eight females and i believe ten males, but if you want to make a character that is either gender it is perfectly ok! gender balance doesn’t really matter to me unless it bothers the rest.

@everyone- so i wanted to clarify things up of the flow of the rp. i plan on make a post where you can see the season, month, day, and what period or time of day it is, just so we can all be on the same page! i will also clarify if there are any events for that day as well on that post! and to switch periods i’ll discuss here if/when you all would like to do that.

H i s t o r y;; madi isnt a "bad kid". and she's definitely not always been this way. sure shes made some mistakes along the way....and sure maybe shes not exactly the definition of sunshine reincarnated but she's got a heart somewhere deep down. you see when you grow up in a broken home, being carted away from your little, quiet apartment in chicago to live with your dad and your horror of a step mother where your always being overshadowed by her perfect straight A student of a daughter, you resort to having to do anything to get any type of attention. and that's been madi's life for the past ten years. ever since her parents split up when she was 7, her grades and all things academic have gone straight down the pan. shes become cold and withdrawn from other people and has found that acting up in lessons and belittling teachers very much suits her. whether its due to the crushing realisation that no matter what she does she'll never be on the same level as the sweet golden child of the family, her step-sister samantha. or maybe its because shes longing for chicago again, and her mother she cant afford to even visit anymore. now she's a bit older her reputation seems to have followed her from elementary school. people rarely have the guts to talk to her, and when they do mention her name its under their breath normally followed by a snide comment. madi's not entirely sure she dislikes this though, it's better if theres no possibility of letting people in in the first place, it leads to less broken trust and pain that way. her dad still cares for her and only wants the best for her, she can see that, but when the new wife and dream child comes calling she always feels swept under the rug by him, like he's finally found the family hes always dreamt of...and that he'd rather she wasn't in the picture at all.

H i s t o r y;; salem was born into a small apartment in the heart of paris as a single child. she was singlehandedly raised by her father as her mother past away from birth complications shortly after she was born, salem didn't know much of her mother and the only information that was passed on to her was her mothers passion and pride she had for creating music. salem was a pretty quiet and sheltered kid, mainly only making friends with the nature around her and the paris city life. her father worried she was lonely or would end up on her own as she got older and granted, she did, but salem thrived in her own company and used it to work on her creativity and imagination, which she'd often look towards as her own friends. when she was 12 salem took on the task of learning piano so she'd feel some sort of connection with her mother and to fill up the gaps of time where she couldn't go out getting lost in the city or breathing in the fresh air, and unexpectedly she was pretty good at it. really good. so good in fact that on her 16th birthday she was contacted by a university for musical arts and offered a scholarship there. however one small problem about this was...it was in california. and she was only 16, so she'd either have to finish her schooling in france and brave the US on her own, or move there now to live with her aunt and uncle who resided there permanently. salem chose the latter, as after weighing up the two options it seemed the less terrifying. she packed up her things and waved goodbye to her father, one of the only people she had ever known, and boarded the plane over to the US. having lived here for two years now she's managed to find herself and focus on her passions, however the one thing she's never managed to get the hang of was the whole friend making thing and is still pretty sheltered, the language barrier for the first few months proving quite the problem. she mainly just wants to kiss high school goodbye and let california lead her down the path she's destined to go.
