Nicholas wrinkled his nose slightly and tried to reply but he only let out a raspy sounding exhale. He shrugged his shoulders and gestured to his throat and mouth, he couldn't speak. He pointed back to her and ran a finger down his cheek, trying to ask her why she was crying. He couldn't speak but he could listen awfully good.


Acanthus nodded his head. He understood but he still wished he could rest for awhile. His golden eye seemed to glow in the moonlight and his sense seemed to spark, getting more aware of his dark surroundings more aware of his the enemy territory.

Nicholas raised an eyebrow, he could tell a lie from the truth in a heartbeat. 1: Because being mute made his other sense better. 2: Because his mother was Lady Justice, who spoke only truth and could not be lied to.
Nicholas sifted slightly so his piercing blue eyes were boring through her. He made a gesture, he wasn't going to let her by until she told him why she was sad. It wasn't like he was going to go tell the whole camp that he saw the Roman crying.
