He picked up the syringes as if they were some sort of immortality elixirs. "Woah... this is a lot easier than a doctor's appointment and mental health evaluations, but I have no idea how to perform makeshift solo HRT... but thanks, DarkBoard. Would you happen to have like, antibacterial wipes and bandages or do I need to go find those myself? And do I just administer this to my arm, or...?"

There's a deep sound like several hundred voices indistinctly grumbling, and DarkBoard dispenses the wipes and bandages. "Administer them however you choose, student. We have assisted enough."

[grey matter]

"Alrighty then, thanks. Sorry for... bothering you?" He stared at the portal for a moment before wiping off his skin and injecting himself with the first one... then going off to his room to look up how to administer the second because he was worried about screwing that one up more than the other.

The next morning, Three knocked on Lucas' door.

And Lucas answered. "Three! Oh, hey, you can come in if you want, though it's a bit... cluttered." His desk was an utter mess of pieces and scraps and two syringes neatly placed to the side of it, various labeled small and medium machines sitting on a dresser behind a row of (seemingly recently made) rapid-grow pots, labeled with their planned holdings and current holdings ("Purple Potatoes," "Red Potatoes" & "Golden Potatoes" had a few seeds ready in them, and "Lily of the Valley" and "Yew Plant?" were not planted yet.) His bed was only half-made, with a blanket sitting on the back of his desk chair. His floor was clear minus some papers place on their side under the desk.

Three came in, glancing around the room. They looked remarkably neat as always, with no signs of tiredness. "Good morning. I hope you're having a good day, so far. I brought this back," they pulled Lucas' potato grower from their pocket. "And I'll need to destroy the message-discs I gave you."

[grey matter]

"Oh, you can keep that, but here are..." he fiddled around with his pockets, briefly pulling out a few Allen wrenches [when did he order from Ikea last? How long has it been since he emptied these pockets?] and putting it back before getting out the message-discs and handing them to Three. " These."

"If you're certain. I'm unsure how often I'll make use of it. So. I need to destroy these, and Maedryn's body, before I do anything else. Oh, and I don't suppose you want to be the new Forbidden Knowledge professor? The post goes to whoever defeated the last one, but I have zero desire for it. DarkBoard can register you as Maedryn's killer if you'd like - although it's entirely possible that that would end up causing trouble for you - or we can simply log Maedryn as disappearing under mysterious circumstances."
