Honeyrose lifted her head curiously at the dog in front of her. He had a strange name, but maybe he was a doggiepet. He didn't seem hostile so she leaned forward and sniffed the dog. He smelled a bit scared. Perhaps he was lost. "Hello, I'm Honeyrose. I'm from the Riverpack. Are you lost?" She kept her voice gentle and smooth in case the strange dog actually was lost. Her brown eyes scanned the probably-doggiepet's pelt. He was wearing an unusually smooth piece of fur or pelt around his neck. His fur was a caramel color, much like her own. Maybe he wasn't lost and was from an enemy clan. Wait, but that didn't make sense. He had a doggiepet name!

indent Charlie glanced around nervously as the stranger spoke "uh yes I believe I am a little lost, I was out here searching for-" he stopped suddenly, something dawning on him "honeyrose? of riverpack? so the tales are true! there really are packs in the forest!" his tail wagged with excitement and his paws shifted from side to side a little nervously "I was hoping to find a pack, I wanted to see if they were real, all the other dogs where I live say that the packs were just myths, legends to scare pups who misbehaved."

Honeyrose stared at the doggiepet like he just asked her if mice could fly. "You...want to find a pack?" She finally said, flicking her tail back and forth through the air. She had heard that outpackers and some old doggirpets told stories about the packs occaissonally but why would they tell them stories like that to scare pups? The packs weren't all that bad.

The sight of the moonpool had her captivated, dogs and wolf dogs of the past and the pool was so reflective that she was sure the other dogs could see her but they never did. She woke up with renewed vigor to learn more about the packs. She looked towards the the borders of riverpack and windpack and zoomed off.

He was getting a drink by the river reflecting on the dream he had and why he left Shadowpack. He was glad he did, as they are ruthless and cruel.

Back on Thunderpack's borders lay a wolfdog and a mix. They had a harrowing encounter with Shadowpack and were now sleeping in the roots of a tree. Firelight had a pretty bad gash on her side not to mention a couple of scratches and Mischief wasn't much better.

indent he nodded enthusiastically at her "yes! yes!" his tail wagged excitedly "as I said, all the dogs back where I lived spoke of them, they believed the packs were made up. evil packs of dogs that would find and pupnap any puppy who was misbehaving. I believed it to be a load of nonsense! what dog in their right mind would pupnap an innocent puppy because he was being a little naughty. so I came into the forest to find a pack and prove them wrong. " he honestly couldn't believe he had been able to find a pack member. he had been searching this forest everyday for the last three days, escaping through the dog flap early in the morning and returning late at night after unsuccessfully searches, and here he was, face to face with a real member from a real pack!!

Honeyrose calmed down as soon as the doggiepet's tail started to wag. He was harmless. She knew some of her pack would sneer and look down their noses at her, telling her how bad doggiepets were. But this one seemed so nice. "Yeah, there is very little pupnapping in the clans. Except when pups are super, super bad..." She said. She hoped Charlie would catch on that she was joking. It would be pretty awkward if he didn't.

Oh, wait, stars! What was she doing? Joking around with a doggiepet? Her mind flooded with dogs repeating the warrior code and telling her to do the same. "A warrior rejects the soft life of a doggiepet." the voice drawled, giving no emotion. Was she really doing wrong?

indent Charlie was having a really hard time containing so much excitement within his small body. he had actually proved those posh know it all pure breeds wrong! packs were a thing and by god was he happy to have met one. he wondered if honeyrose would take him to her pack, he would not refuse such an offer, all his life he had lived in awe of these packs, believing the pupnapping to be ridiculous. if she did ask, he hoped his humans wouldn't miss him much, they were often out of the house doing human things until very late so he rarely saw them now adays. he would however miss the elder dog who lived next door, Cherie was always willing to tell him stories and he certainly would missing hearing them, but this would be a story he could perhaps tell her. he glanced up at honeyrose as she spoke again, catching her joke, and he chuckled softly "thats a good one. I like that." he said with a soft smile. so is it true that you have leaders and deputies? and a warrior code?"

Honeyrose sighed. "Yes, we do. But you should know, it's not all glory in the packs. The weakest dogs are sometimes banned from leaving camp if they can't hunt. It's scary." She caught herself thinking pessimistically so she added quickly, "But it's also really good! The pack protects you and feeds you if you can't feed yourself." She found herself enjoying this doggiepet's company. How strange, she thought, what would Mother think? She winced, thinking about her mother's caramel colored face growling about stupid doggiepets. Well, Mother wasn't here right now. She could be friends with whoever she wanted.

indent he listened intently to what she had to say, his tail wag slowing when she mentioned that weakest dogs were sometimes banned from leaving the camp. it certainly did seem scary, what if he was a weak dog? "by weak do you mean fighting weak?....ive never fought before...ive never had the reason to do so" his smile faded slightly as curiosity and concern replaced his happy expression. if I was to join would I be classed as a weak? I really would like to be a pack dog, ive always found their way of life interesting. could you teach me some skills? the basics? I'm a quick learner....I think" his tail wagged a bit more and a small chuckled escaped his mouth at his own joking uncertainty. he had never meet a dog as interesting as this one. that was for sure.

Honeyrose breathed in. Oh no, show him skills? She guessed she could do that. "Yeah, sure I will." She said, keeping her voice peppy and friendly. "So first- wait have you ever hunted before?"
Oh dear Starclan she hoped this doggiepet knew how to hunt. Surely she couldn't teach him hunting from scratch. Then again, he did seem smart and maybe he could hunt. But he probably couldn't fish. That'd be weird.
