Okay, so first things first, check out this CS rule;



So don't PM me about this, I will foe you and report you. It's not acceptable behaviour, and in the rule stated above, you can't copyright a species. So if I make an offbrand, don't take it to court. You won't get anywhere.

I also don't want to find myself banned from those communities I make offbrands of. Again, it's unreasonable.

If this is against the rules of CS (which I checked before making this) then fine, report me or whatever, but if you report me for any other reason, I will foe you!

So why do some people get so mad about 'offbrands'?

Because people get these notions in their head that they are going to be stolen from, and are so deeply insecure about it that they look for reasons just to get mad about it.


Just ignore them. You know you didn’t copy them, and they cannot stop you unless they went through a legal process to patent their creation and can prove it. Stating that you can’t use some idea because it is theirs is selfish and ruins the collective creativity of our species.

Besides, while admiration is the furthest thing from understanding, understanding something cannot start without admiration.
