She made a smile to Foxcloud her eyes looking at Silvershine "so Silvershine, do you have any ideas who to take or....could we go just five of us?" she meowed to the silver warrior "anyway I don't see it an as good thing to separate the apprentices to their mentors" she told her, with a sigh.

He was waiting for Havenspring, when the deputy decided to make his call of the patrols, blinking his eyes he looked at the two she-cats there with his friend Redwing and noticed the disappointed look form Windchaser "so you do like border patrols more than hunting?" he meowed to the tom who was coming the same patrol with him.

He flattered his ears when the Emberblaze kind of ignored his question but did respond to Dogface who asked the tom after him. Sighing he looked at Rosepaw who approved him "It's fine..." he meowed silently "no we're not going for a patrol...instead we're going out for ourselves" he meowed to the younger tom. He blamed himself for the loneliness he was making his apprentice going to, he was mostly training him alone when not many warriors wanted to train together with him and his sister was queen, so he could not ask for help her either.

She was eating at the fresh-kill pile, her green eyes scanning the clearing, smiling as she saw her brother getting to talk with the Emberblaze 'good job bro, get closer to your clanmates' she thought herself. Swallowing her bite, before licking her lips and enjoyed the warm sunlight which touched her ginger fur, making her feel warm. She closed her eyes for a moment when feeling a kick on her stomach 'i see you like this as well, my little ones' she keep thinking.

There didn't seem to be any apprentices jumping to volunteer to join the patrol. Any she caught sight of seemed to be preoccupied by their mentor. "That's a good point," she meowed in acknowledgment to Redwing and Foxcloud. She certainly didn't want to overstep her boundaries and steal an apprentice from their mentor. And she also hated when that happened to her as an apprentice. "We'll just go as the five of us," she decided. That was plenty for a hunting patrol when prey was so plentiful anyway. She began to lead the way from the camp and into the forest. She was headed for one of her favourite spots; near the river that ran along their border. She loved the sound of the running water in the distance. She found it very peaceful. On top of that the area served as a great hunting spot and she never had to worry about her prey darting across the border since most wouldn't jump into the river. She broke out of her thoughts and glanced back to see if the others were following her.

Rosepaw glanced over as Emberblaze offered the two of them to come along on patrol, giving him a sympathetic look for simply making a mistake. He then quickly perked his ears up, now buzzing with excitement at the thought of climbing a tree, "No, I haven't yet! Clawfrost can we pleaseee go on patrol?" The apprentice looked at his mentor eagerly, his paws fidgeting slightly from his excitement.

as peachpaw dug into his late breakfast, he shook his head in response to flarepaw's question. "being a medicine cat is much more than sorting herbs, y'know." inwardly, though, he admitted that the molly had a point. he had grown bored of staying cooped up in the medicine den. the little tom wished that brightnoise's visit to the nursery wouldn't take much longer - he was anticipating their herb trip into the territory. swallowing the last bits of his prey, he picked halfheartedly at the bones as he spied icepaw's longing glance. he attempted to say some comforting words to the kind apprentice, but the words fell off his tongue. he sat, puzzled, quiet as rushwing approached. dipping his head respectfully, he let his friends chatter with the deputy as he buried the remnants of his meal. swiping a paw across his face, he patiently waited for his mentor to make her reappearance.

locustfoot shrugged in response to dawnglow's question just as joykit's voice came into radius. as poppywing heaved herself from the den's slim entrance, she faintly nodded her greeting. "seems like your daughter found us," she mewed bemusedly before standing to her paws. "and with that, good luck with your day." the molly stumbled as joykit ran past her feet, then glanced at brightnoise with an exasperated frown. why had the little kit pulled their medicine cat away from her duties? locustfoot eased her way from the nursery, not too concerned. joykit would always do what she wanted. trotting toward the middle of camp to join her least favorite part of the day, she let out a huff and sat down near brokenhope, who appeared as bored as herself.

Dawnglow pricked her ears as Joykit padded in, followed by Brightnoise. Curling her tail around her kit, she smiled up at the medicine cat. “Good morning,” she replied, sitting up. “I’m doing well. A bit tired lately, but otherwise fine,” she said, wondering why Joykit was with her. “I hope my little one wasn’t bothering you,” the queen said with a questioning glance at her daughter.

Joykit glowed as Brightnoise spoke to her mother. She let Dawnglow sweep her tail around her, comforting the kit with the familiar scent and warmth. Narrowing her eyes against her mother’s stare, the kit sat up as importantly as she could muster. Her? Bothering? Never! She looked up at Brightnoise hopefully. Surely the medicine cat would defend such a mature kit.

“That’s true,” the molly purred, thinking of her warm, full belly. “It’s wonderful that we’re filling out again, especially with so many kits on the way.” Skylark’s whiskers twitched as a thought came to her. “You know,” she said, turning to flick a stray leaf off of her back, “Joykit is going to be apprenticed soon. I wonder who her mentor will be?” Letting out a hiss of frustration, the elder abandoned the leaf and turned back to Cownose. “Would you want an apprentice? I know you’re young,” Skylark added, “but you’re an excellent warrior, in my opinion.” She flicked his ear with her tail. “And you know I’m always right,” the molly teased.

Wanda looked up quickly, surprised by his praise. She really had misjudged him. “Thanks,” she said, shyly pawing at the ground. “I’m sure any cat could do it.” Purring, the young molly nudged Aspen playfully. “I’m just glad I caught it,” she said, twitching her whiskers with amusement. “Imagine if I’d missed it after all that!”

the tom noticed the molly hesitate slightly towards him, he tilted his head softly “no, no reason in particular. i’d rather speak to you before my brother.” he flicked his tail towards the brown furred warrior across the camp clearing. ravencall stood a bit taller, his yellow eyes soft as he looked over the molly though he didn’t let his eyes linger long before turning and watching rushwing assign patrols. surprised his brother was picked to lead a boarder patrol, he just hoped he wouldn’t start any trouble. he turned back to the warrior and her apprentice. “since you two weren’t picked for patrol do you plan on doing training?”

the warrior purred lightly at brackenpaw’s enthusiasm, her ears flicked back lightly as he mentioned her small size. though she knew she’d give him an agile target to be practiced on and it would give him an advantage as well as for hunting small prey, she was happy to provide assistance. “just for that i won’t make it easy on you either!” she meowed playfully to the paw. the molly’s wide gaze turned back to maplefoot for her approval of the activities.

"fair enough emberblaze. i'll be taking the northern boarder, how about you take the southern?"

"care to join me for boarder patrol?"

the pure white molly rolled herself out of her nest, her tummy touched the floor as she stretched out. she let out a soft grunt followed by a purr. she looked about the hazily sunlit den, her body felt warm but her legs screamed as they needed to be worked. she felt so heavy and had the strangest dream, her blue eyes turned towards dawnglow who was enjoying a mouse but didn't seem to have joykit near her.

she turned her gaze towards the den entrance, she flicked her tail out behind her softly as she began to move, she pushed her way out and was met with the light brown striped pelt of doveheart. paleflame trotted up the basking molly and let out a little murrow of amusement. "good morning doveheart, enjoying the sunshine i see", she stopped beside her and curled herself into a sit. her tail resting over her paws, her gaze was gentle but bright as she looked at the queen, and like dawnglow her kit was not with her. she wondered where they had scampered off too, making her look to her own full belly; she remembered she'd have to visit brightnose and get a check up. the white queen had felt like she'd been pregnant forever and something was nagging at her.
