It does kind of look like an octopus!
However the artist has said they didn't base if off an island, the patterns were just variations of the blanket. The only specific ones are the fish and the black cat.... the others are just random.

Thank you Devik for the name suggestions. CS artists really dig deep into animal genetics. (I've had to do so much research into snake, dog, and cat genes to name a bunch of them) Not having to dig through fox genetics was a huge help.
