in this world, pokémon trainers battle alongside their companions. many trainers can bend one of the four elements─fire, air, wa
ter, or earth. some build teams with their element in mind, such as a waterbender utilizing water-type pokémon to ensure they'll
always have access to their element. others use pokémon to cover their weaknesses, like an airbender having a ground-type on b
oard to field attacks from earthbenders. whatever the case may be, in this world, becoming a pokémon trainer is about more tha
n directing your pokémon from the back line. here, trainers are expected to join the fight. battles are won together, or not at all.

not all battles are literal, of course. if you're a coordinator, your battle is on a stage. if you're simply an explorer, your battle may
be against the mountains you seek to climb. whoever you are, and whatever your goal is, you've formed a group with seven other
people. you all have your own dreams and aspirations, some big, some small. together, you plan on setting out to reach the stars.

at least, that's the idea. but it's never that simple. storm clouds are gathering on the horizon─the avatar, master of all four elem
ents, and the bridge between humanity and pokémon, has vanished. for generations, they have been responsible for communicat
ing with legendary pokémon and maintaining balance in the world. now that they've disappeared, though, some people are growi
ng restless. some seek to harness the powers of legendary pokémon, believing that there's no one to stop them from trying. mayb
e they're right. or maybe the choice will belong to these eight young trainers; do they follow their dreams, or do they drop every
thing to establish peace and balance in the avatar's stead? well... nobody said they couldn't try to manage both at the same time.

so here's the deal: this is primarily a character-driven rp. there's some ominous background stuff going on, but that's for later. i t
hought it would be nice to just go on a fun, lighthearted adventure with some friends. i'm not going to tell you what your charac
ter should want, but for the sake of internal competition and ~drama~ i will say that it'd be cool to get a couple who wanted to c
hallenge gyms, a couple who wanted to partake in contests, etc─just, like, some overlapping aspirations. but... go nuts, really c:


some character guidelines:

✧ up to 4 pokémon to start (more will be caught) ✧
✧ no legendaries/mythicals/ultras ✧ movesets aren't
