super late reply, but thank you! I usually make a layer for normal hard shading, set it to multiply, duplicate the layer and use the box blur affect (set to what it's already on) on one of them ^^ then after that just go over everything with the airbrush to make the edges darker. nothing really fancy but it makes it look softer and stuff :D
