“Be right back. I’m going to let Fallensnow know we are going hunting.” Daisypup said. Before walking quickly to the nursery and entering quietly so as not to wake any sleeping pups. She went toward Fallensnow who looked to be asleep but was now dead. The pup panicked and ran back to the group meant to go hunting. “Fallensnow. She’s dead. She was asleep when I left her but I could tell she wasn’t breathing just now. I don’t know what to do.” She said.

"What?! What do you mean she's dead?! How could she have died? Are the pups alive?" As he questioned Daisypup he death sense went off. Oh Starpack, she's right! Fallensnow's dead! He started to tremble again but it wasn't that noticeable. It was then that his senses were flooded by death all around and he started shaking. Oh Starpack it's getting worse, why are there so many deaths?

“Thank Starpack the pups are okay. But what do I tell them...” Daisypup said. They were still young and she was certain she couldn’t keep an eye on them all by herself. Why did Fallensnow have to go so soon. What if the pups wanted to hear stories about their mother? The thoughts were overwhelming. Plus she knew no stories of Fallensnow to tell the young pups. The image of her dead adoptive mother and the smell of death made her tremble slightly.

Fallensnow is... dead? No. Eaglepaw felt his heart hammering away in his chest, and he felt as though he couldn't breath. First Moosestar, now Fallensnow. What's going to happen to her pups? Why did she have to die? Did she get sick, too? "We have to tell someone," Eaglepaw blurted. That much was clear. The first dog that came to mind was Duskpelt, but she was no where to be seen- "Roseglow!" Eaglepaw yelped, and he scrambled towards the young warrior. "Roseglow! Fallensnow is dead! Daisypup just saw her. What are we going to do?!"

Despite his terror, he knew Daisypup needed him. He stopped his trembling,came over to her and leaned into her as a means to comfort her. He had to hide his fear so he wouldn't make his friends worry more. He realized that Daisypup was becoming like a sister to him and he wanted to protect her even if that meant hiding his fear from her.

WHAT?! How? Fallensnow looked fine the last time Emberstorm saw her. Another death... Just as things were starting to get better. She felt horrible again. She whimpered slightly. Everyone was in a panic. She saw Nightpaw comforting Daisypup, and decided to lie down next to them to try to add a sense of security. Emberstorm had no idea what to do. She desperately looked at Cindermist and Roseglow.
Could she have died to the same thing that killed Moosestar? Moosestar died of poison. How about Fallensnow? Maybe I should ask Willowstep to check if it's poison. Wait... Willowstep is not in camp; she's with Badgerstrike. Ashpaw!! She looked around for the medicine dog apprentice. But he seemed to be nowhere in sight. Maybe he went out. She'll go looking for him as soon as everything calms down.

Daisypup thought of Fallensnow as a kind dog who didn’t deserve to leave her pups this way. She had grown very close to Fallensnow. She had been like a second mother to her. At least he pups were okay. She would try her best to watch after him as if they were her younger siblings. She willed her body to stop shaking. She refused to look like a frightened pup in front of everyone. “Ashpaw went to collect herbs but that was a while ago...” she said. She thought of Nightpaw like an older brother so she nuzzled him, hoping she could help comfort him. She was sure he was still worried. Daisypup was worried for Ashpaw. Maybe if she had gone to help Ashpaw collect herbs he would have been back before Fallensnow had died.
