for moons, a clan of cats ruled the mountainous ranges. generations, born strong and proud have come and passed. thornclan once ruled the forest, held together by the forces of their starry ancestors above. the cats of thornclan, fated together in starclan's light and their decisions spoken through the clan's star teller, families were woven. this had been the way of life for moons and they were at peace in their forest home surrounded by the mountains.. safe.

when corianderstar received her mate from starclan, the beautiful raggedthorn, the cats of thornclan rejoiced. together, the two would surely lead their clan further into greatness: no such thing happened. no cat is really certain what transpired between the two she-cats, but thornclan is no more. now, after the cats split up into two different clans, summitclan, filled with cats who still practice the old ways of matchmaking and the newly formed groveclan, the cats who have gone back to the old warrior's way of life. tensions are high, families have been broken, and the fate of the clans is uncertain as ever.

𝐒𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆

the two clans have made home along a valley in between two mountains, one larger mountain to the south and one smaller mountain to the north. groveclan has made their territory in the lush overgrown valley between the mountains while summitclan is on the northern mountain planes. a river at the forests edge and the mountains plains separate the two clans, this is the only boarder they share. along the river between the clans there is a large willow tree that grows sideways across the thinnest part of the river, this is where the cats meet for their clan meetings every quarter moon. they know little beyond their home. over the tall and rocky southern mountain lies the crystal caverns and an underground river where the medicine cats and star tellers travel to speak with starclan personally.

groveclan
─ groveclan is in the thicket of the valley, vastly over grown foliage and trees, it radiates greenery and the sky is rarely seen when in the forest parts. the clan's camp is in the deepest part, farthest from the summitclan boarder which lies along a riverbank that separates the two clans. the camp is fortified by bramble pushes and ivy vines which hang down from the trees and had been paw woven into the camp's walls. their dens consist of shallowly dug holes and bushes that allude to larger dens, as well as hollowed out trees. for a groveclan cat, strength is their greatest ally, to push through the thick underbrush and over power their prey, a strong climbing ability is also a rather common trait of a grove cat.
prey: fish, small rodents (mice, muskrats, shrews, squirrels, etc.), small birds (robins, finch, wood peckers, etc.)
predators: cougars, foxes, badgers, beavers

summitclan
─ summitclan is not as it's name perceives, they are on the smaller of the two mountains, it is much flatter and more open the valley below it contains a lot of grassy plains and flower fields, a serenely rocky glade. though there are some small wooded areas, they are few and far between. the clan has set up their camp on the largest plain outcrop of the mountain with dens dug into the soft earthy face of the mountain and a few hollowed out logs. protected mainly by rocks and the tall coarse grasses, it is a rather open camp otherwise. on the plains of the mountain, balance and agility is key, a cat must be able to climb easily up steep slopes and jagged rocky outcrops. to survive, a summitclan cat must be quicker then it's prey, which are some of the fastest animals in the territory unfortunately.
prey: large rodents (rabbits/hare, ground hogs, prairie dogs, etc.), small rodents, fish, medium sized birds (hawks, crows, quail, grouse, etc.), small birds
predators: cougars, eagles, coyotes, snakes
