. Sure she still had her scent but it was mixed with death. The older pup decided she would wash off after the burial and before she went to see the pups. Hopefully Nightpaw could keep them entertained awhile.

Standing at the camp entrance, she beckoned at Daisypup and Eaglepaw to follow her out. Her heart tightened as Plumpup and Oreopup rushed out of the nursery. Thankfully, they were too busy running to the fresh-kill pile. As Daisypup and Eaglepaw carried Fallensnow, Emberstorm led them away from camp and to where Moosestar was buried. She could still tell where his body was by the difference in the soil. She dropped Ashpaw's body. A few feet away from Moosestar's burial area, she started to dig. "You guys can start digging over there." She motioned them to dig at an area beside her.

Daisypup nodded and started to dig a hole. She wanted to make it big enough so it fit Fallensnow’s body perfectly. What do I tell the pups? I’ll definitely have to keep my eyes on them. Fallensnow would want me to look after them. Like a good older sister. She thought. The thoughts gave her enough motivation to keep digging. In no time she had made a nice wide hole in the ground and worked on making it a bit deeper.

Oreopup grinned wickedly, her face wreathed in her obvious pride in having woken up her sister successfully. "I'd eat all the mice in the world to get your tail out from under your rump, Plumpup," she said cheerfully, selecting a minute mouse from the pile. Oreopup tore into it quickly, enjoying the flavor. "Mmm... I think I'd say that this is the juiciest mouse in the pile, Plumpup," she mumbled through her full mouth. Hah! "Definitely juicier than yours, anyways." Oreopup enjoyed aggravating her older sister perhaps more than anything else. It was extremely entertaining to tease her, and although it may have seemed a bit cruel, it was how the younger pup expressed her love for her sister. "Oh!" She yelped suddenly as she recognized the dog standing a short distance away. "Hi Nightpaw!"

Eaglepaw focused on digging the hole, trying to make sure not to spray Daisypup with the soil as he dug. I'm glad we get to put her to rest, he thought. And I guess I must thank Starpack for giving me the chance to say hello to her just this morning before she died. So I could see her one last time. The hole was now getting quite large, and Eaglepaw was pretty certain that it would now hold Fallensnow easily. "Emberstorm? Is it deep enough?" he asked tentatively, trying to avoid looking directly into the face of both Ashpaw and Fallensnow's bodies. It was unsettling, and the apprentice wasn't sure if he was ready for that.

She didn't really like digging. The feeling of soil between her claws was annoying. But she kept digging. That looks big enough. She dropped Ashpaw's body into it. She looked over at Daisypup and Eaglepaw. "Yea, that should be big enough. Let's cover them up." She started to fill the hole with soil. She took one last look at Ashpaw's face before it was covered. It looked so innocent. How could this happen? He would have been a great medicine dog. She shook her head. She finished patting down the soil. Emberstorm looked over at how they were doing with Fallensnow.

Daisypup looked at Fallensnow’s face. It looked like she was asleep, but Daisypup knew she was dead. “I just wish you had some more time with the pups.” She said, before finally covering Fallensnow completely. Daisypup hates dirt but didn’t mind burying someone she had been close with. “Ashpaw really would have made a great medicine dog.” She added. Daisypup wondered who’s the next medicine dog apprentice would be.
