Three opened the door. "Lazarus, you need to leave soon." They looked around. "Neither of you seem to have destroyed the classroom. Well done."

[grey matter]

"Gee, thanks... Oh! Three, question! Actually, scratch that, we can deal with this once the year actually starts and we start experimenting..." Lazarus said, vaguely. "Not you, of course, me and Lucas. Just... experiments."

"We're going to poison one another, as one does, and we want someone on call, or, I dunno, a clone, someone to drag us over to where we can be revived and, y'know, revive our stupidly over-poisoned selves," Lucas added. "All in good fun."

"Ooh, was that an 'as one does' where nobody would do it at all? You're playing to my favorite tropes, Lucas, how could you?"

Lucas shrugged. "Probably picked it up from you."

"And dare I ask why you want to poison yourselves?"

[grey matter]

"...Science. I didn't want to test poisonous plants on anyone else, but I need to be able to observe the effects..." Lucas said.

"And one-sided pain is very un-fun," Lazarus interrupted. "So, we suffer! Because reasons!" Such enthusiasm for someone who may or may not die and come back to life...

[the-nug-king]

"Really? Just test it on a clone! Dying of poisoning is painful. And we don't even know yet how good this year's re-animation class will be."

[grey matter]

"...Oh, right. Clones," Lucas remembered.

"Fun bonding activity out the window... though, I am still intrigued by the fact that... poison has taste. And I could consume poison."

"Let's just cook normal food, then."

"Okay, normal food... no death food..." Lazarus sighed. "Wait, let's use the mild stuff then! For science!"

"I'll just use the clones, I'd rather not use you at this point... Three has given us a logical solution."

"But food poisoning, Lucas! Food poisoning! If we feel like doing stupid sadistic things, then we can just- okay, actually, maybe not. I don't feel like getting food poisoning. I'd rather get normal poisoning. And that, is... hyperbole, but still."

"Yeah, normal food... for now. Unless we start getting too intense during cooking. Then I will gladly break out the food poisoning-level stuff."

"Is that a challenge?"

"...So you remembered the clones when thinking of how to get dragged to the infirmary or re-animation labs, but not when actually thinking about test subjects? Well, I'm glad you're going to use them, anyway. And you ended up organising what I am lead to believe is an ordinary date out of it! Congratulations. Seriously. I wasn't sure you were capable of it."

"I only remembered you having clones, I don't use clones much! Besides, my mind thinks chaotically when it's with him!" Lucas said, motioning to Lazarus.

Meanwhile, Lazarus was in awe of the fact that they had just planned what was appearantly a normal date. He was without words... for once.

"Well, that's probably sweet. You're going to have to wait until the start of the school term, though. Lazarus needs to leave soon."
