Attack: Melli closes her eyes just in time and worries momentarily about the feeling of deju vu. She got through the portal by throwing dust in the eyes of her friends and now this beast.. A rock hit her in the shoulder and the feeling faded. The creature may be furious but she is more so. Or maybe just equally so.

Letaba screeches at the beasts attack but luckily through the turned up soil she found a glass human baby bottle she picked it up with her teeth shattering it against the tree before attacking the beast again. While Diablo is trying to get himself out of the tree.

Attack: After managing to outrun the onslaught of rocks and dirt, Shrike turns around, hissing. Fur on edge, he runs back to the monster, grabbing hold of its many tendrils, climbing higher and higher, hoping to reach its eyes and find a way to blind it.

Worm runs back and forth, dodging between the dirt and stones flung her way. She winces as one of the sharp stones grazes her fur, scratching her. She charges back in, ready to attack the beast head on once again. The enemy directs its breath at Worm. Aluraune jumps in the fray, wrapping her magic sapping vines around one of the creature's limbs, just enough to redirect its breath away from Worm and give her the opportunity to charge ahead and sink her claws into the beast.

The creature is unappreciative of their attempts to claw its face - naturally - and Cold barely dodges its flames as Kina tries and fails to scratch at its eyes. He darts away, ready to regroup, only to see that Kina has continued to throw herself into the fight, dodging the beast’s jaws as she once again leaps at its face.

Idiot, he groans to himself, shaking his fur out before winding up to rush in again, she doesn’t even consider backing down so we can come up with a better plan. She’s going to get herself killed. And Cole couldn’t have that.

Attack: Chetan narrows his eyes at the beast, sizing it up while it no doubt did the same. Maybe he could target the vines between the gaps in its wooden body? The creature snorted a green plume of flame, sending a cold pulse of fear down his spine. He'd have to be fast. Setting his jaw, Chetan charged head-on at the beast, faking out at the last second to leap into its side in an attempt to break its wooden body or barrel it over.

Attack: Ichyr lunged for the beast, dodging a blast of fire as he tore his unnaturally sharp claws into its leg, satisfied when he heard the ripping of age-old wood. Ichyr then retreated, heading back to the ranks behind him.

Lucian hadn't felt as if he needed to use his powerful magic quite yet.

He sized up the creature, looking for a weak point; he wasn't quite sure how to take it down, but he felt as if he needed to strike, soon. He had seen the damage Orpheus had done to it and decided it was now his turn to be a hero.
He looked aside to what some of the other felines were doing to the creature; some were aiming for its leg, some were using magic - like Orpheus - in order to deal their damage.

Like I said.

Although he didn't have the benefit of pure strength that came naturally to some - he wasn't a lion, after all - he lunged for a weak spot in an effort to tear some of the wood from its body. Perhaps if he dug in deep he'd be able to leave something that would mattered; perhaps he could slow the creature down, or stop it from attacking back at a fellow ally.
Lucian just wanted to do what he could to prove that he could fight this creature efficiently, too; he struck as hard and deep as he possibly could.

Attack: Leafdapple warily stalked around the creature, eyeing its solid oak body. Every time it's large feet hit the ground, the earth shook, and she could hear the creak of age-old wood. It was strong and large, but it's strength was also its weakness: it was slow and unable to maneuver its body the way she could. The gaps in its body -- old wounds, perhaps? -- were promising; the surrounding wood was bound to be less stable and easier to crack.
She darted forward, the creature's strong claws lunging in her direction. She was faster, but not fast enough; the tip of one of the creature's claws pierced her upper ear, sending a gust of wind strong enough to knock her to ground. She scrambled to her feet, blood welling in the wound in her ear, and she tried again. Running with all the power her legs could give her, she eyed the creature's body for an opening -- anything to take advantage of. Its back foot slammed into the ground, sending a tremor that nearly toppled her. There -- the left leg. There was a large gap just above its foreleg, and the wood surrounding it was thin enough for her to grab. She surged forward, leaping up at the weaker leg and digging her claws in. She sunk her teeth into the thin wood, hearing a satisfying splinter before the creature threw her off. She scrambled to her feet and shook the dirt off her fur before bounding back towards the safety of her colony to clean the wound in her ear.

Attack: Katara runs at the creature, leaping up to the branches of a tree above and colliding down upon it when it least expects it. She lashes out with her claws and her teeth, doing the most damage she can until the creature throws her off.
