I’m some places the spark was never there. Take the group scene feature for example.

    yeah i feel that
a part of me wonders if its me that's changed through this time. I mean I joined CS when I was a child (not even a teenager) back in 2012 and now I'm a full grown adult. My time on CS has EVOLVED I'd say. I first was into pets and trading, then I discovered the RPG, then the art and original character community. While I'm on CS for different reasons now, not just the pet thing, it was a nice starting block. CS has changed, but so have I and I need to remember that whenever I feel discouraged by the site. However, I still feel the CS vibes during events...like sometimes the spark isn't there but I had A BLAST during this years easter event even though its not my favorite one, and the summer event is the most original out of all and I'm super excited.

I guess, I still have things to look forward to and the site brings me a lot of joy. So I don't think I would leave just cuz it doesn't feel the same.

I'm also feeling that way, I haven't been here for as long as you, but all the time I spent here have been really "intense". I've been online almost every day since when I joined so CS has been a huge part of my life and it became the place that I go to when I need to relax and forget about things for a moment.
I guess I'm becoming a bit disconnected from CS for multiple reasons, life irl isn't great rn so almost every time I'm here I'm in a horrible mood and don't want to chat, just trade. Playing CS without chatting isn't so fun, but I just don't want to talk to anyone at all. The list being discontinued also took out a huge part of what I liked to do on CS. Sure, I still do list trades pretty often, but it isn't as easy to find list pets uft anymore because many people are unsure about the value of the pets so they don't want to trade them.
I'm trying to find new things to enjoy now, getting rare quantity is being my newest addiction, but I'm not sure I'll stick around for much longer. I don't feel like the CS spark fading is anyone else's fault, I guess I'm not being able/willing to adapt and that's taking the fun out of the site for me. The staff seems to be doing their best to improve the site, the past few events had gorgeous pets and there are many changes around the site that are making it better, I guess I'm just not in a headspace where I'm able to enjoy CS in it's full glory :/

i love cs, and i have for quite some time. i've never really left since i joined in 2011, and i've got a fair sized pet collection. i remember it felt easy. you trade this for this, then up for this, all the way to the top.
it's great that we've figured out the rarities of some pets, and properly placed them. no one is disagreeing with the removal of the rares list. it just felt easier when the metaphorical trading ground under our feet was solid and we had a sort of unspoken community agreement about it. this for this.
it just feels like the gaps have gotten wider, and everyone's nervous to jump. it's taken me till a few months ago to get a ur tess cat, and i found me questioning myself a thousand times by the simple offer of two nons for a ur cat.
and it feels like a horribly desperate race to get all the store pets. the absolutely insane demand for those beloved, rare pets is through the roof. i don't think ill ever see another skelebun trade, lol. i know i can't have a shot at one.
there seems to be a gap between those players with old pets, an 'old money', and the 'new money' rare pets. The dividing line seeming to be with the Shima/August PPS/PPS Cat Dragon age outliers. (late 2009 to 2014). true date pets have also always had a 'holier than thou' leg up on re-releases, though.\

just some frustrations ive held for a while. this is a great way to throw it all out into discussion. it seems like we all get it. ive been reading your posts since ive been home from work and the events, the trading, it's all somehow faded. ill still participate and i love getting new pets. i also feel weird talking to the younger community because i'm 21+ and there's a great fewer number of us than the kids, and they're the majority community! it's always fun to gift bomb new young players, and do an rp, but i can't rp a semi-lit plot with someone as easily on here. that's my own fault for being crusty lol.

aaaaa, it's interesting reading through all these and seeing just how similar some people's opinions & experiences are to mine!

i must admit, the trading scene has failed for me for the most part. i still love collecting items and a few select pets but the trading environment has gotten a lot more hostile over the years so i try to steer clear where i can nowadays, especially with the list now being discontinued. people are very quick to judge & snap the second you send a trade they'd consider unfair- no matter your intentions. i took a trading hiatus for about a year and with how fast & drastically demand changes i was never able to regain my footing so gave up in the end, not to mention after being accusing of being a 'scammer' more times than i could count.

there's a lot of different parts to CS though and i still stay a decent part for the art community, it gives some of the nostalgia of the 'old CS' community feel and i adore it. events were also mentioned a little above me and i cant deny that i still love those, there's so many benefits to those events regardless of whether you're into trading & collecting and i love the excitement and atmosphere around it!

I joined in 2014 and was active for a good 2-3 years before really tapering it off. There are some things that stand out to me as reasons why my spark was lost:

**I join games like this for the "collect them all" aspect and I lost a lot of my interest when I realized that obtaining everything like I wanted to was functionally impossible, especially old store pets. The only times I had any success in obtaining any of those was through offsite trading. It's really kind of impossible for new players to get any of the old, rare, valuable pets without being exceptionally lucky (pound, giveaways, Dec 18) or putting in real money (I would buy cs$ to get items here, or buy FR gems to get pets here).

And it's that way for items, too, except old, rare, valuable items are probably rarer and more difficult to obtain than pets.

I ended up letting go of all that and just focusing on hoarding a couple of pet design types, but unfortunately those are released so infrequently that I only check in monthly, adopt everything, and toss it in the trade group for future trading for what I want.

**Trading was always kind of meh because I never liked seeing all the long and/or hostile sets of trade rules, or those folks who would keep NFT pets in groups that weren't blocked from offers.

**Why do we still not have a multi-add option for the wishlist? It's ludicrous that this site doesn't even have a simple "add all pets/items you don't own to wishlist" option. There are thousands of pets and items and we have to add them all to the WLs...one by one? What if someone new actually does want to seriously collect everything?

I was never a big part of the community (not really a talker) so pets are really my only connection with this game, so when I cut back I ended up losing a lot of what kept me active. I'll keep checking in, though, because the dragon designs are truly wonderful and I am all about dragons. xD

Yes I feel like a big part of the problem is that it's hard to be the one to initiate a trade because too many open nft groups or worse the group is nft/"httf" but unclear about it.
Please talk to me I don't bite.

Trading has basically become impossible as many people have stated, I am facing exactly the same problem, I got nobody to trade or receive trades anymore because I'm past the Uncommon and bellow pet mark, most of my pets on my WL are rares or store pets, and it's just so difficult, even when you offer something that might be an overtrade or just fair you still get rejected even though that pet was clearly in the trade group, and it just frustrates me and confuses me so much. I miss the days where it was just so much easier to trade.

I also agree that should be an option, and many people have wanted it for a while but unfortunately we're not at that point yet. It is time-consuming going through the archives for WL, and I dread it sometimes

I am an on/off player, taking breaks that last for years. I have to admit, when I came back in December I wasn't expecting this much of a change in the website. I was shocked the list was gone, C$ wasn't valued as much, some list pets don't get what they're actually worth while others have had a huge spike, and how it's really difficult to get fair trades for store pets. I've had to overpay for the majority, at least in my experience, and it has been a killer :what:
Thankfully, there have been some positives in trading. Such as a non being valued at 100-150 2009 rares instead of over a 1,000

I completely agree.

That's why I just assume the things that are unlocked and still say "NFT" are available for offers. If people truly don't want trades for certain pets, they'll lock it.

One big problem I have been having lately is when I send a bid for an auction and they automatically cancel it because they don't like a certain pet. It's happened a few times, and it's a little discouraging to not even be rated. I just try to brush it off and not think anything of it. For auctions, I do offer a little lower before I offer a lot, just in case I get outbid.

Hi! I take a sabbatical from cs every now and then (life is crazy) and omg i spent like a good hour and a half in shock trying to find out what the hay happened while I was gone because woah the list was gone. Kaput. Moot. Dead.
And then the prices for store pets were gong through the roof, making me very, very glad I had already collected the majority of the pps store pets on my wl (still need those seal {why did I ever trade my set away D:] and that darn pps dragon-cat [I gifted mine away forever ago])
Oh and the rarity change back in what? 2019?? I forgot when it all took place was another shocker. Although this was one was alot more pleasant since a lot of my pets got a bump up.

I always wondered....do some people just have like 1000 '09 rares lying around? It sounds impossible...but I've seen a OMGSR hoarder and boy their collection [whistles] was impressive.
