I love music theory. I found a guy on Youtube who actually converted pi to base 12 and applied it to the 12 notes of the chromatic scale. The result was the "Pi waltz" and is pretty amazing. Even though it should technically go on forever, he did cap it at a certain amount of notes and use repetition afterwards. His claim that pi is a naturally musical number has fascinated me ever since. I've been working on figuring out the likelihood of a certain number of consecutive notes being in the same scale, in order to check this claim. It would be pretty cool if pi was a naturally musical number.
