PeakClan
(@~GirlsDeMo~: I'm not sure if Neva and Thorn are still in PeakClan territory or if they've just left, but I hope it's alright with you if I pretend they're very close to the border, that way my cat can find them and give them someone to interact with. ^^)
Crowthorn ignored the rain as it pelted down, soaking him to the bone and forcing his fur to stick to his frame and make him look even slimmer than normal. He attempted to stay beneath the shelter of the pine trees as he walked, but there was hardly any use in it, as he was already drenched. His wounds from earlier still stung; he hadn't gotten them treated, and while normally water would have relieved them, the rain poured against them so hard that it only hurt them more. Still, he ignored the pain as he walked along. The scent of rain wiped away any prey-scents, as well as the earlier scents of the rogue and his kit in their territory, but Crowthorn wanted to make sure the two troublemakers hadn't returned, not that he had much else to do. As he neared the scorched line in the grass that marked the border, he just barely caught a glimpse of two cats in the hollow of a tree just outside the border. With the rain nearly blinding him, he thought at first that it was Flynn and Jinx again, but quickly realized that the coloring didn't match up. No, there was a long-furred white she-cat in there, with a brown-and-white kit next to her. Crowthorn was relieved that it wasn't the two cats from earlier, but still, these cats were a little too close for comfort. Stepping in front of the hollow so he could be seen, he meowed, "I hope you know you're just a fox-length away from PeakClan territory."
"Yeah, we can't stay here all night after all," Hawkeye agreed. They'd wait the storm out for a little while, but if it didn't cease by dusk, they'd have to just make a run for it back to camp. She felt herself shrink slightly when the two siblings began grooming each other as she realized she was the odd one out. Again, she could only wish that she and Crowthorn were that close. She wondered if she'd care as much or feel as envious if she'd been born an only kit. Maybe if I didn't have a littermate, I wouldn't wonder what it would be like to have one that I was actually close to, she thought bitterly. Hoping the other two hadn't been able to feel the self-consciousness emanating from her, she continued grooming her chest fur, a little more rapidly than before.
Gingerleaf's ears pricked at the familiar sound of Blossomcloud's voice and her own name being called, but before she even turned around, she could tell something was wrong. There was a certain note in the elder's voice that made Gingerleaf nervous, and when she whirled around to meet the older she-cat's gaze, she wasn't surprised to find a darkening sadness there. Her eyes widened with horror and her heart skipped a beat as Blossomcloud explained what had happened. Littlepaw? Dead? Why, she had only seen him a short while ago. How could he be dead already? Uneasiness prickled beneath her pelt, and she couldn't help but wonder if it was stronger than usual because of Sunpaw's own incident, or because she realized the apprentice getting killed by a rockslide could have just as easily been her own daughter if things had been different. It was a horrible way to think about it, really, but in a way Gingerleaf felt better about Sunpaw's accident in comparison. It took her a moment to process the information before she finally answered the elder's question. "Ah, yes...Yes, I should have some thyme here for her, just let me..." She pawed through her pile of herbs until she found the small, sticky leaves and picked them up. Beckoning Blossomcloud with her tail, she exited the den, flattening her ears against the rain, and rushed into the nursery. Badgerlight was curled into her nest, looking understandably disturbed. Gingerleaf felt disturbed as well, but she knew she had to remain calm, even internally, if she wanted to comfort the queen. "Hello, Badgerlight," she greeted the she-cat softly, setting the thyme down on the den floor. "Blossomcloud told me what's happened. Are you alright? Here, eat these--" She nudged the small leaves closer to Badgerlight's paws. "They'll make you feel better."

Southwind stiffened slightly as Icepaw's pelt brushed against his before relaxing again. He wanted to comfort the apprentice, but there wasn't much else he could say, and so he simply let his tail touch her flank, somewhat awkwardly as he was still carrying Swiftstep on his back. It began to rain just as they returned to camp, and together with Kestrelclaw and Aspenheart, they brought Swiftstep to the medicine den and let her slide into a nest. "Let's give Aspenheart some space to work," Southwind murmured gently to Icepaw, beckoning her out of the den with his tail.
Having brought Swiftstep into the medicine cat's den, Kestrelclaw knew there was no more they could do but let Aspenheart do his best and pray and hope to StarClan that the injured she-cat would be okay. As he exited the den, he couldn't help but feel guilty; perhaps if he hadn't told the others to go on ahead of him while he and Jaywing tried to deal with the loner, this wouldn't have happened. If he had only been there to help...
Timberfoot nodded his agreement, but before he could start to move back to the shelter of the pines, Kestrelclaw, Southwind, and Aspenheart entered camp, with Icepaw at their side--and an injured Swiftstep on their backs. Timberfoot's eyes grew large at the sight. "The fox must have done that," he murmured, concern in his tone. Swiftstep was taken straight to the medicine den, but Kestrelclaw re-emerged a moment later, looking distraught.
Darkflower glanced behind her to see that Vixenbite had entered the scene, but although the fox had temporarily been slowed down by the cats attacking it at all sides, she could see that it hadn't given up on the chase, and it was quickly gaining on her. Her legs were aching from running so fast and she was out of breath, but she forced herself to keep going. The river was in sight now. If she could just make it a little bit farther...
And just like that, she tripped over a root bulging out of the ground and tumbled to her paws. Horror surged through her as the fox towered over her and opened its jaws, preparing to sink its teeth right into her face. StarClan, I've been good, haven't I?
