The Academy was already busy when Lucas and Lazarus returned, teachers and students from all kinds of narratives thronging around the place. Among the crowd, were a couple of Three's clones, although Lucas couldn't currently see the real Three. While most students were busy catching up over the summer, rumours about the mysterious disappearances of both Professor Maedryn and former Professor Doctor Cerebrist swept through the school, each more outlandish than the last.

"...Can't spot them," Lucas said, his eyes darting about.

"Should we roll in, then?" Lazarus asked, having some implications and pun to that question.

"...You know how tempting it is to just start rolling around in these, huh?"

"Exactly."

The two were wearing similar pairs of jackboots [Lucas's were black with green accents to go with his typical outfit's color scheme and Lazarus's matched his scarf]... but they had wheels tucked into them on the bottoms. Heelyboots, a creation Lazarus's older cousin had made and become semi-popular for in his world, to be more specific.

"So... I guess we're going to look for them?" Lazarus asked after a pause.

"Yeah."

The two began a not-entirely aimless search... but it was also half an excuse to roll around on academy grounds.

It took a while to find Three, but they were eventually able to spot them in a corner of the Courtyard, speaking to a Fantasy-type villain, with black cloak and snake-shaped staff, skin sallow and impressively scarred, and sporting a traditional Villainous Goatee. Three nodded as they approached.

"Hey, Three! We've arrived... uh, clearly. Wait- are you busy? Should I wait before we start rambling?" Lucas said upon closer approach.

"Lucas. Lazarus. Hello. I see you both have ridiculous shoes now. I'll be with you in a moment."

[grey matter]

"They're absolutely ridiculous and... we'll be over there," Lucas said, pointing in another direction as Lazarus already started off that way, Lucas soon following after.

"...They aren't that ridiculous, are they?" Lazarus asked as he came to a stop.

"They are, and I feel like you should've known that." Lucas glanced in the direction of where most of their dance during the break took place, reminiscing a little. "...they're ridiculous, but it's not like I could say no to these."

"...You don't have to keep wearing them if you don't want to."

"Nah, I like them well enough to at least wear them right now. Might not become my default shoes, though."

"These are absolutely going to be mine. I am going to roll everywhere."

Lucas just laughed and smiled a bit.

Three approached them a few minutes later, saying goodbye to their friend. "Welcome back."
