She does her best to protect even though she can't be everywhere at once, she tries to be...Even though she fears people getting too harmed, especially the children, she is a martial artist, working to teach others the ability of self defense, that way she won't have to be scared. She is quite the woman once you get to meet her. Strong, but always fearful of others getting harmed beyond repair. She cannot watch news because of this reason, including documentaries on war. It hurts for her to watch and know she cannot assist..

what's a fear of theirs?:

Deimi's greatest fear is being lost in the cold, without any warmth.

Growing up in the Northern Barrens, even the smallest sources of warmth were precious- fur-lined jackets, huddling with friends and family, small stubs of candle and sputtering hearths were all used in an attempt to combat the vicious winter and freezing winds. It worked, for the most part, but even as a kit Deimi was afraid of the numbing cold, the snarling winds that threatened the flames they coaxed into life.

But she grew up strong, and when she was of age? She entered the ranks of the Sunguard as a novice in training, and eventually rose to become a full member of the regiment, tasked with guarding the Eternal Flame.

Deimi had vivid memories as a child of the Flamebearers- part of a ceremony in which the bearers, escorted by Sunguards, would visit towns twice a year, and use embers from the flame itself to keep the central hearths going. Those tiny embers had always seemed so, so warm to Deimi, and standing by the hearth after the bearers had gone, warming her paws and face over the dancing flames, always seemed to chase away that dreadful cold- even if temporarily.

Deimi had thought that becoming a Sunguard, being close to the flame at all times, would help with her fear, give her a sense of security, of insulation from the cold. She had her regiment, her compatriots, her friends around her, and was in the presence of the Flame's power every day. Though Sunguards were not often admitted into the Flame's chamber, they could still feel the powerful, magical, unabating heat that warmed the compound of the Sunguards, even melting the snow and allowing for flowers to grow.

But now, having felt the full power of the flame first hand- Deimi was just as afraid, if not more so. Knowing this warmth, she was terrified of ever losing it- of being sent away, back to her village, where the scraps of warmth that had contented her as a child seeming pale and dissatisfying compared to the power of the flame.

Standing atop the walls of the compound, gazing out across the bleak, cold landscape she calls home, the memory of the cold that dogged her steps and nipped at her heels for years- that still beset her old neighbors- seems all the more terrifying in the light of the Eternal Flame.
