It wasn't long before she found her mouse once more, and sighed heavily as she trotted back to camp. She wondered how Tinyseal and his two kits were doing. It was leafbare, and with kits so young it wouldn't be a stretch for them to get sick. Servalnose vividly remembered her first leafbare back home and the first leafbare here. Both were vividly different but had many similarities. The slender feline shook her head, and she made her way back to camp. A low rumbling purr sounding in her chest, much like it always did.

She glanced around, pausing as she came to realize there were so few cats around. Bearstar and I will probably just have to be the hunting patrol, while we run around. Lupinedusk mentally sighed and shook her head. Her gaze once again found Willowdusk, seeing the she-cat seemed to flounder. Holding back a groan, the feline padded back over to the she-cat and spoke. "Why don't you grab Tanglepaw, Sootleaf, and Softheart and get going on that border patrol." Her tone was civil, though there was a flicker of irritation that flashed in her eyes for a heart-beat. Not waiting for an answer the solid she-cat turned around and padded back to Bearstar. "Well I'm ready now, let get going." She said with a soft smile. Despite her outward appearance, she felt a little guilty about how she'd just interacted with Willowdusk. Lupinedusk beat back those feelings, Willowdusk will either do as i asked, or get other cats. Or continue to flounder and not get anything done. She glanced over at Rosepaw and Softheart, she'd have to touch bases with the apprentice later.

The molly let out a sigh of relief as the deputy reassured her, bringing out a purr from her chest. She trusted Silvertail and looked up to him so his reassurance meant the world to her. Just as she was about to speak she too suddenly smelt an unfamiliar scent. It was hard to detect due to the cold snow but there was someone nearby that was not a Summitclan cat. She turned to look at the two toms and could tell that Silvertail could smell the stranger as well.
Badgerbloom looked around the clearing, her eyes scanning the ground and tree trucks surrounding them. "Do you smell that?" She whispered to stagleap, though her whisper was a bit louder than she intended. She didn't even think to look up in the trees, her gaze remaining ground level as she sniffed the air, her ears flickering despite their inability to hear any approaching threat. She then turned to look at the two toms but they didnt seem to be paying her attetion, sniffing the air and heading a bit further down the path. Badgerbloom watched them go and felt a lump in her throat, wishing she could hear them as they talked. -She decided she would do a bit of hunting, or at least try to, as they searched for the previous scent so she turned from where she was and headed deeper into the snowy undergrowth.

Cindercloud's ears flickered as she listened to the tiny voices of the kits talk about her scent. At first, she had decided to ignore them, simply paying attention to their mother. "Sleeping a lot?" She repeated, putting her focus on the queen for now. "That could be a good sign. As long as they are continuing to eat the sleeping should just mean they are growing." The large cat continued to talk to the queen for a few minutes more, all the while trying to ignore the insults thrown at her. After a while, though it grew old and she sent a glare in their direction. "They seem healthy enough to me, They are probably old enough to know that getting on the wrong side of a medicine cat will get them eaten or turned into nest liners though." She meowed, making sure to make eye contact with them for emphasis. She had held her tongue long enough, it wasn't her fault she smelt so strongly of herbs, she slept in a den filled with them after all. She then shifted to stand over the kits, her eyes observing them for any physical deformities or oddities. "Ever wonder how Bearstar and I got so big? Kits who don't listen to their mothers or run their maws make tasty treats."

Though as she stood there she realized he had mentioned not one but two clans. If he was a Summitclan cat why was he in this territory? She hesitated for a moment before deciding to give a chance. The deputy branched off from Crabfur and made a bee-line for her leader's den. The thick-furred molly was rather caught off guard to find it abandoned and stale. "Has anyone seen Reedstar? It's rather urgent." she called out, sweeping her amber gaze across the cats scattered around the sandy clearing. Cedarshine growled in frustration and sat down, wanting to wait until he returned. She promptly found herself watching Bunnytuft, Goosemask, and Tinyseal converse. Seeing the tom sent a wave of familiarity and peace over her, but then the bitter reminder that one of the newest additions had fallen ill just dampened her mood further. She hunched down to pick at one of her squirrels, glancing up every few seconds to search for the russet tom.

They'll both learn. before the thickly built leader could intervene an outburst from Cindercloud sent his head-turning. She was scolding them no doubt, but hearing his name made his eyes roll back to the canopies above. kit-eater. Pfft. Needing to distance himself from the she-cat commotion he trotted over to the kits and purred apologetically, "Come on Cindercloud- no need to be so terrifying." he swept his limited gaze to look over the kits, a small chuckle erupting from his grizzled maw, "Besides- I only ate three kits when I was an apprentice, far less than you, I'm sure." Bearstar feigned his humbleness, his nonchalant day making for the perfect grounds for angering the grumpy old molly further.

Badgerbloom moved through the underbrush in what she thought was a quiet manner, however the snow on the growned made her pawsteps much louder than she thought. Creatures scurried away from the deaf molly before she could so much as see or scent them. Despite this she continued to try, changing up her tactics as she decided to sit and wait for something to come to her. "Come on now... I have to b-bring sometthing back.." She mumbled to herself, her tail swishing behind her as she hunkered down in the snow. Badgerbloom did not want to admit that she would likely never be as good a hunter as she once had been. Without being able to hear herself she simply made too much noise.

The ruddy tom followed behind Cedarshine as they returned to camp. In his maw he held a mole he had managed to catch during their hunt. It was the only catch he had made, but it was something to fill their bellies. Rather than follow after the deputy he sat his catch down ad let his eyes scan the camp, searching for someone..or perhaps just looking. Either way, it seemed he failed to spot what he had been looking for and he headed towards the fresh-kill pile with his prey.
The selectively mute tom didn't feel hungry anymore- only a dull sense of remaining anxiety from the patrol with the deputy filled his belly. He would leave the prey for someone else to enjoy for now.

The molly had been in a generally better mood than she could have been considering the kits had been insulting her- However, the moment the voice of a certain tom filled the den Cindercloud's mood soured. Her fur prickled for a second as she heard him coo her name- intent on joining the conversation it seemed- and waltz into the nursery. His words earned him a swift glare before she opened her maw to respond. "Oh please- just at a glance one could see you have always eaten more than I have." She retorted before the sound of a small voice caught her attention. She looked down at Splashkit with slight amusement. "I listen to Starclan, thats all that matters for Medicine cats." She mused before turning her gaze back to Bearstar. How would he answer Bubblekit's argument for their story? And why had he just barged in on them to begin with? Part of her felt he had done it only to bother her.
Cosmospetal then caught the medicine cat's attention as she spoke up and scolded the kits- 'a bit late for that' she thought, but appreciated that at least one of the kits seemed to believe what she had said and seemed to regret her actions. They had been annoying her with the insults but she was not truly mad at the kits- it was just hard t tell when she was or wasnt actually upset.

The selectively mute tom didn't feel hungry anymore- only a dull sense of remaining anxiety from the patrol with the deputy filled his belly. He would leave the prey for someone else to enjoy for now.

The molly had been in a generally better mood than she could have been considering the kits had been insulting her- However, the moment the voice of a certain tom filled the den Cindercloud's mood soured. Her fur prickled for a second as she heard him coo her name- intent on joining the conversation it seemed- and waltz into the nursery. His words earned him a swift glare before she opened her maw to respond. "Oh please- just at a glance one could see you have always eaten more than I have." She retorted before the sound of a small voice caught her attention. She looked down at Splashkit with slight amusement. "I listen to Starclan, thats all that matters for Medicine cats." She mused before turning her gaze back to Bearstar. How would he answer Bubblekit's argument for their story? And why had he just barged in on them to begin with? Part of her felt he had done it only to bother her.
Cosmospetal then caught the medicine cat's attention as she spoke up and scolded the kits- 'a bit late for that' she thought, but appreciated that at least one of the kits seemed to believe what she had said and seemed to regret her actions. They had been annoying her with the insults but she was not truly mad at the kits- it was just hard t tell when she was or wasnt actually upset.
