In search of food he scented Flamerunner before he had saw him, he nodded to the warrior in acknowledgement before he continued on. He sighed as the only thing he hadn't liked so far was that they didn't know where to catch food everyday it was a guess but so was when they lived in their home before, it was gamble if they would end up with fresh-kill to bring back or not. He was ready to more well fed than they have been, the farther they went from the old home of Sierraclan it seemed that the better things had gotten for them. As he soon was able to find another bird, followed by a two mice. It wasn't much but if everyone hunted and all caught one or two things each they all would eat fairly decent.

Spottedpaw had been still asleep contently, finding out that traveling had been fun but made her exhausted. It only had been a single moon though, in time her body would adjust and it already had as her paws weren't as sore as when they first started. But leaf-bare was here and that easily meant they would dealing with snow, she already had saw it in the mountain before they had headed through it. She wondered if they ever were going to make it through the mountains.
The last moon had been mostly good to her, despite her father's best efforts, she had maintained a good relationship with Cloudfoot. She was giving the tom the benefit of the doubt, she knew after their argument he was just staying behind orders of their leader and she respected that. Though she also wished he would of stood up for the rest of the clan as well, that way there wouldn't had been as many unnecessary deaths whether young or old, hunger had found them both.
The she-cat groaned some as she felt the sun and curled against Tinymask some to hide her face into his pelt. She enjoyed having him around, it was like he was still an apprentice like her even though he wasn't.

Snowpetal was curled into the other warriors as they all tried to get the best sleep they could considering the circumstances. She was slowly getting use to the sun awaking them head on as they didn't have something every night to protect them. Traveling felt good but also sad as the old territory meant so much grief for her. Though anytime she saw Pinepaw, she felt like Mistykit should be there too as the kit was almost an apprentice at five moons when she had passed. She felt like a terrible mother for allowing it to happen even though it had been several moons since by now.
The she-cat sighed as she had slowly uncurled herself and sat up while she watched some of her clan mates wonder off separately from one another. She frowned, she felt like they should be working together still. But also nobody had seemed to want to talk to Cloudfoot except for a few cats and he normally organized the patrols.

Cloudfoot let out a sigh as the sun climbed higher into the sky, figuring he should return to the Clan. He rose to stand, taking once last glance at the mountain peaks in the distance before turning around and padding back to where the Clan was gathered. Along the way, his ears perked upwards when he caught sight of Blizzardclaw hunting. The deputy stared at him for a while, observing the warrior use the same hunting techniques he had taught him all those moons ago. A rush of nostalgia flushed through Cloudfoot. He would love nothing more than to be a mentor again, but with so little kits and him already having mentored three apprentices in his lifetime, Cloudfoot knew he would likely never receive an apprentice again.

The deputy watched as Blizzardclaw caught a decent-sized mouse. While it wasn't exactly plump, the prey they had been finding lately was the best in moons. Cloudfoot, with determination rushing through him, decided to approach the warrior on a whim. It was the first opportunity in weeks that he could try and talk to him with Blizzardclaw being alone and not doing much. "Nice catch," Cloudfoot commented, trying to smooth into the conversation.

Pinepaw's blue gaze slowly opened as the bright sunshine shone on his face. He lifted his upper body, taking in his surroundings. Some of his Clanmates were asleep while the others were either awake in the gathering or out at the moment. He caught sight of Spottedpaw sleeping next to Tinymask. While he wanted to snuggle close to her for comfort, he knew she would rather be next to Tinymask and left her alone. Blinking with dismay, the apprentice rose to his paws and sat up, blinking away the grogginess from his eyes. He groaned to himself as he tried to shake the pain and sleep from his legs. It wasn't fun sleeping on cold rock. Pinepaw looked around for his mother, spotting her talking to Snowpetal in the distance. He let out a sigh and sat back down, deciding to groom himself while he had the time.

The apprentice was already awake and seemed to be looking around the area as if searching for something. While he knows there most likely won't be any, He just can't help but look for traps as he'd started to have nightmares of when his leg had been caught in one and he didn't want any of his clanmates to lose a like he had. He had been lucky that it had been his deformed leg that had been caught and he could only imagine what it would feel like to have a fully functional leg caught in one.

While he was hunting he could feel like he was being watched but attempted to ignore it, he was sure that it was just one of the other warriors or perhaps he was just paranoid. Though when he could scent who it was, he grew immediately annoyed as he didn't see a reason why Cloudfoot needed to even talk to him. They were living separate lives and that's how he planned on keeping it. He may not be entirely mad at him anymore over their argument a moon ago, he still didn't enjoy being around the deputy.
When hearing the comment on his catch Blizzardclaw just nodded his head once as he buried his catch next to his other ones. "Uh huh," he sighed, not at all enthused by the others presence. The tom quickly turned as he focused on hunting rather than trying to have a conversation with his former mentor.

With the sun coming out more, it hit Spottedpaw's body and slowly catching up to her face. Despite the fact it had been laying into Tinymask's pelt she slowly was woken up and sighed. She had been getting nice sleep during their travels though but she couldn't help but be annoyed for being awaken no matter what. The she-cat slowly took a glance around and noticed Pinepaw alone and frowned, waving her tail for him to come join them.
She had taken to the young tom as her friend quite a lot, he wasn't the same as Acornpaw but she still valued his friendship. The two had been grieving over her death together, they both missed her a lot. She was sure that Pinepaw missed her more as they usually together especially during the moons she had already an apprentice and they were still in the nursery.

Cloudfoot hesitated for a moment before saying, "Alright, you already know why I'm here so I'll just say what I have to say." He inhaled and exhaled slowly, mentally preparing himself for any lash-outs from the warrior but given his movements the deputy assumed he would attempt to ignore him.

"Our conflict is stupid and you know it," he began sternly, "And in this trying time I'm ready to end it. I'm going to tell you what's wrong with this scuffle and you're going to listen." The deputy gulped the lump that had formed in his throat and began to talk about Spottedpaw, "After you left camp, Spottedpaw and I ended up talking to each other. You know, she has been mad at me for the majority of her life but after I told her my side of the story she came around and opened up to me. She wanted to see the other side of the story. She even asked me questions about my relationship with Bluestream... Spottedpaw gave me a chance."

Cloudfoot's eyes grew hard as anger welled up inside him, "But you? You're not even willing to see my side of this pathetic rivalry. That's the problem you have. You have no empathy. You don't see the other side. If you truly want to become a leader someday, knowing all sides of conflicts is key to becoming a fair leader. You're no leader if you make decisions based on your own personal bias, and for that reason I'll tell you what's been going on since you decided I wasn't worth it anymore."

"It's not easy being me right now, Blizzardclaw," he hissed, "Almost everyone, including yourself, hates me and Littlestar because we "took this many deaths to leave." But you know what? I never meant for all those cats to die. None of them deserved to die, but you all go ahead and treat us like we're murderers because you all fail to realize that no leader or deputy has lived and lead a Clan through such an uncertain and dire time. Neither of us know what to do, but we are both trying our best. We are both imperfect beings and we can only do so much with only the prophecy cats' guidance on where to go. We were originally going to leave during new-leaf, but instead we decided one moon ago was the better time so more cats wouldn't succumb to this famine. We listened to all of you and yet you still treat us like outcasts."

He paused for a moment, digging his claws into the snow beneath him as he fought off his emotions, "Being a leader is hard, and because of ignorant fools like you I've lost everything. My dignity. My reputation. Everything, but most of all, I lost the last of my family. I lost the cat that I could call my brother. You've ruined me, and now I have nothing left to lose but my life." Cloudfoot chuckled sadly as tears brimmed his eyes, "You know, Spottedpaw really takes after you. If she were my apprentice I'd heavily consider making her a warrior early just like I did with you. She demonstrates a maturity not many apprentices have and I appreciate her for it..." He shuffled his paws awkwardly as he tried to shake his emotions away, "All I'm trying to say is that I'm willing to reconcile with you. I have always been proud of you." He thought back to what Littlestar said about mentoring Blizzardclaw and muttered, "I've taught you well."

Cloudfoot began to turn away, his speech having taxed him of his energy. A sad smile was plastered on his face, masking the terrible pain he was feeling inside, "It's your life though. I don't control it, but perhaps when you take my words into consideration we'll be able to settle our differences and heal some old wounds." With a final nod of his head, the deputy walked away and headed back to the Clan, feeling ten times lighter from the relief he was feeling. However, the stress of finally facing Blizzardclaw had made Cloudfoot dizzy and a little light-headed. Head hurting, he tried to keep himself from falling and leaned against a wall of rock when he finally arrived back with the Clan, trying to find relief.

Blizzardclaw had chosen to ignore him, choosing not to reply back but he listened. He kept his back turned to the other as he didn't want to deal with being stared at. When hearing that Spottedpaw ask Cloudfoot about Bluestream, he dug his nails into the ground slightly as he shook his head. He had remembered how the three of them use to be all friends and go out contently on patrols together, all the memories hit him nearly all at once. It hurt to think about how things use to be, he always tried to live in the present because of the loss of Bluestream however the only thing he couldn't give up on was Cloudfoot. He was still unhappy.
While the deputy had continued on, he listened in silence though his ears had perked slightly from hearing nearby prey. He ignored the prey for now which was hard for him to do, he felt maybe that Cloudfoot was right. This did need to end, they all were about to start a new life in their new territory whenever they get there but old habits would be dying fast. He clenched his jaw to refuse to say anything back though he wanted to give a piece of his mind to Cloudfoot, he was almost outcasted by the clan so he knew what that felt like.
Of course when he brought up how they use to call each other brother, his eyes did grow a bit sad and he glanced at his paws. He was a strong cat, he didn't like anyone seeing him upset and he had to be that especially for his kits after his mate had died. He was already a strong cat mentally but that made him even have to be a stronger cat for them. He blinked once and slowly had turned his head to him as he listened. He took a deep sigh and looks at his paws once before finally opening his mouth, for once not to say anything negative. "You should tell Littlestar that Spottedpaw deserves to become a warrior sooner rather than later," he sighed out and shakes his head before choosing not to say anything else to the deputy. He contently watched Cloudfoot leave before he went to continue hunting.
