Here is the derp looking like a psychopath while playing with a toy

And here is the derp when we put a bonnet on his head. He bearly cared and just walked around with it hanging around his
neck. XD also, you can see his mustache so good in this one making it weirder

And here is the normal derp. While also looking really fat?

So it's been a long while since I've posted in this thread and well Molly is doing great, she gets along with all out cats demands to be groomed on the head by shoving her face next to them and letting them lick her. Our youngest cat has taken to rubbing against her while she tries to lick his head. Have seen the youngest cat chase her numerous times and we always supervise her around the cats.

She also plays with the laser pointer more then our cats do.

Also here she is under the bed in first picture she thinks she's in trouble she's not though and in the second she's chewing on one of her many chew sticks. She is a full blooded Australian Shepherd. Would be hard to prove that she's not full australian shepherd to be honest since I'm told that her litter was surrendered by a breeder who wasn't expecting a litter at the time and got overwhelmed by puppies and gave them to the rescue.

... So I know we have all heard it, but I am going to re-state the old cautionary tale. Please use caution when playing with a dog using a laser toy. Laser toys aren't particularly good for cats either, but they really can cause neurological issues in dogs. I am not saying don't play with them ever, I have a laser that i play with my animals every month or so with, if I am stuck inside. (Like today w/rain and need to get some energy out, and he just won't play with a ball or toy any more) - but the laser is not an every day toy for any animal. Yes it is cute that they get all excited about it, but that excitement & fixation/frustration is exactly the problem.

She gave me the saddest look too. I called one place and they said it was a 4-5 hour wait so I took her to a farther place and they were amazing. She’s now resting at home thankfully. She has three meds and I got 0 sleep. Idk if I’ll be able to stay awake all day, but I have to get up tomorrow morning at 6am, so rip.

OMG I'm so sorry for what you and Penny have gone through. I hope they were able to find out what the problem is. I'm glad she's resting at home now.

we haven't had any problems behavior wise woth her in regards to the laser pointer. We've got other toys we use but she does enjoy it every now and then.

She usually comes and gets me when she wants to play with it. if I ignore her she picks ups another toy and plays with that.

We've been very careful about how often she chases it if I am playing with the cats I close the door to the room so they can attack the laser pointer. We also never point it at their faces ever. I have glasses and I have to be careful what I shine it on or it will shine in my eyes so I know the dangers all to well. Sometimes I don't even have to turn it on for her to run up and down the hall. She'll look for it when I am just holding it but the pointer in question is kind of worn out. So it's replacement is her kong chew that we got for her which she'll chase as well.

Edit: it also becomes a problem if you do it every time they whine or want you to which I don't always pick up the laser pointer to play with her.

So I recently met someone who hates australian shepherds and border collies because they had neighbors with untrained collies and shepherds that were a nightmare. Was super awkward when I said my dog was australian shepherd they literally just kept going on about how they didn't think the dogs could make great pets because past experiences with neighbors.

O..o Like how does one experience justify disliking a breed that much based on one or two experiences with it.
