Baldr and Eir drag themselves into camp, the liveless body of Rig between them. Rocky had gotten back only moments earlier and was about to approach his mate when he saw the three dogs return. Along with his two Shamans, Rocky ran to the group just as they had all collapsed in the middle of camp.

"What happened?!" he growled in panic as he looked at the unmoving body of his kennelmate.

"A bear..." Eir wheezed as she gasped for air.

"We were able to scare it away, but Rig took the hardest blows." Baldr said as he sat up infront of his Alpha.

Iggy checked over Rig as Cookie inspected Eir.

"He is gone, but he died in an honorable way." Iggy said sadly as she inspected Baldr.

"He will be honored by the Ancestors." Cookie said.

The kennel howled their loss to the moon that night, mourning their kennelmate. Rocky decided he would lead a group the next day to make sure that they bear is truly gone from their territory.

Gefjun led the Moonhigh patrol, Baldr and Kimber following close behind. Baldr had been curious about the pretty Collie since she arrived at his kennel, and could not fathom why she would give up leadership of her own kennel. Kimber noticed the Beta studying her intently and it made her fur crawl slightly.

Gefjun noticed that she was the only one on the route she was taking, and looked back to see that her Beta and kennelmate were trailing behind slightly. She stopped and was waiting for them to catch up before getting a nod from Baldr telling her to keep going. She smiled slightly as she saw the way he looked at Kimber and kept on her way, making sure to stay within sight of her fellows but out of earshot.

"If I may ask, what is it that brought you to our group?" Baldr asked her as they walked in the moonlight.

"Things were not working out, it just wasn't meant to be." Kimber said, looking at her paws.

Judging from her reaction, he could tell she did not want to talk about it. He could understand not wanting to talk about your past, and he knew that Nevermore Kennels was a fresh start. A good way to start over.

"Well, I understand that." he said with a mild tone, "That is why Rocky has created this group, as a way to start over."

She turned to him and smiled, happy that he was understanding. She saw him in a new light, that of a almost full moon. His black and red pelt seemed to shimmer with an unearthly light. As he looked down at her, she saw the moon reflected in her eyes. That was the point that the two of them decided it was time to really start over.

It was becoming routine that a dog stares at Acllacuna. Hades once more felt bad at staring at the Peruvian Inca Orchid, his tail wagging slowly behind him. He never saw a hairless dog, and the Peruvian Inca dog was now immune to the stares. He was destined to be here, after all, the Belgian Tervueren danced on his paws, with his tongue lolling out of his mouth, he was a good-natured canine, seeing this kennel could use his services.

Sofia easily has taken an interest in this small dog and smiled. She liked his good nature and could see this one could be a great leader, someone that she would want to lead beside her, and now she would have to allow the chemistry to blossom between the two of them naturally, not to force the course of things.

She and Aristaeus had found a pair, a mother dog and her pup. Aisha and her pup Dalia, the young ray was still staring open-mouthed at Acllacuna. She couldn’t believe what she was looking at, failing at the words to speak, but stayed close to her mama.

“It isn’t polite to stare, my little flower. Come along now,” Aisha said softly nudging her pup towards the nursery, the pup cast a look towards the hairless dog before scampering off towards the shade for long-deserved nap time. She was young after all, and all this walking had worn her out. The Saluki raised her head towards the others, and nodded appreciatively, “Thank you for taking us in. our former home, cast us out.” She turned on her heels and followed after her pup to keep her warm throughout the night.

“How much you gonna bet that Natia is going to lose her mind, the moment she sees our newest members.” Aristaeus sighed dropping onto the ground and panted softly.

“I am not betting anything; she is and we are ready in case she goes rabid on us.” Acllacuna sniffed in response, shaking her head, and taking the risk of lounging on warmed sands. “she is angry enough to risk that foaming madness.”

thallium. she tries to convince her friend to join thallium, but he says he needs to think about it.
