Sunflare let out a purr at the apprentice's joke. "Well, not much right now. We're just guarding camp until the others get back. But I'm sure you and Dawntrail will be able to go out once they return."
Riverstripe blinked softly at her. "I wouldn't tell anyone," he replied, almost sounding a bit hurt; but his hurt tone changed to a curious one as he added, "So why did you tell me then?"
Tigerblaze didn't hesitate to respond despite knowing what kind of reaction he'd get, but he barely had a chance to open his mouth before Blizzardclaw repeated the question. "I'd tell you if you'd wait more than two seconds for me to respond before asking me again," he replied dryly. "I sent them to search EagleClan territory," he went on, no trace of nervousness or guilt in his voice. In his eyes, he had done nothing wrong; he had only done everything he could to try and find Bearpaw. If he's going to try and have me punished for searching for and finding his rowdy apprentice that he can't even control, then so be it. If Beestar was smart, she'd understand. And if she wasn't, well...Tigerblaze wouldn't be surprised. "In any case, I don't know why you assumed they'd be with us, or that I should know where they are. You were the one who sent us in separate directions. "
Splashfeather flattened her ears, aware that they were still within view of the kittypets and not wanting Tigerblaze and Blizzardclaw to begin arguing in front of them. "Can we discuss this when we get back to camp?" she interrupted. "Bearpaw needs to get back and rest."
Dustkit still didn't lift her head at the sound of her mother's voice, only peeking out ever so slightly when the tom-kit in front of her batted a ball of moss at her. She looked at the moss, then at him. He was bigger than her and Poppykit, but not as big as the other cats she had seen. Hesitantly, she reached out a paw and nudged it back.
EagleClan
"Of course," Southstar agreed, still keeping his gaze on the sleeping family. "Just let me know what I can do to help."
Nightwish had stopped next to Acornspots to listen to what Russetswirl had to say, but her gaze drifted to the rather outspoken OakClan apprentice. "We've been patrolling, and we haven't caught any sight or scent of her, so it's unlikely she's on our territory," she told Winterpaw gently. "If we find her, we'll be sure to let you know! But you really need to leave now. What if this apprentice is hurt somewhere else and waiting for someone to find her? You really should be checking other places."
Littleflower had just finished burying another mouse that she'd found, likely one of the ones that had escaped from the burrow earlier, when Quiverheart approached. "I think we can head back now," she replied. "We've caught a decent amount, given the weather. Hopefully Swiftbadger and Mistflower have had just as good luck! Let me just grab my prey." She dug up the mouse she'd just buried, then went back to where she'd buried the rest and collected it all before giving Quiverheart a nod.
Outside the Clans
Thunder stayed where he was for a moment, as if pondering what to do next. Then, with a little wag of his tail, he scrambled over the side of the nest and onto the ground where Axel was. It wasn't so bad after all. He mewled invitingly back at Fawn before continuing to teeter forward, deciding to explore the place.
