He got up and stretched. He then left his den to see that the leader and deputy were around a large wet body. His eyes widened

Spirepaw walked out of the apprentice den, woken by the commotion in the camp. When he spotted the body and the huddle, he stood there, watching the body. He stepped closer to the group, his eyes cloudy in thought, his jaw hanging open slightly.

"That's not good. Our clan has already been dwindling these hard past moons." Whitecall replied. "I agree, we should have Daydream take a look at her body. I hope she reached Starclan safely."
The white tom turned towards the medicine cat. "Daydream! Come quickly, please. We'd like you to examine her and confirm a cause of death."
Whitecall hoped that this would be a one-time thing. Some petty grudge against one cat. Such things were more easily sorted out. If somecat wanted to watch Riverclan burn... at this time, it might happen too easily for him and his Clanmates.

Silverkit blinked as she poked her head out of the den, wondering what what was going. Giving a little squeak of portest as Spiderpaw came in, she sighed as she was hearded back to Ravenwillow. "Fine," she mumbled, ears straining to hear what the apprintce said to the queen. "Fallenkit, get up!" she meowed, trying to wake the tom kit up.

Carefully, Wolfstar moved away from Dipperstrike so Daydream could work. A strange, nauseous feeling suddenly caught up with him and he sat down slowly, curling his thick tail around his paws. There had to be retribution, he thought, looking around at the faces of his clanmates. Somebody had to pay for the murder and be exiled from the clan. The weight of those words laid heavy on his chest and he took a deep breath. The life of his clan is worth more than one cat. It was his duty as leader to realize that, and so, he sat their quietly and let his clanmates make their own conclusions.

Daydream approached the body of his clanmate. He picked up the paws of dipper dipperstrike to see if they had caught fur of the perpetrator. "Whoever committed the crime did it while their back was turned. I don't believe in it being an accident. I mean the river has been high lately but every cat knows boundaries when its like that, " he said thoughtfully. He touched the cold body. "Star clan please keep dipperstrike safe. And let our clan know they've arrived safe," he whispered. He looked to his companions. "Only thing I'm sure of is it was one of our clanmates. There was no scent other than the river and river clan," he said slightly horrified

"Wolfstar, we'll have to do something to locate the murderer as fast as possible. We can't waste time." Whitecall said, sighing a little. He wasn't entirely sure what to do, but he knew he needed to protect his clanmates.

After his meeting with Ravenwillow the nervous mess of an apprentice found himself prepping Dipperstrike's body for the vigil. Helping spread mint to hide the lingering scent of death as Daydream worked alongside with more experienced paws. Wolfstar and Whitecall had been in a meeting going over the clues found for what felt like ages. The wait causing the tom to become even more jumpy than usual at unannounced approaches. 'How could anyone from our clan do this?' Tail flicking at a constant rate Spiderpaw sent a silent prayer to Starclan. Hoping that Dipperstrike would be their only casualty.

Daydream helped his apprentice prepare the body. "Its awful," he mumbled.
