How in the world do you make smooth lines?

Postby TwilightBard » Sun May 03, 2020 8:36 pm

A lot of my sketches have jagged lines, but I don't mean that. I'm wondering how to not make them non-fuzzy or pixely, genuinely smooth.

I am very bad at any art program I use

But for non-fuzzy lines, I honestly don't know, some of my drawings just turn out fuzzy for no reason when others don't.

I've found that the smoothing tool can work pretty well, if my lines are getting bumpy, it's a savior for when my hands are more shaky than normal.

I've had that problem before, it's odd.

I personally find it fuzzy because of the lighter pixels that surround the dark line drawn.

ahh ;-;

That's what I've noticed, I'm not sure if I can make thin lines without those extra pixels.

Yeah.
*sobs for that picture of Floof I was going to post but it's resolution decided to give up on life*

You should still post any art of Floof, no matter how fuzzy it looks. My one Warriors fan art got ruined by fuzziness and that made me very sad.

I'm not sure if you're still looking for advice, but I thought I'd post this anyways.

I have noticed that the Pencil tool naturally has a blurrier edge no matter what you try to do to adjust it, so try using the Pen tool (if you don't already use it).
When using the Pen tool turning the opacity all the way up to 255 keeps it from being transparent (though some people prefer that).

Hope this helps!

PS. your art is great!! c:

aaa, I think there may be a special method, or I may need some sort of tablet to make it have no grain or whatever you call it at all.

Using thicker lines is working for me with the pen tool, so I think I'll be sticking with that for now!

Thank you!
