Thornheart sighed as she watched the comings and goings of the camp, pups yelping, apprentices laughing, and warriors, well, mostly out of camp. She huffed as her stomach grumbled, and heaved herself up, limping towards the Preypile, and selecting a juicy-looking mouse. Spring was good after a long winter, and Thornheart was already looking forward to Summer, when it was the warmest, and where she could lay in the sun for hours on end, undisturbed. Hahaha, Thornheart you introvert. You also like summer because that's when the pups born in the springtime come to listen to stories.

Dawnpaw sighed as she put away the ointment, glancing around the tidy medicine den as she did so. Why did they have to try running? Why did we have to try attack? Why do we have to have such a dumb reputation for being bloodthirsty monsters? Dawnpaw slammed the chamomile they'd collected that day into an empty nook in the stony cave wall before walking outside, wondering if she could get something to eat by now. We have that reputation because of our leaders, and past. First Bramblestar, now Velvetstar. I've heard our elders talk about them, especially Bramblestar. They valued ambition and aggression, so naturally, that was the trait that other packs saw in us.

She got to the den to get small naps, as she was not being needed at the moment for anywhere, then why not pass this time for resting. She curled into her nest and opened her eyes to get some sleep, she was pretty tired anyway as she was being up for some time.

indent the black and white boston terrier pulled himself out of his wonderful dream of roaming through a forest full of prey within paws reach! he heard his stomach growl and decided it was probably time for him to have a small bite of something. so the black and white tom jumped up, and headed out the den careful not to step on anyones tails or paws. once outside he headed straight to the fresh kill pile and glanced around for anyone he could offer his company too when his eyes fell on thornheart. he smiled slightly and padded over to the elder. "hello thornheart. may I offer my company?" he questioned.

indent shadedleap wondered into camp with a few bits of fresh kill in her mouth and placed them delicately on the fresh kill pile, dipping her head in respect to thornheart and crowspots, chuckling slightly to herself at the way that crowspots had asked if he could join thornheart. once she had placed the prey down she scanned the clan looking for the deputy, but to her hearts dismay she didnt seen the pretty dog. shadedleap just wanted to talk to the deputy, about what? she didn't really know, she just wanted to be in the company of the one dog that made her little heart beat a little faster. sighing sadly she lay down and watched the camp.

Thornheart smiled warmly at Crowspots. "I'd be delighted to share your company," she said warmly, settling down on the grass with her mouse and beginning to eat it, licking her lips, savoring the flavor of a spring-caught mouse. "So, done anything exciting yet today, Crowspots?" Thornheart asked with a smile, still munching on the mouse. I remember when I was the one to catch these little things, sometimes a dozen a day. My mentor always said I had skills for burrowing and not large game, after all.

“Yeah. I’m sure you’d get along well with the pups here.” Snowstorm said. Flarepaw’s idea was a good one but Velvetstar had to have the final say on it. Velvetstar hadn’t turned down a pup ever. The warrior doubted she would start now. Snowstorm had great respect for Velvetstar and agreed with the leader on multiple occasions in the past.

indent crowspots smiled and settled down next to the elder before tucking into his own mouse, stomach growling slightly. he had always had a huge appetite but new he had to be selfless and only eat more once everyone in his clan had had something, so often times he went with just one meal. he glanced up at thornheart when she spoke "oh not really. I went for a dawn hunt this morning, and a small wonder around the forest, before having a small snooze. not a very exciting day to say the least. how about you?"" he questioned.

She relaxed at her nest, her eyes closed trying to calm down enough to sleep, but she was little too awaken to sleep anymore, even if she felt tired. She opened her eyes thinking about what she could do now, maybe she could take a hunting patrol out now, but was there enough warriors to ask at. She left the den, to look around the clearing her eyes turning to the pup and Flarepaw "Flarepaw, help the pup to make a nest to the nursery for now" she told her, turning to Snowstorm "Are you busy Snowstorm? Do you want to come to a hunting patrol with me and who else is able to come" she told the female dog "hmm, maybe either Crowspots or Shadeleap" she continued thoughtfully looking over the two warriors around the camp.

If it was nearly anyone else so diligently warning her to be cautious and secretive, Rive would have been skeptical, but Needlefang was a different story. Not only was Needlefang a trusted friend, but she also had StarPack on her side. Those were enough reasons for Rive to convince her of the truth in the medicine dog's words.
"They won't hear it from me."
Rive's resolute promise almost surprised her. It seemed to slip from her jaws without thinking. She did not hesitate long, and instead set to work assisting in the excavation as she had been before Velvetstar had called her meeting. Needlefang's sense of urgency, coupled with the arrival of those strangers, left Rive with a sense of unease. Normally, she would have looked on passively, but with a task to channel her feelings into, Rive felt empowered.
"How far will this thing go, anyway?"
Rive paused briefly to swipe her tongue across her lips in an attempt to brush the dirt out of her whiskers. All the while, she kept her voice lowered.
"This could take awhile... I doubt anyone but Thornheart would even notice I'm missing, but...
She trailed off, resuming digging while letting her thought hang in the air, leaving the rest to Needlefang's imagination.
