carmen cabrera

carmen was so caught up in her own frustration, she didn't even notice that the girl had began to advance towards her. she couldn't help her eyes widening, and then squinting as she made sure she knew what was happening. what was the motive behind this? as the girl approached her, the feeling that carmen got when she looked at her only became stronger, seeming to crawl underneath her skin and seat itself in her chest. why is she coming over here? carmen thought, almost panicked. did i stare too much? is she going to confront me? with a humph, carmen decided that if the girl were to confront her, she'd fight fire with fire. after all, she'd stared back. it was a mutual, awkward staring contest. for a second carmen toyed with the notion that the girl got the same feeling she did. but she pushed that down immediately. she was most likely going to tell carmen off, for not acting in awe and grateful for this ball.
however... when she did approach carmen, all she did was ask about last night's stunt. this made carmen frown. casual conversation? doesn't she know i'm a servant? dumb, inconsistent royals. the feeling in her chest tightened. was that her only motive? to small talk carmen until she collapsed from confusion and anger? she noticed that she seemed nervous, though. almost as if carmen intimidated her. not very royal at all. "...yeah." she said reluctantly, her body loosening as she moved her head forward. "that was stupid. i know we're supposed to be, like, toys to you guys, but still... very stupid. of course something would be pulled like that, right before the ball. i know you lot can't stand when we have to share." with a selfish pang, she hoped the girl noticed the malice in her voice. she didn't know why she was being mean when she was sure the girl had nothing to do with the prank. an innocent bystander. no royals are innocent, her brain chanted, and she attempted to regain her composure. regardless of how her chest tightened every time they got closer, she was just a royal. nothing special.

ARCHER . BEAUMONT
20 | ROYAL | LOCATION; His room/ballroom| FEELING; Mischevious| TAGGED; Liam|
Archer smiled as Liam gave Jack the attention he wanted. The royal like, to an extent, anyone
who liked animals, he liked to. He couldn't trust anyone who Jack liked though, because the
large dog was too loving, and Archer, was not. The smaller man shifted his straight back stance,
not knowing exactly what to say to Liam. He felt a pang of regret regarding Liam loosing his job,
he could have stood up to his father, but of course that is something he rarely did. He listened
to Liam intently, genuinely wanting to know how he had been, something certainly rare by
Archer's standards. When the other told him about his mother, he shot the other a sympathetic
look. He had lost his own mother when he was younger, something which had left a hole in his
life, he had never been given the opportunity to grieve properly. His father had just forced him,
as the eldest, to get on with it. Archer presumed that his mother's death was one of the few
contributing factors to his hard exterior.
"I am sorry to hear that, truly." He replied slowly, genuinely sympathetic. Archer wasn't really
the most emotional man, so he quickly changed the tone, commenting on the latter part of
Liam's sentence. "Coffee, eh. Healthier than my drinks of choice, I'll give you that." Archie
laughed drily.
"Me?" Archer sighed. "The usual really, taking care of everyone back at home, training and of
course making the most of my little free time having a bit of fun ha." He smirked before carrying
on. "Don't you know it.The best parties are the more low-key ones, cheap alcohol and a fun
time. This one though, going to be on more the boring side I should say. Hopefully it livens
up somehow." Archer winked, he knew he was notorious for his partying behaviours, but it
had got to that strange that he no longer cared. Archer knew he was potentially digging
himself into an early grave, his father was, a tough ruler, but he was good at it. Archie
knew that he would never be half the ruler his father was.
"I don't think there'll be any coffee at this ball." He laughed out slightly. "I am in desperate
need of another drink, can I get you one?" Archer asked, looking around to spot the nearest
waiter with a tray of drinks.

he nodded his head in thanks about his mother and gave him a warm smile. a warm chuckle soon escaped his lips as he listened to what the other was saying. he remembered how hard archer trained during his time with the family. he was a very skilled man, even if he may not see it. many men during practice sessions would fall to the royal; it impressed and also warned liam. if liam happened to get on his bad side for any reason, it may be bad for the servant. he isn't the strongest of people. yes he may look intimidating with his height, but he's a gentle and caring individual which some take advantage of.
liam enjoyed the more casual conversation that he is having with archer. the royal seemed nonchalant and unwilling to speak, but it seems as if the two had warmed up and was back to when he served the other. giving out a laugh, he shook his head, "i do agree with you on that. if i want any coffee, i'll have to go downstairs and brew up a fresh pot." he smiled, gazing around the room again, before turning back to archer. a drink? are the roles reversed? he was a little shocked but didn't show it on his face. usually, he would be asking a royal if he could get them another drink. deciding to actually take advantage of this situation, liam nodded. "sure, why not? and if any of this stuff doesn't fit your needs, i could always take you to where we keep the better alcohol." liam said, giving a wink and chuckling afterwords.

xxxxxher hand fit in his, the space he'd purposely left inbetween them broken by their movement. he hated the girl, despised her, would've done anything to get away from her just a few weeks ago, but he didn't want to walk away now, waves of indifference washing over him. he pulled her through the crowd, which parted in their wake, allowing a space big enough for just the two of them. huh, like a fairytale, euphoria swam around them, the lights in the castle brighter than he remembered they ever could be.
yet, he didn't know how to dance. never had learned because he'd never felt the need to go to one. lars was more of the get stupid drunk type partier.
lars let her curtsy, gaze still locked onto hers. she was pretty in a way he'd never noticed before, maybe simply because she disregarded his retort. whatever, it didn't matter to him anymore. the crowd swayed in rhythm, he caught her hand and lifted it to meet his lips in a quick kiss, cocking an eyebrow in query, challenging a reaction from the princess, along with an impish and toothy grin that spread across his face. he wanted to fall through the ground, knowing he'd wake up the next morning and it'd all have been a dream, or some facade his mind had worn, knowing it was too good to be true.
but when he let his gaze wander through the waltzing figures, he found the girl's hand still within his, still standing directly in front of him.
'it's kind of funny we're here now,' so she saw it too. like some big guy way up in the clouds had lazily pushed the two together and sighed, leaning back and internally patting himself on the back while he praised his work with an 'excellent,' while he pretended their argument had never even occured. 'isn't it?'
"you think?" he replied, though his tone was benevolent over anything. "you look really good, by the way."

who? lars what? nostalgic, enchanted where? ballroom

the kiss on her hand genuinely made her heart flutter, and for once in her life catherine was genuinely speechless. stunned to silence, unable to do anything else but stare for a moment. and in a moment of clarity she realizes how close they are to each other, her eyes falling to his lips. his smile almost made her scoff - almost. instead she smiled back, teasingly whilst rolling her eyes. lars was so...
"you look really good by the way," catherine smiles again, under normal circumstances a compliment would've gotten barely that, maybe a half-smile depending on who it was from, but his words made her heart leap - an unusual feeling.
"thank you," she says, eyeing him up and down. "so do you," she tried her best to sound cool, collected, not like a stuttering young girl confessing her crush on the neighboring child. she suspects the sweetness in her tone may reveal otherwise, though.
they're there for a moment more, a breath between seconds and then they are whisked off into the dance, catherine's feet confident in every step they take. her gaze never wavers from lars', and it was like the room emptied, there was nothing else besides the two of them, dancing, and how she loathed to admit it, but it felt right. finally, like something had clicked into place.
"is it just me?" cath asks, not necessarily expecting an answer.

ARCHER . BEAUMONT
20 | ROYAL | LOCATION; His room/ballroom| FEELING; Mischevious| TAGGED; Liam|
Archer laughed slightly picturing Liam disappearing momentarily to go and have a coffee.
"That's a pro of knowing where everything is at least." He added, spotting a waiter who
was coming in their direction. He smirked at Liam's comment regarding getting alcohol
else where if he was not satisfied with the current selection. The wink was what caught
him off guard, he was sure the other was just being friendly, but still, he couldn't put
that small action out of his mind.
Archie pretty much cornered the poor young waiter, selecting two glasses off the tray,
champagne, all the drinks here were "fancy", which was expected, but the royal wasn't
going to complain. He handed Liam a glass, making sure he didn't spill any of it over the
other man. Archie took a sip before asking "What else is in store tonight?" He began,
taking another sip of his champagne as he carried on. "I'm not going to lie and pretend
I looked at the events itinerary." He scoffed slightly, his eyes going from royal to royal,
nosily wondering what they were all talking about.

( ♕ )xx❝ASHER DONAHUE!!

indentasher looked down at the girl in front of him, his blue eyes narrowed at her accusation that he should be attending the ball with princess lilith. asher took in a deep breath, inhaling sharply through his nose before he continued in a sharp, but quiet, tone, "look. where princess lilith is is none of your business. what kind of servant do you think you are, anyways?" he growled. okay, usually, asher was all for the fair treatment of servants. but when one was talking back to you and getting under your skin and hitting all the right nerves?
indenthe could make an exception.
indent"what, found out your soulmate was a prince and now you're feeling all high and mighty, huh?" he chuckled cruley, a mocking tone slipping into his voice. he bent closer to jules, a sweet floral scent on his breath as he hissed, "why don't you tell prince charming that i'll take his kingdom down like that," asher snapped on the word 'that', refusing to back away from the blonde female. however, she didn't seem to be backing away either. fine, if this was how it was going to be, then so be it. he wasn't about to lose to a damn maid.

J U L I A N E - B A R N E S
mood. flustered | location. ballroom| tags. asher
juliane stared up at the prince blankly. for the first time in a long time jules found herself at a loss for words. most of the time she was quick to bite back and wouldn't leave an argument without being on top, but in this moment, all she could do was stare up into his eyes. she swallowed slightly, but hardly moved a muscle as he came closer towards her. she wanted to retort about not having found her soulmate yet, but couldn't find the words to express it and just looking around confused.
"what, do you just enjoy this? being an ass?" she said, in an attempt to seem unbothered but really her voice cracked and she bit the inside of her cheek. she didn't know what to do, yell, slap him, walk away. anything she did would draw attention to themselves and the last thing she wanted to do was to accidentally go off on a prince in front of her soulmate. after all, he could be anywhere. soulmate, ashers voice rung in her head.
