mwezi couldn't keep her eyes off the new male that had joined. raza had seemed to be jealous, since maua captivated so much of his mentor's attention. mwezi didn't care, though, she had spent day and night trying to find the right words to ask the handsome male to become king. building up a mass of courage, she decided now would be a good time. she rose to her paws. walking confidently towards him, she puffed out her chest and swayed her tail, looking as regal as she could. "hello, maua." she greeted, trying to push down the butterflies that swirled around in her stomach. he looked up. "morning, my queen." he purred "how can i help you?" at that moment, all idea of what she was going to say melted away. his winning smile and the way the sun brightened up his unique mane turned her into mush. she shook her head gently. "sorry to bother you." she giggled "b-but i wanted to ask you something." maua nodded, and gestured for her to sit. the queen laid down and tried to quickly come up with something to say. "l-look, i'm not sure how to say this exactly. i really like you. you've been a great friend this moon, and you've proven yourself a strong, loyal...handsome male." she shuffled her paws as her companion grinned sheepishly. "i was just wondering if you'd maybe...i dunno...become my mate? and the king of the pride. i really believe you can do it." maua licked his lips. "mwezi, i never thought you would have feelings for me." he admitted "i really like you, too. i would be honored to be your mate and your king. i can't wait to grow closer to you and raise royal cubs." he leaned in and pushed his head against hers, purring loudly. mwezi felt joy fill her heart. she breathed in deeply, taking his floral scent, and rubbed her cheek against his. she pulled away and grinned widely at her new king. her pride was finally going to grow the way it should.

"You're...sure, that you're old enough for training?" Honeydew asked, yellow eyes glinting with
concern. He frowned down at the pink cub, who was beaming up at him, brilliant white teeth
flashed into a grin as brilliant as his namesake.

Sunbeam's head bobbed happily. "Mhm!" he chirped. "I'm six months, in my old pride, that's old
to be training, but my mom wanted to wait until I was totally weaned before they kicked me
out, and since I'm a boy, I had to leave. I've been wandering for almost TWO. WHOLE. MOONS.
I'm WAY more than ready to start training." Sunbeam bounced on his paws, ignoring the
utterly flabbergasted expression planted on Honeydew's face. "So what do we do first?"
Sunbeam asked, tilting his head slightly.

Speckle snorted "We don't do anything. Honeydew's my mentor. Remember? Rusty is going
to train you."

Sunbeam turned his head to look at the other lion, and beamed "OH YEAH!" he shouted, turning
and bolting over to the red and brown lion. "So what are we gonna do? Are we gonna hunt?"
Sunbeam let out a gasp that sounded far too loud to have come from even a full grown lion.
"ARE WE GONNA FIGHT?!?!"

Rusty shot Midnight a Help me!! look, but the lioness just snorted, sitting down and shrugging
her shoulders as she watched with a half delighted half smug expression. "We're...just patrolling,
today, starting you off easy. I don't want to push you too hard," Rusty said slowly. "You're barely
more than a cub 'beam."

Sunbeam frowned. "But, patrolling is just walking, and OBV-USLY I know how to do that!"

Midnight let out a noise that sounded suspiciously like a giggle, and Rusty frowned at her, before
turning his attention back to the pink cub at his paws. "Alright um, well first of all it's a lot more
than that, when you patrol-"

"YOU MEAN IT'S SPECIAL WALKING?!?!" Sunbeam demanded, jaws parting as he stared up at Rusty
with golden eyes that looked like they'd just discovered the secret to unending prey.

"Um....yeah, let's...let's go with that."

"SPECKLE!" Sunbeam shouted, turning with wide eyes to the other choir member. "IM GONNA LEARN
HOW TO SPECIAL WALK!"

Make sure your prides have access to a reliable source of water and be caution on patrols as heat strokes and dehydration can happen more often.

⟿lilly goes into labor! she gives birth to three cubs total. unfortunately, without the presence of a shaman to ensure things go smoothly, one of the cubs dies shortly after birth due to complications and and another cub is born completely deaf. (you get to choose which).

⟿while patroling the territory, daisai & sam find the trespasser; he is aggressive at first and attacks Sam; Sam is a bit bruised and beaten but nothing serious. Sam will need 1 moon of rest to recover. After calming him down, the trespasser seems willing to consider joining the pride.

Asher's colored tail flicked slightly as they watched the other lions in the camp. They had never been really big
on prides, having been born in one and thrown out when it became too large. Their gray eyes scanned the other
lions, there were only seven of them, eight counting Asher, which meant overcrowding shouldn't become an issue...

"Ash!" Jayde called. Asher turned and smiled at the black-maned lion, who had been theirs and Acacia's traveling
companion for several weeks before they'd all found Dusk's Dawn. The trio had bonded, and even though
none of them had come from the same pride, they'd still become extremely close friends.

"Hey Jay." Asher said, "Where's Aci?"

"On patrol, I think." Jayde answered, sitting next to Asher and flopping forward, their small mane ruffling slightly
with the movement. "And you and me are supposed to go hunting, with the king and one of the lionesses after
the two of them get back from chasing down some intruder that they scented, or something like that."

Asher hummed, and flicked their tail. "Well, if we have to wait, I'm gonna go take a nap." they said, yawning.

⟿while patroling the territory, mwamba finds a trio of lions/lionesses; aro (afab),trans (afab), &intersex (amab). apparently the trio comes from different prides but all left their birth places due to judgment over their gender identity and/or sexual orientation; they met each other during their wanderings and have become very close since then. they will only join a pride now if all three of them are accepted.
