Cloudstar sat just outside his new den, his long thin tail wrapped over his front paws. Being leader now, Cloudstar didn't venture out of camp as much as he used to, but the long 5-moon-long journey had put weariness on his bones and therefore was not bothered. The white tom blinked, scanning the rousing Clan silently. His paws itched to head over to the nursery so he could see his mate and children, but Cloudstar knew he had to stay to witness the return of the patrols Blizzardclaw had sent out. Despite no longer sending out patrols and leading them like he used to, the white tom was still rather busy. He worked closely with Blizzardclaw and Stormhaze on a nearly daily basis, and more kits and apprentices meant more ceremonies to perform. Still, the Clan was beginning to bounce back and the leader couldn't be more happier.

Soon, Cloudstar saw Ripplefang enter the camp with his party of cats, but stayed where he was, seeing as they were still in conversation. He blinked at them, anticipating the moment when the party would disband and Ripplefang would give his report. He hoped there weren't any traces of outsiders this time. That had already ground his gears the past three moons he had been leader.

Pinefur continued on, his pawsteps making a light crunching noise against the grass. All he could hear were the birds and himself. As he delved deeper into the forest, he couldn't help but gaze up at the blue sky above, dotted with white clouds. It intrigued him. After years of journeying through the gloom it was as if he were seeing color for the first time. The evergreens swayed gently in the breeze, carrying the sounds of prey with them. Realizing he was distracted, the young tom shook his head and crouched again, locking his gaze on a vole that had just appeared from behind a tree trunk. Pinefur attempted to pounce after it, but the critter was too fast for his reflexes and disappeared into the undergrowth, "Mouse-brain!" he growled, sitting back up again. Guess he still wasn't a prized hunter after all.

When Spottedcloud replied to him, he couldn't help but burst out smiling. Ripplefang was still oblivious to how cats expressed their emotions sometimes, so he was unaware of her sheepishness, but he still held a lot of love for her when she called him "dad". Such a simple word, yet it meant the world to him. "I understand that feeling all too well," Ripplefang chuckled and shook his head. He tried to spend as much time with Blizzardclaw as possible, but most of the time it ended up being shared with Chestnutkit or Tempestwatcher or some other cat in the clan. Ripplefang smiled again when the she-cat peeked at her love interest and purred, "I'm sure it'll happen soon enough."

The deputy contently waited for an answer from the apprentice, not wanting to rush them as he knew when you were new that was the last thing you want. That and to be wrong, those were always the least favorite things when you're young and in training. The tom let out a soft purr and nodded his head once as Fidgetpaw answered correctly. "Do you remember the best way to go about getting a squirrel?" He asked them once as he lead them slowly towards the way Fidgetpaw had pointed for them to go in. While the two walked he made sure to pay attention to any fallen twigs or leaves that would make a potential sound as they wouldn't want to scare off the squirrel or any other nearby prey.

Spottedcloud smiled as she could tell Ripplefang was happy with the news or perhaps it was her calling him dad that he enjoyed as well which she had been saying for awhile now. The thought of her and Tinymask made her feel happy and she knew it would happen eventually which made her know not to rush it as the two of them were still young and had plenty of time for everything they have talked about together. "You're probably right, there's no rush anyway we don't have to worry about something happening to us here like how we did on the journey or at our old home," she purred as she nuzzled against his shoulder. "You should go I'm sure Cloudstar wants our report," the warrior told the other as she took a look around the camp.
The moment the she-cat laid eyes on Tinymask, she saw that her sister was with him which she had nothing to worry about though she found it odd since they seemed to be in an argument? That wasn't typical of them but Tempestwatcher does know how to strike a nerve at times. She tilts her head at them before she sighs out, "looks like I might have to pull those two apart."

Snowpetal laughed quietly at the older kits and shook her head once while Servalnose had corrected Pumpkinkit's answer. She quietly licked both her small kit's heads gently while they had stirred against her. "You're probably right, I would imagine Willowshine as such," she told the fellow queen softly as she glanced at Hemlock-kit as they had talked about going outside. "Be careful just because you're almost apprentices doesn't mean you get to learn how to do things like that yet, and tell that to Chestnutkit too." She shook her head a bit as she glanced at Servalnose, she wondered how she was coping with Chestnutkit not being her kit anymore now that he was older and not needing to be fed milk. She had thought it was sweet of her to let Blizzardclaw and Ripplefang raise one of her kits together though she didn't know the reasoning behind it.
Snowpetal heard Dovekit hiss moments after she had seen her other kit accidentally kick him as they had been shifting. "It's okay, you're not hurt I promise," she cooed to him and gave a gentle lick once. She relaxed after the tom-kit had as well, keeping her tail tucked around the two kits.

Pinefur's ears perked upwards at the sound of an irritated, unfamiliar voice next to him. He rose to a stand and glanced behind him, seeing a young black she-cat staring at him with her harsh amber gaze. A shiver ran through his spine when he noticed a peculiar band around the cat's neck. An outsider! he thought quickly. Pinefur had never dealt with an outsider by himself before. Usually he was with a patrol and the deputy or an experienced warrior took care of it, but now that he was by himself it looked like it was finally his turn to confront the stranger. Ears flat against his head, the young warrior slowly turned to face the she-cat. She looked like a mini-version of Ravensight. "Erm... Who are you?" he asked bluntly, not knowing what else to say.

He brought the squirrel back to the place where he buried his earlier catches, dropping the prey down he looked over at Blizzardclaw and Fidgetpaw "Blizzardclaw? Eventually, the cat awoke from their dozing, letting out a yawn. Slowly standing up and stretching their limbs, Willowshine padded out of the elders den and over to the freshkill pile, picking out a plump mouse from the pile. Plopping down, they quietly ate, thoughts whirling around in their head about all the hardships they went through many moons ago and reminiscing about the old territory they once had. Their mind wandered to when Hawkpaw became a warrior, reminded of the proud feeling they felt for their apprentice. It was only a few moons after that they decided to retire, not regretting their decision as their bones were achy and muscles not as strong as they used to be after such a laborious journey to their current territory.

Minnowpaw yawned, blinking his eyes open at the sound of the bustling clan outside. Sitting up and stretching his hind legs he got up, glancing around the medicine cat den for any sign of Stormhaze. Not seeing her, he padded over to their herb stocks, making sure everything was organized and that there weren't any shortages of any specific herb. He wanted them to be prepared for everything and anything. After the passing of his sister he couldn't bear the thought of losing anyone else in the clan and was glad that the territory they traveled to had few issues with it. The memories of the journey were nothing but a distant and hazy memory, but he would never forget Lilackit. Shaking the memories from his mind, he turned and made his way outside of the den, jumping when he unexpectedly spotted Stormhaze basking outside of the den.

Cloudstar's ears perked upwards when he saw Ripplefang break away from the group and make his way toward him. Eyes widening with anticipation, the leader dipped his head at the senior warrior and nodded, "Yes, please tell," he said firmly, "Did you see any cats with those... bands around their necks?" He didn't know what exactly those bands were, but one thing for sure was that the cats who wore them were easily identified as a trespasser. Some bands even had small, hollow spheres that jingled with their every movement. Cloudstar didn't recall anyone wearing such a device in all seventy-four moons of his life, but he couldn't help but feel a little curious about their way of life. Why did they wear those bands around their necks? he wondered.

Pinefur was named after dried pine needles, but he wasn't sure what the name "Onyx" meant. Shaking the thoughts away, the tabby refocused his attention on the outsider, blue eyes locked on her jet black pelt.
