“Any preference of where you want to go?” she asked him, as she walked along a pathway that was still covered in fall leaves, well what was left of it. It was spring already even with a slight chill, but Aria preferred spring over any other season really. She could remember the fun times in the spring when she would just sit under a tree and enjoy the nice cool breeze and the birds chirping.


Pushing the memories aside, Aria flicked her ears around and listened to things around her. The birds were chirping, bees were buzzing and other creatures were stirring. The sound made her feel relaxed and she closed her eyes for a moment, letting the sounds relax her.

Rerina offered her friend a reassuring smile and swished her tail at her. “Alright if you insist, but I don’t wanna hear it out of ya later on!” she spoke and then listened carefully to what else she said. “What’s your idea then? I definitely don’t have one! Let’s hear what ya got!” Rerina asked her.


She was up for whatever idea Aspen would throw out there to go get the pheasants. She was definitely curious since after all she was not much of a hunter, regardless of her used to be a delta. She knew how to catch things to a point but she was never really that great at catching big prey like elk or deer.

Kayla smiled cheerfully, “Prefect, thank you!” She bumped Coon with her hip, “We are both very grateful.” Her ears swiveled around again and her eyes flickered with gratitude. She couldn’t wait to lie down and rest her feet, she didn’t even think she had the energy to make a den, she could flip over and sleep anywhere at this point.

Coon continued eying Keltio until Kayla bumped him. “Fine yes, thank you very much for doing something we could have done ourselves.” He huffed and stood up again. “Well let’s go then, food and water and shelter aren’t going to find themselves” he muttered impatiently. He hated being told what to do, even by Kayla. She was treating him like a child.

Aspen grinned mischievously and stared at the pheasants with interest. "Well, I was thinking' that- you see how there are kinda only two places these bird could escape from? Only over here an' over on that side." She pointed with there tail over to a small opening in the glade where some sickly bushes had died and withered from the cold winter, never having a chance to recover. They were mere dry twigs and scattered bits of leaves now. "I wondered if we could maybe rush out at them birds, and you or I would hurry up over to one o' those sides so they can't escape from there." She looked at Rerena as if for conformation.

Listening to the other wolf’s words, well to the best of her ability really. Rerina glanced onto the two birds and then at her friend. “Since I can still see, I’ll make sure to run over to the spot so they don’t escape. Think you can handle this? Kind of reminds me of the time we were trying to chase down that darn hare years ago....” she said with a grin, wondering if Aspen remembered that time.


It was a fun time, since they were younger then. Full of spunk, sass and agility. Rerina thought back to when they both were chasing the hare and how they nearly messed up till one of them managed to make a quick renouver, then caught the hare. It was a decent size one for sure, but they both got injured that day. Rerina definitely remembers the look on her daughter’s face when she returned with a cut above her eye. To this day she still had the scar, well faint really.

Aspen smirked at Rerena, as the memory surfaced. The light scar on her right hind leg tingled, as if it remembered too. "We were only Trainees, were we not? Gracious, that was so long ago!" Aspen giggled like a small pup as she remembered how she had stumbled over a log, trying to get the hare. Her eyes unfocused slightly as she smiled, fondly remembering what happened. The little rabbit seemed to be laughing at her! How rude. Aspen had nipped at the bobbing cotton tail as it waggled in front of her, seemingly taunting the Trainee. Her leg got caught on a branch from the dead tree she was struggling over, and had given it a rip. She yelped, more out of frustration than of pain. "Fox fangs!" she had barked. The rabbit had only flinched, knowing that she wouldn't be able to get it. The creature was right. Aspen didn't get it: Rerena did. Her friend had bust out of the bushes, slamming her paws onto its neck. Before the rabbit's soul had left its body, it gave a powerful kick and hit Rerena's eye. She growled and bit its neck. Fair enough. Aspen got herself unstuck from the branch and slid to the ground as she and her fellow hunt mate began to laugh. Aspen blinked out of her memory and her body seemingly began to get older. She could feel it. The Gamma shook her head lightly, trying to clear it. She could small the birds and it made her mouth water. The scent was rich, and the pheasants were fat. "I suppose we had better get to it, eh?" She wagged her tail at her friend and dropped to a hunting crouch.

A small chuckle escaped from the old wolf’s mouth when she thought of the fond memories. Thinking of it made her body ache even more and she grunted slightly. She probably thought it was the cool weather causing her own body to feel achy and sore.


“Ya let’s go ahead with the plan and catch those darn things! I can’t wait to go back to the den and relax these old bones in the sun. Hopefully none of the young ones don’t hog up my special spot...” she said, shaking her head at the thought. Not that she mind sharing her spot with the younger ones, but sometimes she liked having her own little relaxing spot to herself.

Aspen nodded as sunlight dappled the forest floor. She didn't want to miss the beautiful morning sun, the perfect temperature. Not too hot, like mid-sun, but not too cold, like in the evening. Her back popped once as she inched forwards, narrowing her eyes "I am totally ready to get that bird and make a necklace out of its feathers." The Gamma teased, wagging her tail and glancing at her old friend. The pheasants appeared to be raging at each other over a worm. How inappropriate! Aspen had never, ever squabbled over food. Nope, not ever. She flicked her ears sassily at the birds as her paws tingled with excitement.

Keltio gave a small not to Kayla before glancing over at Coon and rolling her eyes. She found no need to acknowledge the male. There was absolutely no benefit in doing so. Instead, she replied to the other female, "It's not a problem at all, follow me."

Quelie let out a pleasant sigh as he walked alongside her and pondered her question for a moment. He felt the peaceful breeze ruffle through his fur. The plant spring air put him in a good mood already, and the presence of his beloved alpha only made it better. He took another moment before replying, "Well, as I said, I am not one to plan these types of things, so I suppose we could just go where the wind takes us. Really anywhere works for me. It's a nice territory all over, in my opinion."
With her question answered, Quelie was once again able to observe the beautiful scenery around him. It was a perfect spring day in his eyes. Just the right amount of sun and wind which was only complemented by the pleasant noises made by the birds. Although, he found the sight of his alpha to be just as ravishing.

Altair paused as a silvery loner showed himself, causing him to blink rapidly. After a short bout of silence, the male found his tongue. "Duko eh?" He tilted his head then huffed and sat down. "Calm down dude, you're not on pack land at least not as far as I know." Not like it would be my job to chase him off anyways. He thought absently. He left that hard work for the warriors. "The name's Altair, nice to meet you." He glanced around and took a deep whiff of the air to make sure they were truly alone. He'd hate for one of his pack-members to catch the two talking and insinuate that he wasn't loyal to the pack.

Though that train of thought wasn't far off, he was loyal to the pack, just maybe not to its current management. Letting his muscles relax, the brute gave his shoulders a roll stretching the muscles in his front legs a little. Turning his gaze back to the loner, he tilted his head and asked, "You from around here?"

While Nisha chuckled softly when Brutus joked about the border leaving him in shambles, the reminder that she'd have to tell Aria about the pup caused her to nearly trip over her own paws. A rumbling groan tumbled from her throat, as she closed her eyes. It was times like these that Nisha hated being beta. Part of her wanted to shirk the duty off on some poor omega, but decided that would be bad form. Turning her gaze to the male she spoke, her tone bland and dry. "I hate you so much right now, Brutus."

There were times that Nisha loved her ranking, like the times when some trainee got a little snappy and caused problems. And other times when she absolutely loathed it. Like right now, when she had to inform the alpha of the current news, with was both bad and good. Good, because there was a new pup in the pack, new life, and new blood. Bad because this pup was alone, and has far as she could tell had been abandoned for one reason or another. Or maybe the pup's parents were dead. Nisha paused as she realized that she didn't know the pup's name. "So pup, what's your name?"

He nodded absently the barked," Well thanks for the help." He started toward the entrance of the den before pausing at its mouth and turning back to look at the two she-wolves. "I'll be sure to find one of you two if they start to hurt or burn." Shaking out his coat a little, careful not to dislodge any of the herbs, Elon stepped out of the healer's den and into the sunlight once more. He glanced around, and headed straight for the prey pile, intent on getting something to eat.
