"Yeah, makes sense... though I'm just... a person with a general obsession with lasers and a mind for machine-making and plotting, at the moment. Not really a patchwork of others, just... a relatively undefined person, I guess. I haven't made much of a name for myself at all, minus those who know of me through a thing I built for them..." They frowned a little, but it quickly went back to a neutral expression, when they realized they were being highly... expressive and vulnerable, at this moment! They had to get that under control...

"Ah, you'll figure it out," he encourages. "Most people are just a patchwork of others somewhat. Draw inspiration from them. Develop due to their influence. Nobody is really their own creation. Not like there is nothing wrong with that. People start as patchworks, end as something entirely different. Influenced, but not puppeted."

[grey matter]

They nodded. "Well, it's not like these cells are going to be mine forever anyways, it'd make sense that it's somewhat alike," they said, rather ominous if taken out of context. They realized what they had said moments after and their expression briefly shifted to worry about that. That was... uh, a sentence, at least. Horrible wording, though.

[Imbion]

He just blinks. That was... Bad wording from them. He had no idea what they were going for. "I don't follow on that train of thought."

[grey matter]

"Uh. Don't mind it," they said. "Please ignore that. Or... anything but mention it ever again. I am... very embarrassed." Laser fiddled with their lab coat pocket, not really sure what to do with themself. "Words came out of my mouth far too fast for me to... say them in a better manner. Sorry. They had no idea if this was too many apologies but This Was Not A Good Thing and This Was Ruining The Very, Very Loose Plan of this Conversation. Gadzooks.

[Imbion]

"Is that so?" He lets out an amused chuckle. "Ah, that happens to the best of us. Perhaps try saying it in a better manner for me?"

[grey matter]

"I'm already a patchwork of... cells that will eventually die and be turned into energy for something else, so what's another... patchwork-ness?" they retried. "Is that comprehensible?"

[Imbion]

Ah. A scientific metaphor. Crucible nods. He gets what they are saying.

"You are referring to the natural state of the ecosystem and death, yes? The fact that creatures decompose and become nutrients for the dirt, growing plants that will feed other creatures. The cycle of life. Your cells came from something before, and will be reused by something else... You are already a patchwork of some sort, so how can becoming a patchwork of something else hurt?" He's doing a little bit of hand gestures. It seemed like he was having trouble describing the idea, but was just acting a little bit put together for aesthetic purposes.

[grey matter]

"Yes, yes, exactly! But... with every being, there are some unique things that the cells make up... like fingerprints. Humans are just... unique patchworks. Because even then... no patchwork is exactly the same as another, even if they're cut from the same cloth... Sorry, maybe I'm getting a little too philosophical there." They placed a hand on their neck and scratched at it a little.

[Imbion]

"Ah, nothing wrong with being philosophical." He looks around for a few seconds, seemingly for something, then back at Laser. "I am a bit tired of standing around. Why don't we find somewhere to sit?"
