indentationMistypelt grinned at her apprentice proudly and said, "Very good! If you want to try, we might be able to get both the bird and the squirrel. We can time our pounces appropriately so that the prey isn't scared away. I'll go after the bird if you think that you can handle the squirrel. It would also be good practice for you as well." She scented the air again to make sure that Palesnow and Ryepaw were far enough away that she and Eaglepaw wouldn't disrupt them while also pinpointing the prey.

indentationOakpaw made sure to stay close to Snakedapple's side while the patrol headed off to check the borders. The last thing that he wanted was to make things difficult for his mentor or the rest of the patrol by falling behind. This was also a good opportunity for him to stretch his muscles as he ran. For a time, Oakpaw didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until he came across a strange smell that he couldn't identify. Not knowing what the scent was, Oakpaw looked over at Snakedapple and saw that his mentor's face was wrinkling at the smell as well. Curious, he asked his mentor, "What's that smoky smell?"

She smiled at Creamflower, giving a small smirk "Hello Creamflower, I was afraid you're not even going to come...when you had this special chat with someone special..." she meowed quizzing, turning to Flintgaze "I am sorry Flintgaze dear...but your competition partner had something else in mind to join our patrol, but as Creamflower is here, we're ready to leave are we?" she meowed giving a quick glare for both of them.

He watched his apprentice keep hunting, a yawn escaping to his mouth without him realizing it 'oops...crap...Hickorybright were you lost your manners? I hope she didn't see that...' he thought himself lowing his head down to shut his mouth under his paw. He swallowed nervously before stood up to approve his apprentice "okay...enough...you're doing good, got a good amount of preys...so no need to catch the whole forest down..." he meowed to her "We could do some battle practice now, or you could show we all the moves you're learning so far...is that alright?" he meowed to her.

She walked after the younger warrior, flicking her tail as she watched her clanmates here and there, talking with each other. She turned to look at the deputy when Finchtoot mentioned him, giving him a small greeting but didn't have time to say anything before he was gone too ask someone to join them as well.

He listened to his mentor carefully nodding, but was little nervous about the duo hunt with her, he was never done anything like that and he was a little bit unsure about it "alright, I can try the squirrel..." he meowed to him, twisting his whiskers to the upcoming wind, knowing where the two prey was hiding at.

She gave the other apprentice a smile "alright, see you soon" she meowed to her, turning to see her mentor there. She gave one deep sight as she was not sure if they were talking something important and she didn't want to disturb anyone, even her own mentor, but now she kind of had to talk to her. So she walked to the two cats "Plumpetal? Can I go out to hunt with Monarchpaw, her mentor and I think Cactusstar is coming too, or do you have something else in mind?" she meowed to Plumpetal, giving a small nod to Lynxwhisper as well.

Blackslip momentarily struggled to get through some thorns without stepping on any and injuring her paws. Once she was through she looked to Vervainclaw with a confident grin, "Sadly I wasn't given a direct spot for us to patrol, so I thought we would head to the busiest border." She then came to a halt as she picked up the smoky scent in the air. She breathed it in before hacking bitterly. "M-maybe two-legs?" She shook her head to try and clear the scent from her nostrils. "I don't see any damage to the land around us..."

Snakedapple knew the whole patrol would need to sit down later and groom the smoky scent out of their pelts. He wrinkled his muzzle in distaste before raising his eyes to the sky to see if he could see a dark cloud coming from the forest. He didn't want to be ignorant and simply ignore the smell--if they did then it could be dangerous for the clan. "I suggest we figure out if our territory is dangerous before we worry the clan with it." He nodded to where a small, dark cloud was peeking above the trees--it was also the direction in which the smoky smell was coming from. As the patrol moved closer, it appeared to be temporary nesting ground for the two-legs (camping, tents, bonfire). He narrowed his eyes and whispered to his clan-mates. "Why are two-legs this far into our territory?"

As Finchtooth announced that they would be heading out in a group, he nodded his head respectfully and sat down to await his return. A part of him felt that it was his calling to be a deputy, but until the day something happened to Ragwortgaze... He would remain a warrior.

Creamflower blushes as Thistleflower mentions Snakedapple, her fur feeling hot with embarrassment. "I apologize for keeping you Thistleflower." she said. "I was going to come since Ragwortgaze informed me about the patrol. Im ready to go whenever!"

indentationMistypelt smiled at her apprentice and said, "Alright then, let's make our way there carefully now. They aren't far, just a little past this thicket here. Once we get there and situated, I'll tap your shoulder with my tail a couple of times and that'll be your signal to pounce. I'll do the same with the bird. If all goes well, we'll have two prey in no time at all."

indentationOakpaw's body tensed at the mention of two-legs. He had heard stories about the devastation that they brought, but he had never seen them himself. He looked to his mentor and nodded at his wise words. It would be important to see how far the two-legs had come into their territory and if they had already caused it harm. He made sure to keep his steps quiet as he crept with the patrol toward the two-legs' nesting ground. Oakpaw didn't know how to answer Snakedapple's question, but he whispered, "They won't stay here long right?"

cactusstar would sit down too to wait for the other apprentice. " i'm very excited to see what our new warriors are capable of." she had faith in all of them, even if a few came from past kitty-pet lives. there past was being trained out of them

monarchpaw looked embarrassed at even the mention of his assessment test. he was nervous, what if he made a fool of himself? he isn't the best at offense attacks, but he's pretty quick and agile, good for surprises.

Ryepaw watched Eaglepaw and Mistypelt walking away, and started a little at Palesnow's tap on his shoulder. He looked up at her, nodded, and began nervously trailing behind. He subtly opened his mouth and began scanning the air for scents, readying himself in case his mentor asked him about what he scented.

Based on the patrol leader's hacking, Sequoiashade guessed that she had also detected the sharp scent of smoke-- although it was quite hard to ignore. Wrinkling her nose in disgust, she paused along with the rest of the patrol and waited for futher instruction. "Were you planning on checking it out?" Sequoiashade asked. She trusted the other warrior's judgement and left it up to her.

He lightly rolled his eyes when the warrior told him where they prey were, even if he already knew that, but didn't say anything "...alright...couple times...okay" he meowed mostly to himself as he walked closer to the thicket there. He stopped when he saw the two different prey, which little bit seemed to fight for the food place, so they moved a lot.

She walked back to the Monarchpaw and the rest "I spoke to my mentor and it's alright if I am coming with you, she is not feeling well so she is not coming with us" she meowed sighing "So is that okay with you if I come without my mentor?" she asked at them. (Oops only now realized that Monarch is a boy xD)

Briarpaw turned around upon hearing her mentor's words. Of course, she said calmly, covering up her hesitation. She'd hunted perfectly- but Briarpaw's weakness came more in battle. She was small, and hadn't learned to use that to her advantage yet. She knew all of the tricks and tips, her form just wasn't as perfect as it could be.

Flintgaze grinned as Thistleflower and Creamflower approached. Finally, he mewed with mock annoyance, We're leaving. It's almost like we got called to this patrol a whole moon ago! Though he was attempting to appear 'annoyed', he was much to excited to be out of the camp to cover up his smile. Come on! He mewed, running out of the territory excitedly.

Creamflower smiles and follows Thistleflower and Flintgaze out of camp and into the territory, happy that they can get going. She scans the territory as they walk on in case she spots something nearby. Maybe I can catch something nice for Snakedapple! she thought. With a purr, she continues following the patrol, keeping an eye out for anything.
