(@Bronzewing, Riverstripe is a tom actually c:)
Riverstripe hesitated at first, clearly not wanting to leave Elmshade alone with Lostnight, or for Lostnight to get his way after he hadn't even met them by the river as they'd agreed. He spotted a small dead bird lying next to the black-furred tom, but he still couldn't help but feel annoyed. He knew prey was scarce, but he doubted Lostnight had searched very hard for prey before coming back to camp. Who knew how long he'd been waiting there? "I don't really want," Riverstripe mumbled around his prey in response to Elmshade's words, "but I will. Just...be careful." With a flick of his tail, he padded away from the she-cat before Lostnight had spotted them and slipped into camp, out of sight of the tom.
"Are you sure you're okay to go? I can bring you some water," Splashfeather offered. She didn't want Dappleleaf to overexert herself, although she knew the she-cat was probably too proud to accept the offer. "If not, let me go with you at the least."
This time, Tigerblaze dodged, resulting in his apprentice's paw brushing against his tail instead. He circled immediately, going behind Jackdawpaw and leaping forward, aiming to jump on top of his back and push him to the ground. Jackdawpaw was a burly tom for his age, but so was Tigerblaze. The two were well-matched in terms of strength.

Southstar let our a purr of amusement as he listened to his clanmates guess and wonder who Blazepaw's mentor would be. He couldn't help but smile in appreciation of Daydream's words. "I try my best to make sure every apprentice has a mentor that fits their needs," he meowed. "After all, aside from their own closest kin, they're probably going to be spending more time with each other than anyone else. But as for who Blazepaw's mentor will be, I guess we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?" He winked before answering Mistflower's question. "You know, Daydream was just asking me about that earlier. I would like to train another apprentice one day, but only if I think I'll be the best mentor for them. I think a lot of my clanmates can do a better job of mentoring than I can, but who knows? If I find the right one, maybe..."
Darkpaw blinked at Quiverheart's words, unsure how to respond. Was she trying to say he wasn't good enough? Or was she simply trying to help? The latter seemed more in her nature, but then again, perhaps he had insulted her father in her eyes and now she was attempting to insult him back, if somewhat passive-aggressively. Being such a timid cat, he figured that would be the way she would try and get back at somebody, if at all. But once again, perhaps he was simply overthinking things. Quiverheart didn't seem like that kind of cat, the kind to sneak in subtle jabs. And besides, she did have a point. But before he could think of what to respond with, the she-cat changed the subject, looking somewhat embarrassed. "Oh--yeah. Yeah, I get that. I went hunting with Deertail, Goldenrose, and Wolfpaw...Wolfpaw gets distracted so easily though. I wanted to--" He broke off as he realized that Quiverheart probably wouldn't agree with what he was about to say. "I wanted to get hunting over with and get back to camp as soon as possible."
Nightwish nodded her thanks, eyes shining with pride. She followed after Russetswirl silently, but as they followed the scents of their clanmates, she moved closer to him, so that their pelts were brushing ever so slightly--not enough to be obvious to just any cat, but hopefully enough to catch Acornspots's attention when they ran into her again.
Outside the Clans
Thunder let out a happy squeal as, at last, Honey came and rescued him. Just as he had planned. His gaze traveled briefly to the tall, strange beings that entered their home. He felt indifferent towards them for the most part, although they looked a bit intimidating. Turning his gaze back to his mother, he curled into her fur and began to nurse.
