As Lu slowly regained consciousness she could immediately feel something was wrong. Her eyes instinctively popped open and she jumped to her feet. She was already scanning everything around her every tree, every rock, and every direction. Lu could feel her uneasiness crawling up her spine. She was ready for something to attack, for something to go wrong, but nothing happened. It took her a few seconds of silent staring before she started to register what it was she was actually looking at. It was clearly a forest, but one she had never seen before. There was an eerily lit cobblestone path to her right, made even more creepy by the lazy fog drifting through the air. Of course, Lu had seen much worse than a creepy forest in her life, it wasn’t the main cause of her uneasiness. The first thing she noticed caused her to loosen her guard turning her face from alert and serious to worried. Ciel was no where to be found. She couldn’t sense him anywhere, let alone pick up on his scent. In fact, not a single one of her comrades was around. Lu wasn’t the kind of demon who was easily shaken up but upon realizing she was completely alone, without even Ciel at her side, her worry only grew stronger.
“C-Ciel?” she muttered uncertainly. Lu barely managed to stop her voice from cracking as her situation dawned on her. Her missing friends were not her only problem. The link she could usually feel to the demon realm had been completely severed. Her summoning powers were useless, she could already feel it. She was stranded in this unfamiliar forest with the cold fog and no one there to help. It was almost like the situation she was in when she was betrayed and forced to flee the demon realm. She was left powerless, alone, and scared.
“Scared?” she whispered to herself. She looked down at the gauntlet on her hand staring at it and all the memories it held. Lu huffed and clenched her fist as tightly as she could. She started to grin and even chuckled a little
“Hmph, how foolish, I am the queen of terror itself...When I find Ciel I’ll just be sure to give him an earful.” Despite the concern still rising inside her, Lu found herself walking towards the cobblestone road. The thoughts of Ciel’s amazing cookies and flustered face brought her more joy than the thoughts of her old past could take. After all, Lu would be able to guilt trip him into doing anything after a situation like this. Her grin grew until a giddy smile, she started to skip and jump down the path, completely forgetting her surroundings. The little demon was simply skipping and chuckling, the occasional
”Cooookies, Cookies,” ringing out in a singsong voice as she went. In fact her childlike singing and humming, combined with her giggling made her seem like a creepy child in the woods.
