Mentoring Shadepaw
With Shadepaw
「xxxxxxxxxxxx」 Judging from Shadepaw's reaction, it was probably time reveal this aforementioned job. They might as well get started as soon as possible, so she chose to ignore what she interpreted as Shadepaw "playing" and got right to the point.
"It's a moss job." Falconstream announced. "We can always use more for our nests, so uh..."
She was unsure of how much to explain, and how much to reveal as it came up, so Falconstream trailed off for a moment before hastily regaining her composure.
"Anyway, let's get going. Do you know how to find moss?"
Shadepaw had been an apprentice long enough to have done her share of chores in the past, so Falconstream expected her to have some knowledge already. She wanted to check in and see where more instructions might be needed. While she waited for an answer, she turned her paws towards the waiting forest and looked back over her shoulder, gesturing with her tail for her apprentice to follow.

hickoryfoot looked at the tomcat that had approached her. she let his words echo in her ears for a moment before answering his question, "Sure. Any suggestions as to where we could go?" she asked with a flat tone. her and this tom had never been exactly close, or talked all that much. but he was a more experienced cat and respected him like any other cat. hickoryfoot's gaze had set on his piercing amber eyes. they made her feel fear and intimidation in hickoryfoots mind. but she pushed away the thought. 'cmon hickoryfoot. you know better than that.' she thought to herself. she flexed her claws into the dirt below them. "I could use some exercise" she added, this time her tone was more friendly.
honeypaw sensed the cats annoyance with her, she felt herself shrink down. she spoke more quietly and with less enthusiasum, "would you like to, maybe, uh, train? your really good with your battle moves and im not so good." she said. "and i cant find my mentor anywhere." she added quickly. she knew that cats didnt like her, and she had always tried to not let it bother her. but even another apprentice not liking her? that hurt.

)Moss! Sure, it wasnt quite the quest she had anticipated, but it was better than nothing. "Well, duhh-- I mean, yes of course I do," she announced. "Trees and rocks near the water! Lets follow the river." She pranced along the side of the stream, keeping an eye out for large boulders as they left the camp. "So who's the moss for exactly? Ashkit? That kit is sooo cute," she chatted, ignoring her knowledge of her mentors obvious dislike of the small kit. "You know.. I'm pretty sure he opened his eyes the other day. I swear I saw him staring at me with big blue eyes, and then he started talking, he said 'I want a mouse please'," she rambled, making it up as she went along.

mothpaw
perhaps he should have felt guilty for visibly upsetting honeypaw, but he figured why should he? if she was the one who approached him surely he shouldn’t be apologetic for her simply not getting the response she wanted. still, he couldn’t help but feel his attitude towards her soften slightly as he lifted his head to speak to her. her compliment touched the tom cat yet that arrogant voice in his head interrupted with a quick ‘i know.’
“have you eaten yet?” mothpaw asked as he continued to move forwards. he nudged honey’s shoulder with his tail, indicating for her to follow him. “you have to eat before we train, otherwise it’s a waste of time.”

██ [ ♕ ] REDCLOUD THE WARRIOR── !!
age. 32 ms gender. male rank. warrior mentors. frostpaw loc. camp mood. slightly anxious tags. slatestar, (frostpaw, tansyflower/mentioned)
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXDim light shone outside the den, as the sun slowly began to rise outside of the camp. His ears twitched and he let out a yawn, swiping his pink tongue over his muzzle. He rose to his paws after stretching, before padding out of the den and glancing around the camp. As usual, nothing of immediate interest was going on which was fine for the tom. That meant the day was normal, and he didn't have to worry about whatever the new issue was. He glanced toward the camp entrance for a moment, and let out a huff when he noticed the time. It would very well be sunhigh soon, if he didn't hurry up. Frostpaw must be thinking he was being lazy, a mentor should wake up on time to set a good example for his apprentice. Not like Frostpaw needed much of a good example. He would soon be nearing his assessment, as a matter of fact it was just about time for it. He was the tom's first apprentice, so just the thought of it was something beyond special. And here he was after all these moons, waking up late for training. He felt like he'd failed the apprentice, but he would make it up to him. Turning his gaze around camp, the tom spotted Frostpaw with Tansyflower. He didn't want to bother them, even though he knew the apprentice was beyond ready to get the day started as usual. Even more so with begin so close to being a warrior. He quickly scanned the camp for Slatestar, his amber gaze spotting the tom. He slowly padded over to the tom, dipping his head in respect and greeting. "Good morning, Slatestar", he said to the tom. "I'm sorry to bother, but I was hoping I could speak to you about something. Frostpaw. I believe its about time for his assessment", at the word assessment, the tom's voice dropped to a whisper. The two had come so far and now it was time for Frostpaw to get his reward. And that was becoming a warrior. His amber gaze dropped to his paws for a moment, before returning his gaze to Slatestar.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX██ [ ♕ ] ELMSHADE THE WARRIOR── !!
age. 25 ms gender. female rank. warrior mentors. n/a loc. camp mood. neutral tags. open
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXElmshade awoke as the noise of her chattering clanmates outside the den, awoke her from slumber. She let out a breath, as she stretched and shook out her fluffy pelt. Giving it a few brisk strokes with her tongue, she slowly turned and padded out of the den. She let out a breath as she gazed around the camp, wondering what her first task of the day would be. She didn't have an apprentice of her own, and she didn't mind not having one. They seemed like an awful lot of work, though from many warriors she had talked to they were a joy and an honor to train one. Perhaps, one day she would understand this, but for now the molly was content where she was with just being a simple warrior. Her green gaze slowly traveled around the camp, noticing the dawn patrol hadn't returned just yet. Perhaps, she'd go hunting with another warrior or two or perhaps wait until someone needed her. Of course, she'd never been one to sit around all day doing nothing. Eventually, she would find something to do. Settling down in a rather quiet spot of the camp, she could still hear the quiet murmurs of her clanmates at the other side of the camp. The cold stone floor was rough under her paws, but she had gotten used to it after many moons of walking on its smooth surface. She then laid her head on her paws, wrapping her tail around her side.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX██ [ ♕ ] SEDGEPAW THE APPRENTICE── !!
age. 12 ms gender. male rank. apprentice mentor. slatestar loc. camp mood. tired tags. open
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXSedgepaw awoke at the sound of quiet chattering outside the den, his whiskers twitching as he let out a heavy sigh. He let out a groan as he slowly rolled over in his nest, his ears flicking. He hated the awful groggy feeling he'd get after waking up every morning, letting out a huff as he slowly rose to his paws. How he hated the mornings, it seemed like he was more tired in the mornings than he was when he went to sleep every night. How strange things could be. He let out a huff, as he gazed down at the stone floor, no doubt would feel like ice underneath his paws. Carefully placing his paws on the stone floor, before slowly padding out of the den his tail nearly dragging on the ground. He glanced around the camp for a moment, before sitting down heavily near the apprentice den. He'd need a few moments to get his energy together. Until then he'd watch the camp, hoping that Slatestar was already up and ready for training.

Mentoring Shadepaw
With Shadepaw
「xxxxxxxxxxxx」 "Alright, then."
Falconstream went along with Shadepaw's suggestion to follow the stream without a fuss. There was no need for argument. Her apprentice was spot-on. So, she walked along the edge of the stream, a step or two behind Shadepaw, who pranced along, happily chatting about that annoying, mewling kit. It perplexed Falconstream that Shadepaw would be so enraptured with kits when she was far too young to be thinking about that sort of thing. The grey she-cat held her tongue for awhile, hoping that Shadepaw would get whatever kit fever she had out of her system and move on to a better topic, but Shadepaw managed to wear out Falconstream's patience first.
"Yes, fine, do you see any moss yet? Focus on what you're doing."
While she tried to hide her irritation, it was still fairly obvious that she was annoyed.Tansyflower

「xxxxxxxxxxxx」 Tansyflower frowned at the answer Frostpaw gave her about Redcloud. He had been a mentor for several moons now, and should absolutely know better than to neglect Frostpaw's training like this. Usually, Redcloud was most more responsible.
Tansyflower's frown softened into a lop-sided smile at Frostpaw's worries over skipping straight from apprentice to elder, but she respected his diligence in being on top of his training, even if Redcloud was not. His focus on his goal was to be rewarded with patience.
"No, I haven't seen Redcloud today, but I really should have by now. Where is that mouse-brain?"
She glanced to the left and the right, checking to see if she could catch a glimpse of Redcloud's ginger pelt, just in case she had missed him during her walk across camp. Sure enough, she found him. He was speaking to Slatestar, but the pair were too far away for her to hear what they were talking about. Frostpaw at least had a guess, and the timing seemed to match up.
"Actually..."
Tansyflower flicked an ear towards Slatestar and Redcloud to clue the apprentice into their conversation as subtly as possible, eyes sparkling with a knowing expression.
"You might be onto something, Frostpaw, but you didn't hear it from me. Best let them finish that talk, hm?"

honeypaw perked up, her eyes once again filled with excitement. but she tried to hid it from the other apprentice. "uh no. I havent." she said. she felt a pang of hunter stab at her stomach. but she knew warriors would only eat when the clan had been fed. so she ignored pain and added to her statement. "I was going to attempt to wait until shadowpelt took me hunting. but i havent seen him". honeypaw knew she needed more training if she ever wanted to become a warrior. but for some reason shadowpelt had been distant. she tried to pretend she wasnt disappointedby it
but cats had all known she was training alone more or less. honeypaw flicked her ear, glancing at mothpaw. he was a strong tom cat. and definitely had grown a lot.
slatestar turned to see the young warrior speaking to him. he watched the toms gaze. it was full of excitment. slatestar remembered the days of training his first apprentice. he knew redclouds feeling. he let the cat finish and smiled, "ah. yes frostpaw has shown some great skills and has proved to the clan he is ready to be a warrior. you've been a good mentor, redcloud. and you've shown pride in your apprentice. and I agree with you entirely. he is more than ready for his assessment." slatestar purred with approval. " now, for his warrior name. since this is your first apprentice, I'd appreciate your input for his full name. have any ideas?" he added. slatestar glanced at the apprentice and elder. he waved his tail poilelty but figured they hadn't seen him.

Shadowpelt
36 Moons ~ Tom-cat ~ Warrior ~ On Patrol ~ Tags: Faircrown, Jackdawpounce, Honeypaw (mentioned)
Shadowpelt followed Faircrown's lead and began on the way back to the clan. He had not voiced his opinion on twolegs eating the black rock. All of Shadowpelt's kithood he'd been surrounded by twolegs and eaten their food, he's even seen the nest of the foul-smelling monsters one day when he had explored to far, but he'd never seen the twolegs eat the black rock or even carry it. He had so many theories on why the twolegs wanted the rocks but he decided to keep them to himself. If there was one thing he had learned not to do it was reminding his clan mates that he had been an outsider not more than 15 moons ago and that he'd grown up in a twoleg settlement.
He shook his head free of his thoughts as they entered the little meadow in their territory not sheltered by trees. Wide open areas like this made Shadowpelt a bit nervous because they were so exposed. But he was anxious for another reason as well, his apprentice. Honeypaw was his first ever apprentice and he wanted to do a good job training her. He was trying his best but was afraid that his standoff-ish nature was getting in the way of his ability to properly train her. He'd hoped to ask one of the other warriors on patrol today but so far he'd been worried about voicing his concern.

mothpaw
he listened to her speak, quiet voice laced with a touch of disappointment. if she hasn’t seen him, why hasn’t she looked for him? no use in whining. the tom shook his head to himself - no need to be so mean. his green eyes trailed over the female, brow lifting slightly as he spoke again.
“we’ll get some breakfast. i can train with you for today, i’ll tell my mentor afterwards. shadowpelt won’t mind.” the tom paused, dipping his head slightly. that’d be allowed, right? mothpaw was slightly younger than honeypaw, but he felt as though that didn’t mean anything. besides, from the sounds of it he’d been training more actively anyway.
“come on,” he added, surprisingly gently. “breakfast.”

honeypaw perked her ears slightly, and began to follow the tom cat. "I'm guessing Shadowpelts on a patrol. too bad he didnt bring me along. but it might be for the best. I'm probably the least experienced of the apprentices" honeypaw said with a pang of anger in her voice. "it's not that I don't try to train or work my tail off. I jus-" she paused, realizing she probably had begun to make a fool of herself in front of the tom. her cheeks got warm and she nervously laughed before saying "sorry for talking your ear off." sure. mothpaw was younger than her, and sometimes had a temper. but he couldnt be all bad. she had noticed the tone change as he spoke. she felt like she could gain a friend out of him. she flicked her tail and brushed the thoughts away, 'hes just being polite.' she thought as she padded behind him. honeypaw glanced at him for a moment. she felt tiny compared to him. 'maybe if I got a little bigger I'd seem less like a kit.'
