Pineface has always believed that every cat has certain basic rights to be treated fairly, protected, and taken care of in times of
need. She is a cat who is full of empathy for others, and struggles to harden her heart to the plights of others if she feels there is
something she can do to help. If there is anything she can do to protect and support another cat, regardless of that cat's affiliation,
she will do it. Often, she is among the first to speak up when she perceives an injustice. This led her to develop a reputation as a
chronic complainer among the less sensitive cats who did not share Pineface's penchant for activism. She never expected that she
would one day end up in need of help, herself. It was supposed to be an innocent game, a contest between herself and her lover to
see who could climb higher up the mighty spruce. One mis-step was all it took to send Pineface tumbling down into a firethorn
bush below. It softened her fall and protected her from broken bones, but at the cost of her eyes, injured by the sharp thorns. At
first, she was expected to recover some, if not all of her vision, but then the infection set in. Pineface is lucky to be alive.
Marigoldripple's skills were able to see her through the fevers that came and went, but there was no saving her eyesight. With all
the time she spent in the medicine den, in the company of someone trained to notice such details, Pineface learned she was
expecting kits, and fought hard to live for them as much as herself. When she finally did regain her health, she moved to the
nursery to anxiously await the arrival of her kits, but not before taking on a new name. To honor the strength and willpower it took
for her to conquer the life-threatening infection and transform her injury into a badge of honor, she was called Deadeyes. She
hopes her kits will be healthy, despite her own poor health during most of her pregnancy, but until they are born, she cannot know
for sure. Meanwhile, the health of her future as a warrior is even more uncertain.

foxpaw is an energetic and curious tom. he loves to trot around camp and see what everyone is doing, often visiting the elders or clanmates stuck in the med-den. he is a kind and friendly apprentice, though he often lands himself in some interesting situations due to his crafty and impulsive nature. foxpaw is very observant, and whilst it might get on his clanmates nerves if he spots them trying to sneak off, this trait allows him to notice his clanmates who are more unsociable. he makes it a habit to seek these cats out and befriend them, however unwilling they are at first. he hopes to hone his skills and one day earn the title of deputy to help guide his clanmates through troubling times, though he knows he still has a lot to learn about his clan and himself first.

foxpaw had a rather average upbringing. he was born on a early greenleaf morning to echostep and swiftwind, his loving parents. he was named foxkit after his vibrant russet fur, and his speed at a very young age. his mother recalls fondly the time he had scaled the side of the nursery when she had turned her head for merely a second.

he grew up playing with the other kits in the nursery, having no siblings of his own. this never bothered foxkit though - why would it! it didnt matter, he could have all the fun he wanted tussling around with the other kits! he grew up with the mentality of the clan being one big extended family, and he holds his clanmates in the highest regard, accepting their criticism and praise with an eager passion to learn.
