Thrushclan has always stood strong. They were never celebrated or rejoiced like the primary four clans - Thunderclan, Shadowclan, Windclan and Riverclan - as they were a very small, tight-knit clan that kept to themselves. However, through thick and thin, they have persevered and blossomed into a strong clan where all others have failed. Loyal, resilient and fierce, Thrushclan is now the strongest it has ever been. However, Thrushclan is about to face their most difficult challenges yet. Will the clan survive, or crumble to the test of time like all others before them?
    ──────────────────────────── ⋯⋯ * ⋯⋯ ────────────────────────────

This is a typical clan roleplay with one key twist - it runs on what I will call a chapter system. After the roleplay reaches a certain number of pages, we will vote on an incident that occurs. This will be the start of a "chapter". Then we shall roleplay out the incident, thus filling out the chapter. This incident is not isolated - it will have consequences further on in the roleplay. The severity of the consequences depends on the severity of the incident itself. After we complete the incident, that will complete the chapter, and the consequences - both good and bad - will be made available via a "chapter recap". A more detailed explanation and examples can be found below.

I know we all hate 'em, but bear with me! These rules will ensure the roleplay moves smoothly. I know not all of us have the patience to read through this wall of text, so the most important rules will be marked with a * and the important sentences will be bolded. Thanks for your cooperation lovely rp'ers!

    * 1. All of Chickensmoothie's rules apply.

    * 2. This is not a semi-literate roleplay. However, I ask that you write at least 8 full sentences or approximately 200 words per post.

There is not limit to the maximum words you can write. I myself love to write and read walls of text, however I understand that can be stressful and time-consuming, so you are by no means required to do so. If you want to write more and are not sure how much more to write, try to mirror the other persons' post. However, when in doubt, just post a nice lil' paragraph that someone can respond to and keep the roleplay moving!

    * 3. All cats must have realistic colors, names and not be 'perfect'.
I don't want to see a pink female cat named Unicornheart that can walk with Starclan whenever she wants. No. This is a "realistic" roleplay, so no abilities, nothing absurd you would not see out in nature. That said, for the sake of the plot, cats will die. Please keep this in mind when creating your cat. That said, all sexualities and gender identities are welcome! Don't like it? Don't join.

    * 4a. Activity is very important. Please have at least one post up 7 days.
I will be conducting activity checks every week to ensure everyone has posted. If you have not, you will receive a message from me. If you do not respond to that within three days, you will be kicked from the roleplay. I understand life happens, so if you notify me at any time and inform me something has happened and you will be inactive, you will be exempt from that weeks' activity check. That said, please do your best to post guys! I really want to keep this roleplay alive long enough to get to the juicy drama.

    4b. That said, no powerplay/godmodding.
If you have been waiting for the other roleplayer for 2-3 days and have not received a reply yet, pm me. I will send them a message, and if they do not respond within a day we will work together to get your character out of the situation without powerplay/godmodding.

    5. You are allowed to have four cats per person, one high rank per person (this rule is subject to change as the roleplay progresses).
Please try to keep genders somewhat even! I understand they are not perfectly even in real life and so I don't expect the same here, but please don't have 30 females and 2 males, or vice-versa. Also, try to keep ranks somewhat even, although I do expect us to have a few more warriors than apprentices. Also, only three queens at one time, and they must be pregnant or have kits under six moons. No permanent queens. No motherless kits. You cannot be your own mate/crush/mentor. Also, have a father for your kits - I will allow fatherless queens later in the roleplay, but not to start us off.

    6. Please keep keep all forms and extensive ooc (out of character) comments in the discussion thread.
Small comments here and there are fine, but let's try to keep this thread nice and tidy. Please also disarm your signatures when posting on either thread.

    7. You are not required to use the form provided.
If you have your own form, feel free to use it! Just please have the basics (name, age, gender, rank, sexuality, personality, and stats {intelligence, speed, strength, fighting, hunting, swimming, tracking, medicinal knowledge}..

    8. Mini-drama (love triangle, major injuries, bitter rivalries, flirting with outsiders/breaking SOME rules of the code) is strongly encouraged!
That is why I provide pages between the chapters - to flesh out character relations. Do not be afraid to shake things up, and if you think you are going too far, shoot me a message to check up! I love receiving pms (:

    *****
    9. Have fun! And if you have any questions, please send me a message, my pms are always open~

Rules are subject to change as the roleplay progress. I will post a notification if this happens.

Thrushclan is located at a very beautiful, scenic forest located quite far away from any other clans or humans civilizations.

Image

The camp. This is where most of the activity takes place. All of the burrows are created out of rocks and dirt, slightly elevated off of the ground. The medicine cat has their own den, as does the leader and deputy. Everyone else shares.

The training grounds. This is a safe place to take apprentices. Here, the young'uns are trained in hunting, combat and tracking techniques. This can also double as a sparring spot for warriors itching to ruffle some fur.

The lake. The lake is a popular hangout spot for all members of the clan, however, it can get pretty hot during the summer since there are only a few trees located at it shores! You can catch the following fish at this location:
- catfish ( very common)
- trout (very common)
- chub (very common)
- brim (common)
- frogs (common)
- toads (common)
- bluegill (uncommon)
- redears (uncommon)
- smallmouth bass (rare)
- largemouth bass (very rare)

predators
- snakes (common)

the hunting grounds. The forest is typically plentiful, however, the hunting grounds serves at the best place to find prey. The hills provide hiding spots for small rodents, and the trees offer excellent pickings for birds and larger rodents. Just beware that you are not the only ones hunting there... and watch the dock! It is not sturdy after years of disrepair.
You can catch to following prey at this location:
- lizards (very common)
- mice (very common)
- voles (very common)
- shrews (very common)
- rats (common)
- rabbits (common)
- squirrels (common)
- thrushes (common)
- finches (common)
- sparrows (common)
- robins (uncommon)
- crows (uncommon)
- pigeons (uncommon)
- hares (uncommon)
- hawks (rare)

predators:
- snakes (common)
- foxes (uncommon)
- eagles (rare)

the oak. If there was more than one clan, this is where they would meet. But since there is currently only one, this is a place for unruly apprentices to sneak off to and tell tall tales!

the moonpool. Where medicine cats travel every six moons to receive messages from starclan (unless instructed to head there). Newly minted leaders also head there to receive their nine lives. It is a tedious journey, and the pool itself is located at the base of a large mountain.

abandoned campground. Twolegs used to visit here and do... weird twoleg stuff. It has not been used for years. But who knows how long the peace will last...

The season is leaf-fall, heading into leaf-bare. It is currently ~50 degrees. It is currently early morning. Prey is relatively abundant given that is late leaf-fall, no predators have been spotted, life is great!

Tigertalon is mentor to Fawnpaw.
Swancrest is mentor to Blazepaw.
Buzzardclaw is mentor to Pikepaw.

Alright beauties, remember I said there would be more of an explanation later on? Well, here it is!
This roleplay is unique, because there will always be a major event looming in the near future. After the roleplay reaches a certain number of pages, we will vote on an incident that occurs. For the first incident, the magic number will be 5. This is subject to change, depending on the number of kitties we get. It is important that everyone forms relationships, however, I do not want this roleplay to peter out before things get going.

Once the magical number is reached, a poll will be created with the possible incidents, and it will run for 3 days to give everyone a chance to vote. Then we will begin the chapter! Each major event that takes place will be listed below in a bullet format, and below each bullet will be a paragraph with more information regarding the particular incident. At the very end, all of the consequences will be listed, though it will be more of a summary as the consequences will be quite obvious at the end of a chapter.

Image
Part 1 - What Has Happened to Our Home?
i.
ii.
iii.
......
** consequences:
Part 2 - no spoilers
i.
ii.
iii.
.....
** consequences:

Then after the current chapter is completed, there will be a full lull pages for cats to recover and mingle. Then, another poll will be made, run for a few days, and another chapter will start. There will be many catastrophes for for us to decide from, however, the contents of the next chapter will be somewhat determined by the previous chapter's contents (and you'll have an idea of what the consequences will be by the title hint hint). If you have any questions regarding this system, please let me know!

Calmness. Peace. Things going according to plan.

Those were all things that Ashstar longed for, but constantly evaded his grasp. So that would probably explain why he, instead of resting during the twilight hours like a normal feline, was sitting at the mouth of his den, watching the sun slowly ascend into the sky. Trouble stalked this clan like a fox to a hare. Always stalking in the shadows, it's sharpened claws flexed as it watches its prey, always ready to destroy those who were not strong enough to persevere. The russian blue shifted, flexing his own claws against the padded earthen floor of his den. His clan would not be oblivious hares, leaping and bounding until there was a slip that would cause their demise. They would be prepared - that is something he would see to his dying breath. No matter the cost.

Ashstar himself was not old enough to remember how things had ended up this way. No one in this clan was. However, the elders' tales told to him through kithood swirled around him, so vibrant and complex that the stoic leader could almost see the omnipotent figures of his ancestors bounding before him, whispering their secrets and regrets as they frolicked free of earthly ties. A long, long time ago, there had been dozens of clans. The most popular ones - Shadowclan, Riverclan, Thunderclan and Windclan - ruled the most prosperous section of the land with an iron claw. Hardship after hardship constantly ravished the clans, and they all stood strong. Until at one point, a war broke out. A war with no possible resolution except death to all of its participants. Perhaps it was long incoming, for so many cultures flourished the region. Was it just impossible to coexist, to agree when so many saw the world so differently? Perhaps. Or maybe it was something entirely different, and the stories were skewed, as it had been so many season ago. Ashstar would never know. All that he, or anyone knew for certain was that the balanced shifted, and no longer did the four clans rule. With the power balance shattered, it was a free-for-all. Everyone wanted power, no matter the cost. They were right, everyone else was wrong, and there was no happy medium. So, after countless seasons of warriors ruling the lands...

...they finally killed each other. Only one true clan remained - Thrushclan. Was it because of their bravery, their cunning, their skills? No. It was merely because they had distanced themselves so far from the core clans, on the outskirts of the land that no one wanted, that they were spared from the slaughter. What an anti-climiatic end! Except, they were alive, and no other "true" clan was. It was not as if the hardships had ended after the war, either. Illness, internal conflict, natural disaster plagued the clan, unrelenting, one after another. It was if Starclan was testing them. Ashstar had been warned that leaders' of this clan typically did not last beyond 50 moons - some even so far as to insinuate the title itself was cursed. Yet the little hare that is Thurshclan remained, still outrunning the ruthless claws of fate. And it would stay that way. It would. But then why couldn't he sleep? Ashstar could feel leaf-bare's cold claws beginning to grasp the fertile lands, and he knew the same applied to his clan. Prey was becoming a little bit more difficult to find, as were herbs. Cats would be a bit more sluggish, more susceptible to attacks and illness. But honestly, this had been a rather mild leaf-fall. Even though prey was a bit more difficult to find, the pile remained stocked. The medicine cat den was full of herbs. Hopefully, leaf-bare would be much of the same.

Lost in his thoughts as always, the dark grey tom was snapped back to reality by the feeling of a cool breeze ruffling his unkempt pelt. The sun had finally began to peek through the trees, dimly illuminating the spacious camp Thrushclan inhabited. The pine trees surrounding camp rustled, a silent sound that seemed to echo throughout the currently still camp. A lone bird cawed, as if signifying it was time for the day to begin. Standing up and stretching, the lithe tom took his time to groom his coarse blue-grey pelt - no point in showing himself to the clan looking less than presentable for no reason! Licking his paw and swiping over his pelt a few times did the trick. It was now time to get the day underway. Stretching each leg and then standing, the gray tom excited his den and leaped upon the ancient, dirt covered rock that served as his meeting podium.

Clearing his throat, the leader mewed strong and clear, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Clanrock for a clan meeting!" His words rang out into the empty camp. And, after a few long moments, magic happened. The camp came to life. The blue tom watched, emotionless as ever, as cats of all ages, sizes and genders emerged from the slumber. Some sprung out as if they had been awaiting his call, bright-eyed and clean - others clambered out with glazed eyes and sleep-tussled pelts, as if they had just emerged from a coma. Regardless, as they all situated themselves somewhere they could comfortably hear him, all prepared to start the day. Ashstar felt a twinge of pride. This was his clan, thriving and strong, each and every one ready to do what was required of them. They were strong, and because of that they would persevere, as they always had.

"Recently, I have been informed that a couple of loners that have been scented around the border. Their origins and intent is unknown at this time. It does not appear that they are working together however, do not let your guard down. Remain vigilant. Refrain from leaving the camp by yourself unless absolutely necessary. That is all of the news - now for patrols." At this time Ashstar sat and quieted down, allowing his deputy, Rushwing to speak. The grey tom was thankful that he had a dependable deputy, and one who was almost the polar opposite of himself. They worked well as a team, each ones' strength compensating for the others' weakness. With a strong deputy at his side and the trust of his entire clan - a young clan, but strong and hungry- what could possibly smite out their future?

If only he knew what was to come for the last clan standing.

This was what he had been waiting for his whole life.

    He was becoming an apprentice.

Buzzardkit trembled with excitement, his chocolate eyes as wide as saucers as he gazed at the winking stars above him. Tonight was his last day in the queen's den, and he was not the least bit sad about it. His mother, Honeyfern, had died giving birth to him. So all he'd ever had was his two best friends in the whole world - his sister, Fawnkit and his brother, Finchkit. And they would be moving to the apprentice den with him, so it was no big deal. He was going to miss having all of this space to himself, and he knew some of the apprentices did not practice proper hygiene or snored loud enough to make a badger jealous - or both! - but he'd made it. He'd survived. Something he honestly did not think he would be able to do. Even at this young age, he knew his life had been in danger. For even as he stared at the midnight sky dotted with the beautiful, sparkling sky-ornaments known as stars, the scrawny little kit could feel his throat throbbing from where his father had cuffed him after missing a mouse earlier that day, and his paws stinging from the punishment - striking the hard bark of a tree over, and over, and over until he finally sliced deep enough to cause sap to bubble out in one blow. But now things were changing. With a proper mentor to report his progress to his father, he was sure he would no longer be cuffed in the throat and face, flung far enough to be winded on impact, withheld his daily meals or belittled. He would prove to Smokefoot that he was no longer the measly little scrap that had stolen his mother's last breath. With that in mind, the determined little kit laid his head upon his bed, ready to go to sleep.

But it was never that easy when you had siblings. "psst, aye Fawnkit, I can't sleep! The obnoxiously loud voice of Finchkit was unmistakable. "Try closing your eyes Finchkit!" And of course, Fawnkit would entertain him. Buzzardkit could already feel his tolerance for their antics fading rapidly. "Gee, why didn't I think of that?!" At this point, Buzzardkit had enough. He was always so tired at the end of the day, even though both his siblings always semed to have enough energy to make a rabbit jealous. "Why don't both of ya mousebrains be quiet and close your eyes? At this rate you'd think you were trying to talk the ears off of an elder with that chit-chat! Clearly someone did not do enough training today." The bickering stopped, and peaceful signed reigned. For all of two whole seconds. "Buzzardkit, you sounded so much like dad there it was so scary - I almost thought he walked in on us."

Buzzardkit would never admit how much that hurt him. It felt like an eagle had just stabbed his heart with it's beak. Fawnkit seemed to know, because she had already elbowed the everloving mousedung out of Finchkit, but it was too late. Buzzardkit just sat up and tried to glare at Finchkit, but he must've looked more like he was about to cry than anything because the usually shameless Finchkit stared at his pause and offered nothing but a pitiful "sorry." Cue the awkward silence. Then Fawnkit brightened up, clearly trying to lighten the mood. "Let's go to the Oak! Then Finchkit will be able to sleep and Buzzardkit, a nice walk will make you feel better." Buzzardkit's mouth popped open in protest - his paws were raw and nearly bleeding, his neck was hurting, and if they were caught and their apprenticeships' were delayed than he'd be better off dead - but Finckit's words echoed in his head. He did not want to be the cruel stickler his father was.

So, against every bone in his body, Buzzardkit padded along. As much as he hated to admit it, Finchkit was right. The stars twinkled merrily above, illuminating the dark forest. The trees and rocks were so much creepier in the nighttime, when you could make out nothing but shadows and outlines. The sharp shrieking of hunting bats rung above, but in spite of how unsettling this all was, Finchkit and Fawnkit skipped merrily along, leaving Buzzardkit padding behind. The scraggly little kit was falling behind his kin, as his paws had begun to bled and he did not want to raise alarm so far from the camp. What was the point? They rarely listened to him anyway. Probably because he sounded as hateful and cruel as his father. Buzzardkit felt his ears begin to droop. What if he was just like his father and was just in denial? What if -

    SNAP.

"What was that?" The nape of his neck prickled like it never had before. Something was wrong, terribly wrong. Out of nowhere Finchkit materialized with a sheepish expression. "Oops, that was me-" there was absolutely no way. "No it wasn't. Where's Fawnki-"

And that's when he heard it. It sounded like anything he'd ever heard before, but he immediately knew it when he heard it. A yowl that came from someone dying, and that someone was none other that Fawnkit. Before he could rush to her side, the smell drafted across his nostrils.

    Blood & foxes.

Run! And off the two brothers went, flying over the earthen ground, unable to see anything but darkness, unable to hear anything except for the haunting death shrieks of their sister, the cries of the bats and the heavy panting of ravenous foxes. At some point, Buzzardkit heard Finchkit trip and scream, but his own fear propelled his paws forward. His deepest instinct - self preservation - screamed at him to flee. Flee for his life. He ran, and ran, and until he came across a random hole. Thrusting himself in, the tiny kit crushed himself against the back as white fangs coated in saliva and blood snapped mere inches before his face. His heart felt like to was going to pop, and he wanted to try, scream, fight, but all he could do was lay there and pray to Starclan.

And realize it was his fault. His bloody paws had lead the monstrous hunters there, and his weakness was the reason he was now alone.

The next morning came, and he remembered his father Smokefoot's face, contorted with rage, grief and hatred. It was burned into his mind - he remembered nothing else. Why should he? The important thing was it was his fault. He, the little scrawny Buzzardkit, has destroyed what was left of his own family. He deserved his father's pain and rage. He remembered standing numb before two fresh graves. Then the next morning, when the brilliant sun rose on what was to be a joyous day, it was all silent. And instead of dancing with his kin, he watched his father run out of camp with his head down and jaw set, as the troubled tom ran to avenge what he had lost.

And remembered the next morning, it was three.

To say he woke up miserable was an absolute understatement. Buzzardclaw woke up on the absolute wrong side of the bed, as one might say. A vicious snarl, thankfully muffled by the moss that had wrapped itself around his muzzle, ruptured out of the scarred older warrior. It took him all of three seconds to realize he was not standing at the graves of his dead family some 42 moons ago, but instead laid up in the warriors den fruitfully trying to have a peaceful sleep, instead disturbing his innocent clanmates as they too tried to slumber. One ear shifted -their own prey gather here beneath the Clanrock for a clan meeting! Oh, it was time to wake up. Buzzardclaw stiffly stood up and began to exit the den, his blood boiling and his ears flattened against his skull. He had not had that dream in some time - clearly it was revisiting because he had not done enough work. Typically he fell into an almost unconscious sleep, thoroughly worn out by the days events and too tired to dream. Guess that had not happened last night. C'mon Buzzard, your not an elder yet - get your stuff together, there is work to be done! No one has time for you to be moping what happened moons ago. What's done is done. The past will never come back. But right before he exited the den in his unsettled state, the older warrior paused. He could not go out looking any type of way. No, he had an apprentice - Pikepaw - which meant he had to set a proper example. Quickly licking his paw and smoothing down his spiky pelt, the older warrior exited the den.

Ever since he had been assigned Pikepaw, he had vowed to never treat her as he had been. No matter how frustrated he became, he would always take into account her feelings. She was a young molly - she was bound to make mistakes, and although he had many questions as to how he of all cats ended up her apprentice, it was his duty to correct those mistakes and guide her towards become a better warrior and individual. Although Buzzardclaw was inwardly horrified of messing up a younger cat's life - the responsibility! - his three moons with Pikepaw were some of the best he could remember. The young molly was fierce, driven and hardworking. Buzzardclaw would never directly say it to her - it would make things too easy - but he was very proud of her progress and over time, had come to appreciate the opportunity he had been given. It had made him a better cat overall.

Exiting the den with his pelt groomed, eye gleam and shoulders square, the older warrior flopped down in front of the highrock, ears pricked as he listened to his leader drone on about exercising caution around loners. All the while, he let his single chocolate eye lazily drift throughout the warriors, keeping an eye out for Pikepaw as he wondered what exactly the day would hold.

The blue water was so bright, so clear that she could see the bluegills and bass flitting about just beneath the surface, oblivious to how their peace was about to be shattered. The greatest fisher of all time was crouched above, watching the fish flit here and there, planning her attack. Her quarry of choice was the largemouth bass, the largest fish of them. The one she had spotted was massive - its head was the size of an entire catfish. Finally, a catch worthy of Minnowpaw the Great Fisher of Thrushclan! The gorgeous silver molly crouched, her emerald eyes unblinking as she focused on her wonderful catch. And then, after a mere second of observing the massive bass's pattern, she struck. Lunging forward, as quick as a viper and sly as a fox, the molly dove into the water so smoothly she didn't even make a splash. The other small fries were startled away, as they had been completely unaware of her perfectly hidden presence. But the bass? It was immediately snatched. Everything was going according to plan. Although it had been ensnared, the beast did not go down easily, as was expect of a fish this magnitude. It flipped and he flopped, viciously trying to free itself from Minnowpaw's jaws. But there was a reason she was the greatest fisher of the clan and no one else - she refused to let go of the bass, even as it thrashed about, and eventually it tired and succumbed to the patient Minnowpaw. The apprentice dragged the bass, almost as large as herself, onto the bank. "Thank you Starclan for blessing us with this prey," she mewed, before picking the fish up and triumphantly marching home. Although it was tedious trip home over the uneven ground with annoying rocks blocking the way and roots in the most inconvenient locations, Minnowpaw was diligent in making sure the bass's fins did not get mucky on the ground and that she did not accidentally rip the scales while holding the fish in her jaws. Upon arriving, she could hear the happy mewls of gratitude from her clan. "Wow, what a fish Minnowpaw!" "That's amazing, even for you!" "Thank you for your amazing contributions to our clan!" Even Ashstar beamed proudly from the highrock, his usually deadened gold-dappled turquoise eyes gleaming with pride. "Let us all enjoy this amazing catch from none other than Minnowpaw herself! Once she becomes a warrior, this clan will not know hunger!"

"-all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Clanrock for a clan meeting!" The silver moplly had been in a deep slumber, enjoying her comfortable bed and wonderful dream. Just before she received the customary first bite of her catch, the call of her leader roused her. Jumping to her paws, the young molly beamed with excitement, only mildly disappointed to have been awoken from such a wonderful dream. Why? Because now she could work to make that dream a reality! It's time for a wonderful adventure! The energetic molly quickly smoothed down her pelt and then bolted from the den, sitting down to listen to her leader. She quickly lost focus though, and began looking around for any of the other apprentices. I wonder if anyone else had any great dreams!

    Sable| Male| Loner| 28 Moons| Location; abandoned campground/hunting grounds | tags; open

The tom-cat known as Sable was roused awake by soft sunlight streams peaking through the various holes that were in the tattered tent that where littered around the abandoned campground. The male stretched from the various amounts of tattered clothes that he has collected from the various abandoned tents that where in the surrounding area that he has called home. The tom-cat shook himself awake and he cleaned himself before he set out for his daily catch as the prey he normally caught where fatting themselves up for the coming cold days and night. Deciding himself presentable for the day, he padded out of the large gaping hole that was left from the constant weathering of the material that the tent was made out of.

Sable passed various colors and sizes of tents that where decaying from age, abandonment, and the weathering as they where left in such an open space. They have been here ever since the black tom-cat has been living in this area. But they where in much better condition when he first arrived in the campground. He padded towards the dark and lush undergrowth of foliage that provided him the cover that he needed to stalk his prey. Sable sniffed trying to find a scent of his prey in the air hoping for a nice plumb mouse or two, maybe even a vole. He wasn’t a very picky eater. Put he did need to prepare for the coming months as the weather is going to be getting colder and unforgiving. Especially with the white stuff that falls from the sky when it gets super cold. Shaking his head, he kept his senses alert and crouched down low as he heard something brush by a nearby bush. Eyes narrowed, he hid in the dark underbrush as he watched as a nice plump mouse was seen by the cat. Steadily creeping towards the prey, he watched his footing for he could alert the mouse. He got as close as he can, before he launched forth and pounced onto the mouse, before it could even react. It died with a squeak as Sable carried it to his makeshift home.

The black cat knew he wasn’t the only one around this part of the forest of course, but he had no idea for what was going to happen in the coming days. He had no idea that he was going to have a family to call his own. No need to fend for himself...

    Snowpaw| Female| Med Apprentice| 10 Moons| Location; med cat den/highrock| tags; open
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
She was only a kit back then. She was a naive kitten, and she had no idea of what happened to her parents on that patrol. As she was with another queen that was taking care of her, as he mother went out onto a patrol with her father in the early morning. It was supposed to be a nice and easy hunting patrol. Nothing was supposed to happen at that abandoned campground that was sometimes full of two-legs. She was supposed to see her parents in the patrol as they came back. But they where down two cats as they arrived. Snowpaw constantly asked the two warriors that went onto the patrol, but they just looked at her with sympathy. She remembers that on that same day that Ashstar came to her in the nursery to tell her that her parents went missing and where presumed to be dead. She was horrified about the news. The ceremony was held later that night in remembrance of her parents...

Snowpaw woke up with a start in her nest that was in the medicine cat den. She remembered that day well. It will stick with her for as long as she is alive. Yes she is sad about her parents disappearing, but she knows that her parents would‘be wanted her to continue on without them, and to preserve on with her memory of them not being a sad one, but a happy one, instead. That’s why she took it upon herself to become the medicine cat apprentice. To help every cat that needed help. And to keep herself busy as to not dwell on her missing parents.

The she-cat shook herself awake as she cleaned her fur to get rid of all the moss clinging to her white fur from her sleeping. She noticed that while she was sleeping, she had apparently made it out of her moss nest and ended up on the floor if the medicine den. She was glad that no one had noticed that for she would’ve been embarrassed to no end.”Thank StarClan no one saw me like that..” She spoke softly to herself as the call of Ashstar broke her out of her thoughts. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Clanrock for a clan meeting!" She heard the leader call out into the clearing of the camp.

Her soft paw-steps treaded out of her den, as she listened out for the morning patrol list that Rushwing called out into the clearing. If someone where to get hurt on a patrol, it was her duty to help those in need alongside Bitterfang; her teacher of everything that was there to be learned about being a medicine cat.

indent trees. trees everywhere. they covered the ground as far as tigertalons amber-coloured eyes could see. to anyone watching, his brownish ginger toned coat would be only a glimpse of colour from the darkened wood of the trees and then emerald green hues of leaves. he could hear the gentle fall of his paws on the hardened terrain, thud thud thud, and the blood pumping in his ears, reminding him he was alive. he parted his jaw ever so slightly to taste the air and caught the familiar fragrance of someone he loved a lot. with each step, he was getting closer to the familiar scent, and a mischievous plan began to fill his mind. his paced significantly slowed as he scouted the area for trees with low branches, making sure to stay downwind, so the familiar cat would not catch his scent.

having only searched for several seconds he located precisely what he was looking for and proceeded to scramble up it. sure climbing was not his best ability due to his heavy bulk, but he rather enjoyed it, particularly if it involved surprising his only sibling. he crept closer to the edge of the branch he was on, which swayed a little beneath his weight. inching closer he prepared to pounce on the grey-brown pelt beneath him. one, two, three. he threw himself off the branch, landing skillfully and neatly by the unsuspecting pebblestripe, who jumped back in alarm, fur fluffed up and fangs bared. upon seeing her reaction, tigertalon burst into an uncontrollable fit of laughter, whilst pebblestripe did her best to soothe her fur down again, scowling at him with an exasperated sigh, as she cuffed him around the ears for being such a pain. this only caused him to laugh more "good morning dear sister. you jumped higher than a rabbit" he wheezed. pebblestripe gave him a very uninterested look and opened her mouth to talk, however, the voice he heard did not belong to her, but their leader "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Clanrock for a clan meeting!"

the tom opened his emerald green eyes slowly, blinking the sleep out of his eyes. he hastily stretched each leg in turn, before bounding out the den. the minute tigertalon was awake to the minute he fell asleep, he was just a bomb of energy, racing all around the camp, driving some insane but highly amusing others. he was the type of cat who just could not sit still for extended periods of time, as a result, he frequently sat at the rear of the assembled cats during meetings, so he could flick his tail or kneed the ground without irritating anyone around him. as he waited for his clan members to wake up, he took the opportunity to clean his fur, tail twitching as he did, a sure indication that he was bursting with energy that needed to be released soon. as he groomed himself he kept a watchful eye out for several cats. one his apprentice fawnpaw, in case they were called on a patrol together, if they were not he would more than likely take her hunting, perhaps with pikepaw to work on her hunting skills, or perhaps they would just go alone. he also kept his eye out for his sister, although he frequently annoyed her, he loved her deeply and she was quite honestly, the only cat he really looked up to. finally, he also kept his eye out for any of those he considered his friends, wanting to wish them all a good morning. he noticed that a few cats had already woken up, in particular noticing buzzardclaw and snowpaw.

indent unlike most of the other apprentices in the den, pikepaw had been awake for a very long time already, and her tail flicked in frustration. the young molly had been haunted by the memory of her father lying still, emotionless, cold and distant. never in her life had she felt so utterly alone and miserable as that moment when she realised he was never coming back. that he had joined her mother to hunt amongst the stars and watch over her, leaving her alone with only poppystrike as family. she knew the black and white warrior was not her real mother but she loved as if she was. the molly had been rather angry that both her parents had 'abandoned' her and had shouted this at poppystrike "they abandoned me! how could they?! how could dad abandon me like that?!!" before the warrior had curled up around the grieving 5 moons old kit, telling her she still had a family in the clan. pikekit, at the time, had not believed her, thinking the clan only saw her as an outsider, someone who would have to prove her worth them, and so her whole attitude to those around her changed. she became the bossy, overly confident molly she is now, though if one grows close to her they can see her softer, less confident side, the one that used to joke around with her father and poppystrike, pretending to be the leader on some sort of high and might adventure.

the molly closed her soft brown eyes, which had teared up and sighed quietly to herself, hearing ashstar's voice ring out loud and clear, a signal for the clan to wake up. having groomed herself earlier the young cat headed straight outside relieved that the day was about to begin, she did not know how much longer she could have sat alone in the den for. after her eyes had adjusted to the sudden change in the light she spotted the familiar brown and white pelt of her mentor, and decided she should probably join him. it was likely they would be doing some sort of training today or would be required to go on a patrol. the molly quietly joined him "good morning buzzardclaw" she meowed, trying to make her voice sound upbeat, but it quivered slightly at the end, her tail lashing angrily. of course, she was not angry at him, just angry for remembering something she had promised herself she would never remember. but every morning was the same. maybe one day she would wake up at the same time as the other apprentices in a jolly mood, instead of waking up when it was still pitch black outside, with the occasional owl hoot to keep her company whilst memories of her father haunted her.
