The smile 9S gave to her as he spoke indicated to Jade that he was no threat, at least for the time being. Besides, he wasn't hellbent on killing her like he was with 2P earlier...
So he didn't remember her... interesting. She realized that her current stance and expression probably made her seem much more aggressive than she actually felt, so Jade took a deep breath, letting herself loosen up a bit. Her tail began to slowly swish back and forth behind her in deep thought as she began to conjure up the gritty details of 9S's supposed demise.
"hm... this might be a bit difficult to explain if you don't remember any of the events which followed your fall, but here goes nothing! so essentially, what happened was you were trying to... ahem... kill one of my companions in this place called "the copied factory", i think. it was incredibly strange seeing such a place in the middle of kholusia, but that's beside the point. my companion and guide through the factory itself was named 2P, i believe. i'm assuming you know her, as you seemed incredibly impassioned about trying to eliminate her. as the battle between the two of you raged on, i, uh, helped her out for a little bit as i had no idea if you were going to try and kill me, too... "
Jade cleared her throat awkwardly and adjusted her glasses as she realized that this probably was a terrible first... well, second impression. If she ran into someone unfamiliar and suddenly they started going on about how she almost killed them, she'd be absolutely mortified, especially if she had no recollection of it. Regardless, she continued on with her story.
"anyways, after we thought bested you in combat, 2P and i started to leave the factory. but out of nowhere, you charged at her, sword in hand, and the two of you dueled for quite some time. i didn't really do much to intervene, probably because i rather liked having all four of my limbs intact. eventually, though, 2P delivered the final blow with her sword, sending you falling off of the platform we were standing on and into the mist below. while i did see your body falling, i was unable to see you hit the ground... and now that you're standing in front of me, i have no doubts that you are incredibly durable. that was a pretty long fall. the fog didn't really help, but if i had to guess, i'd say you fell about a malm. maybe more, considering i didn't even hear you hit the ground before i left the scene..."
She grimaced for a few seconds, trying to imagine what it would be like to fall from that height and still survive, somehow. Besides, how could you forget such an experience? Those few moments probably would have been burnt into her memory for the rest of her foreseeable life. But that was beside the point. Blinking slowly, she once more turned her gaze upon 9S and gave a weak smile.
"well, um, hopefully that rings a bell... sorry if i started rambling. and sorry for getting all defensive a few moments ago. it's just that... most people that i meet aren't very. uh. friendly."
