The large white and brown tabby tom ran through the scenery enjoying the thrill of the hunt. With a mighty leap a rabbit hung in his jaws. CedarStripe then proceeded back to camp dropping it into the pile. He needed to tell the leader what he scented today, he hoped Lightningstar was in his den.

The small white and grey queen watched as her kit bombard poor WrenSong with so many questions she thought the warriors ears would fall off. She looked over only to still and stare at the spot her Cloudkit. "Cloudkit? Where are you?" Suddenly a scream tore through her. "Cloudkit!!!!!"

The fluffy white and heterochromia eyed kitten had snuck away and was running as fast as his little legs could handle. He had found himself staring at a strange smelling cat he didn't recognize. He ran towards the smell and found a strange scared looking tom cat with a dark green collar around his neck.


Moss

Moss was a house pet just days ago and found himself scared in an unfamiliar area. Everything was scary. The white cat dappled with greys and black along his tail and back shivered in fear. Large orange scared eyes flashed in terror as he heard a strange noise. Looking down a white fluffy kitten stared up at him with mismatched eyes.

“That sounds like an excellent idea. Pod could have a break and be free to do whatever he would like. I’m sure being a mentor keeps him too busy to have much time to himself.” Smokepaw agreed. Thistlereed was pretty smart and kind. Thistlereed would make a great deputy someday, if he ever wanted the position. She thought.

“From watching every mentor they take more time preparing you apprentices for the journey ahead. They usually think about how they do things versus the build of their apprentice sometimes. For example my mentor was thinner built and wiry meaning they were faster. And as you can see I’m a bigger and broader build, I’m built slower but sturdier. I would work with my mentor and learn how they did things then asked them if it would be ok to take a day with a warrior of a different build. Not all the time would I get to but when I did I got to explore and try new things as well as got to combine what I learned from each,” he said thoughtfully. He watched his clanmates. “Our leader however does choose our mentors for good reasons,” he then said

“You sound very wise. But you are right. Our leader does have good reasons to choose who mentors an apprentice. And I’m not saying I don’t enjoy training with Pod. I just think every mentor should get a scattered break from training. Mentors shouldn’t overdo it either.” Smokepaw said, smiling.
